Clean room, friendly staff, well lit parking lot. If you need a room to stay and are traveling light, this is a place to stay. If you are concerned with some transient people walking around the area, it might not be the place for you. This is something that the motel has no control over! They do provide a well lit, secure fenced area for vehicles and your stay. I felt secure and slept well.

Good price but no frills. The area has a lot of homeless but they can't control that. There is a fence around things and i never felt totally unsafe. Its great if you need to stay for several days.

I really would like to give this place a higher rating, if not for the frustrating interactions with the staff's "English as a second language". I only only speak English, so that is not unusual, but frustrating! The overall facility exceeded my expectation for the price! BIG room, nicely equipped, comfortable, quiet, modern, etc. BUT... When we checked in and I was having an internet connection problem. I started to use the phone, only to find that there wasn’t one! The toilet seat was VERY loose and the hair dryer switch was broken. The only way to use it was to press the red button on the wall plug to start it and the yellow button to stop it. That meant no night light in a very dark bathroom at night. I wrote down all of the problems and gave them to the night clerk when we went out to dinner. Thursday morning, the front desk man told me that they were getting a new phone system ‘soon’, so I could not get a phone!!! Thursday evening, when we returned to our two rooms, the key cards would not work. The original clerk had only enabled them for ONE DAY!! We stayed from Wednesday to Saturday and SOME of the problems were not fixed until late Friday afternoon, even though I told the desk clerk every morning and every evening! I loved the place, but the people? Not so much! That being said I would book again and know that interactions with the different staff member could be difficult.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The bed was fairly comfortable. The heater worked well. The hotel was quiet with a nice fence around it. There was plenty of parking inside the fence. The hotel could use a little care ( freshen up paint, etc.). Overall, not a bad stay for a short overnight business trip.

The property is okay overall. The lobby and rooms are well kept and clean. Housekeeping came daily to restock/replace towels and tidy the room. The staff is friendly and very accommodating. Be prepared to pay a $100 deposit when you check in, even if you prepay through Expedia. Having to pay the deposit was a bit of a surprise when I already paid in advance. There also was this lingering odor that was in the elevator and second floor. Besides that, there’s really nothing to complain about.

A website I use said this hotel had a hot breakfast. No hot breakfast. The sign out front says elevator. Elevator did not work for the 4 days I was there. In addition this is a very poor area of town. I only had to look out my room window to see a homeless person’s tent and encountered multiple down and outers in the area as well as having to listen yo multiple shouting matches. Staff was friendly and helpful but they can’t help the area that this hotel is in.

I prepaid the hotel room for a worker. He got to the room and quickly left. He said it was the filthiest room he'd ever seen, and refused to stay there. Went to the front desk to request a refund, they said they would contact hotels.com. Hotels.com refused to refund because we prepaid as non-refundable. So buyer beware!!! No refunds even if the room is third-world uninhabitable. So worst review ever for both Sleep Inn and Hotels.com! Thanks for nothing!

The room was extremely dirty, the guy checking us in was quite rude.

My first room had permanent stains on the bedspread, paint splotches on the walls to try to cover damage or marks, and none of my 3 devices was able to connect to the Wi-Fi because I was at the end of the hall. My second room was better but the water pressure in the sink tap was absolutely laughable. This was all still better than the poor guy that parked next to me who had his back window busted and things stolen from his truck, probably by one of the homeless people living in a tent across the street. Pay a little more and get a lot more.

Curtains were falling off the curtain rail/rod. Top comforter/sheets had foul odor as if they had been used over and over without washing.

Very quiet, large clean room, great friendly staff!

Very affordable for a quick overnight stay, and it was clean, beds were comfortable, and the water pressure was good and hot. Super convenient. Easy parking. Ground floor accommodations. What more can you want?

Hotel is clean, rooms are spacious, and great price. I would definitely stay there again.

We could not understand the TV we had, because the TV was bad or TV company was bad.

Located in a very industrial area, the bath tub was sagging, unable to drain all bath water while showering.

The bed was not comfortable at all. You could feel the springs in it. There was no breakfast in the morning. The entertainment center was destroyed and broken on the bottom.

I stayed here for two nights came out to Bakersfield for my grandmother's funeral the area wasn't that bad but it wasn't good either. The gentleman who checked me in was very nice the room was was clean and comfy. The air conditioner is very loud so if you are a light sleeper that may be a problem for you . but overall my stay was a good one. I will stay here again

Nice safe place to stay only thing the room need new beds.

Television was almost unwatchable with cutting out. I asked for different room but was told they are all like that. The fridge in the room was loud as well. It was clean though and there wasn’t much noise from others staying there so that was a plus.

Curtains did not close for outside privacy at night. Most electrical outlets dud notcm work.

Great hotel. Nice room. Great customer service. Even checked me in early with no extra cost.

Only problem i encountered was the fact i was infomrd $100 deposit was on jold and once i checked out it was be released but to my finding $200 was on jold and took 6 days for them to release back to my account.. other then that staff was nice rooms were clean and spacious.. area wasnt to bad laots of eateries and stores close by

The first room we checked in the AC was not working. The second room we were assigned had a strong smell of cigarettes even though it was a non-smoking room. The third room the AC did not work either. Finally, the fourth room was comfortable to stay in. The check-in time was approximately 45 minutes, which was long and it made us late to a family event.

this was very simple and quiet and clean most of all the front desk personnel was very professional

My stay was awesome!!! Staff were very friendly, I had an issue with the door to the room and staff were on it right away they took care of it fast . I would definitely stay here again .

Lots of homeless and people hanging around the out side of the facility

Went this past weekend for the wrestling state tournament and this was about 10 min drive from the arena. I checked in and had no issues at all the two nights I stayed. Clean rooms and bathroom. Def saving this hotel for next time I am in Bakersfield

Plenty of homeless all around the hotel, it was not even safe to get out of the car

We didn’t even check in as the area was completely unsafe with homeless people surrounding the hotel. I haven’t any idea what the hotel looks like on the inside or how clean the room was. My wife and we’re to worried our car would be broken into.

The staff were very nice and quick. I was sceptical of choosing this hotel because the area around it is filled with homeless and trash but the actual property was very clean and well put together. A diamond in the rough for sure. But my stay was very nice room was clean breakfast was delicious

The continental breakfast was not maintained. Was out of waffle batter and bagels. The pipes were noisy for the shower.

Nice hotel but v noisy overnight as right next to the freeway so bring earplugs! Also the carpet made my white socks black….bit otherwise a comfy sleep and breakfast was good

We left the sign for house keeping to clear our room, that didnt happen we had to request it when we got back to the room. It listed free breakfast, we got there at 6:45 a.m. (it opens at 6:30a.m.) Their selection consisted of one banana, no pastries, 4 plain bagels and cream cheese, coffee and OJ, one type of cereal and milk.

Staff was nice. Room was clean and comfortable. Hotel was in decent shape. Area was so so. Breakfast is suspended.

Stayed there 2 nights. We were there for the drag races. It was an average room, that met all our needs. The breakfast provided was great and saved us some money. Loved the waffles. Over all a pretty good value.

Clean, quiet and comfortable room. Breakfast was also decent. Waffle maker, cereal, bagels, toast, yogurt...
