Overnight stay whilst visiting friends. The hotel is opposite the castle and convenient for the centre of Windsor. The room was clean and comfortable though a little worn. There are no food facilities but there are plenty of eating places within a short walk. The reception staff were helpful and the early bag drop was very useful. Pricing is very reasonable. There is no on site parking but plenty of choice within 10 minutes walk.

The staff were lovely and upgraded our room which was kind. However, I have to say the whole thing is quite sad. The hotel should be full of old world grandeur and charm but instead it is tired, untidy and in some places dirty. It could be amazing but needs investment. There is no bar and nowhere for breakfast - we hope someone takes an interest in this hotel and save its heritage 😥

There is work going on at the hotel and scaffolding outside. This was not mentioned when booking. The windows are filthy due to this. We upgraded our view to see the Castle however this pointless. The staff were lovely on reception however I did not appreciate the whatsapp call and text less than 2 hours after departure. All questions could have been asked at check out. The room itself is large however the facilities are old and need modernising. The shower area could also do with more cleaning especially around the metal tap work and shower dial. Despite this is is great value for money consisdering the location.

Great location, check in was easy. Lift is very old and stops at every floor so quicker to take the stairs. Room was small and quite an odd set up. You can tell the bathroom tiles had just been fitted as there was grout still in the sink. TV didn’t work as it had no Ariel but the Desk staff did get it sorted. The room could definitely done with a decorate as pain was coming off in places. There was an odd little room between the bedroom and bathroom where there was a desk and kettle but there was no plug socket near so had to plug it in on the floor, think there was only 4 sockets in total and none near the bed! Went for a shower and who ever fitted the new control unit didn’t connect the hot tap as when you turned it to hot no water came out. At this point I was not willing to wait for the slow lift and complain so took 35 mins to run the bath and the water wasn’t that hot either. This room must of not been used in many months and definitely not checked prior to handing out the key. The room wasn’t expensive but you would expect the basics. Bed dipped on one side but got a good night sleep. Not sure if I would stay here again as it’s opposite the castle and great views but not out of my window.

This property is under major refurbishment. It is situated perfectly for staying in Windsor close to the castle shops etc. The staff were lovely and did all they could as there is obviously work man onsite even on Sundays and no restaurant options or facilities other than your room but a two minute walk to great restaurants and Wetherspoons breakfast for cheap and cheerful option nearby!! Can’t wait to revisit once the refurbishment is complete. We paid a good price for the area and had a great weekend as everything was close at hand. Consider it if you are paying a good price as it is so convenient to explore from. I am sure once it’s refurbished it will be back up to steep prices !

Property is going through major maintenance with scaffolding interrupting our views of Windsor Castle - this was the main reason for us selecting the hotel. Disappointing not to be told in advance. We were not giving the right room as we had booked and was at the back of the hotel, but this was quickly changed. Breakfast was not prepared and there was confusion as to the start time.

Got this room very cheap due to member rewards but if I was paying full price I would have been very disappointed. The hotel is fantastic location but has seen better days and really needs a good makeover. My room was adequate for one but the facilities were poor. TV fixed very badly, wires hanging loose from some sort of telecoms/broadband wall mounted box and the fire/smoke alarm cover was missing with wires hanging loose and I very much doubt worked so thank goodness no emergencies during my stay. The bathroom tiles were grubby and not cleaned very recently and shower poorly positioned by a wooden sash window which got soaked during my shower and clearly had when used by everyone else as the window was starting to rot and break up as a consequence. Other guests clearly had similar issues as there were two people in front of me while checking out who were explaining this at reception. Such a shame as this hotel is iconic to Windsor and should be a real privilege to stay at.

Room was v dirty w toe nail clippings on the floor by end of bed that stuck to my feet. Room next to back exit by Wagamama & had homeless people sleeping on back stairwell. Felt unsafe and slept w a chair against the door. Stayed here a few years back so idk what happened to the place.

This is an interesting older inn. It's in a great location. However, it's tired and could really use an update for the price. Sheets and towels were clean but worn, peeling paint and windows that don't shut properly, and the mattress was comfortable but horribly stained which was exposed due to no fitted sheet on the bed.

The executive double room was massive and decent value for money for Windsor. A few other reviewers have mentioned cleanliness, it’s not awful but just little things that you’d think would be part of the cleaners check list. Our room had a large amount of mould on the window sil which would only take a minute to clean off. Other than that the room was nice Some parts of the hotel would benefit from a little makeover but it’s generally a solid 4/5, especially for a the money. I’d definitely come back again. Looks like they’re doing renovations so they’re probably going to improve it Right opposite the castle and close to bars and restaurants

Booked a castle view and was given a rear facing room, reception changed this to a 2nd floor castle view room but the room wasn't prepared, we walked into an unmade bed and unclean room. Back to reception and they gave us the 'best room' which had a great view but was freezing cold, windows are single glazed and draughty. Hot tap in the bathroom did not work at all, had to use the one in the bath and there was no hairdryer.

A very good, central Windsor location opposite Windsor Castle. Entrance was not very apparent as a Hotel Entrance. Check In was OK but basic. The rooms are in need of a major renovation, whilst acceptable needed a lot of repair and modernisation e.g. worn out carpets, paintwork badly damaged, bathroom in poor condition although good shower . The bed was just adequate as a double, but small. Wi-Fi was good, TV good size and OK if you could work out the channels.

The Hotel is quite tired in terms of amenities. The room looked really nice when we checked in (Traditional English Vibe), huge bathroom, tall ceilings. However, The bath didnt run properly, there was a continually leaking tap which disturbed our sleep, the sink pipes made a really high pitched squeak until we ran the tap for a bit (this was throughout the whole night). The shower is absolutely huge but the shower head is a single, fixed one which jetted water at a completely unusable angle (also annoying for women wanting to keep their hair dry). The double bed was two singles bumped together and the curtains didnt close properly so there was blinding light from quite an early hour. Having said this, the staff were excellent prior to our arrival and we quite easily arranged for a late check out at no extra cost. We only stayed for 1 night so didnt bother to complain or ask for an alternative room but I definitely wouldnt stay there again for the cost of a room. It's a great central location for wandering around Windsor but that's about all.

Hotel claims to have “ Air Conditioning “ well it did not ! They claim to have it & the lobby had it, but NOT the 2 rooms we had. According to a staff member, it had been broken for over 3 weeks, & probably was never fixed. I know it’s the UK and usually chilly but NOT this summer. Overall it was OK, and well situated across from the castle, just get that AC fixed !

We booked a castle-view room which was unreal. Walkability is 10/10. Room was spacious but not private if you like natural light as there is no sheer curtain on the window. Bed was firm and a bit cosy for two adults. Seamless check-in and check-out.

I booked a twin room but was given a double room. So I told the staff at the reception desk and Haroon immediately sent a female staff to check a clean twin room in exchange for the wrongly assigned double room. So the fault was rectified instantly and the room was very clean too. So I told the staff at the reception desk and Haroon immediately sent a female staff to check a clean twin room in exchange for the wrongly assigned double room. Excellent location. Room was ready on arrival we stayed for 4 nights room was not serviced for the duration of our stay. Facilities were good although the shower was very feeble and water was deathly hot(burnt my foot on one occasion before I was aware).TV, Kettle, safe, coffe,tea, towels and toiletries in room so well stocked however when I asked for more coffee and loo roll these were not supplied, I had to go and get them. Overall a good stay and great value for money.

Enjoyed the location, perfect across the road from the castle. Nearby to shops, walking distance to everything Staff on this occasion not overly helpful when i complained about overlooking their garbage bins when i booked a City view room!! Could've done better or offered some solution So in that regard disappointing considering Im an overseas visitor from NZ.

The location cant be beat.... perfect for windsor castle, for the train, restaurants and shops The hotel has seen better days but for the price and the location a little dated furniture was acceptable. Staff was great helpful and very accomodating.. i had to change rooms and when i came back my bags.were in my new room... Would go back any time

The man behind front desk on the evening of 22 Sep was obnoxious and inattentive. I felt like I was treated poorly because perhaps I am from a different culture than he was. On the morning of the 23 Sep, however, the was a young lady who was very professional, attentive, listened to me and and was quite helpful. I just wanted to let you know that the man on the evening of 22 Sep is not representing your business very well. I own 2 small companies and I would surely hire the young lady. And I would most asuredly get rid of the the gentleman if he was scaring off business like that.

Unfortunately 1 night only stay did not go as planned. Booking made for luxury room with castle view for 2 adults and 2 children, due to overbooking we got double room with courtyard view. A very good, central Windsor location opposite Windsor Castle. Entrance was not very apparent as a Hotel Entrance. Check In was OK but basic. The rooms are in need of a major renovation, whilst acceptable needed a lot of repair and modernisation e.g. worn out carpets, paintwork badly damaged, bathroom in poor condition although good shower . The bed was just adequate as a double, but small. Wi-Fi was good, TV good size and OK if you could work out the channels.

There are no food facilities but there are plenty of eating places within a short walk. The reception staff were helpful and the early bag drop was very useful. Pricing is very reasonable. There is no on site parking but plenty of choice within 10 minutes walk.

The property proximity to Windsor Castle is outstanding. I had a Castle view room and it did not dissapoint. The view was incredible! With this being said, if the property were to be updated just a little....IE paint and better maintenance, it could be truly great and a premium price could be charged due to the proximity to the Castle and train to London.

Clean & friendly staff. Be prepared to carry your luggage up and down stairs. Location is close to Heathrow (used Uber), shopping, castle, & the Long Walk. Felt safe walking in the shopping district in the evenings. Lots of restaurants nearby and people sitting outside the castle in the evenings. Only issue was it being noisy both nights with people partying at a nearby club or arguing middle of the night out on the street. Not the fault of the hotel.

The Room we were assigned had no proper seating although there was a dressing table, the hot water in the bathroom was slow and hardly any water came out, I could not a have a proper shave. On top of all of this above we were woken up at 0325 in the morning because of people coming back to a room late after being out, they were knocking on the room door loudly next to us and talking loudly! When checking out on the morning, the receptionists attitude was not of much concern to say the least. The answer we got was it happens every Friday night, there is a nightclub just at the back of us, sorry about that! Over all the price for a room we paid in the centre of Windsor wasn't too bad, but needless to say we will not stay there again!

The staff were lovely and upgraded our room which was kind. However, I have to say the whole thing is quite sad. The hotel should be full of old world grandeur and charm but instead it is tired, untidy and in some places dirty. It could be amazing but needs investment. There is no bar and nowhere for breakfast - we hope someone takes an interest in this hotel and save its heritage 😥

A quirky hotel. It’s not a modern chain so you get exactly what you’d expect. A little run down and shabby, but clean room/bathroom and comfy bed. It’s right opposite Windsor Castle so you couldn’t ask for a better location. Conveniently located for restaurants, cafes and pubs, although there are no catering facilities in the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful.

This is not the hotel for an overnight layover, If you were staying in the Windsor Castle area, I would advise choosing a hotel that serves breakfast if you are an early morning person. There were no breakfast or even coffee and tea services in my flight left early, and there are no restaurants, coffee, shops, tea, shops open Until around 9 o’clock. They did provide a water kettle and some instant coffee for my room. As far as the area in View is concerned, if you stay in one of the third floor luxury rooms, you have a view of Windsor Castle out your fully functioning window. The castle also does not open early, and I had to leave the area before actually getting to enjoy it.

Property was right across from Windsor Castle which was great. Facia was being renovated so there was scaffolding in front, but it did not affect our view. There were some minor issues on check in, the shower head was a little awkwardly positioned, and they did not have a do not disturb sign for the handle. We asked for our room to not be cleaned, but it was cleaned.

This property is under major refurbishment. It is situated perfectly for staying in Windsor close to the castle shops etc. The staff were lovely and did all they could as there is obviously work man onsite even on Sundays and no restaurant options or facilities other than your room but a two minute walk to great restaurants and Wetherspoons breakfast for cheap and cheerful option nearby!! Can’t wait to revisit once the refurbishment is complete. We paid a good price for the area and had a great weekend as everything was close at hand. Consider it if you are paying a good price as it is so convenient to explore from. I am sure once it’s refurbished it will be back up to steep prices !

Property is going through major maintenance with scaffolding interrupting our views of Windsor Castle - this was the main reason for us selecting the hotel. Disappointing not to be told in advance. We were not giving the right room as we had booked and was at the back of the hotel, but this was quickly changed. Breakfast was not prepared and there was confusion as to the start time.
