Great location, attentive staff, very clean and well kept, lovely breakfast, quiet and comfortable. Parking onsite needs to be booked in advance and is a £40 valet service. Cheaper ling tern parking is available a 5 minute walk away.

Almost impossible to find with scaffolding covering the front. Also hard to find the car park which incidentally cost £40 overnight. Having said that the service and reception areas were great. We had room number 201. Nice and roomy with a huge bed. Bathroom was big with a lovely big bathtub. However, we could not remove the bath plug so had to put up with a bath full of water all night and much to my disappointment, The espresso coffee machine didn’t work either. All in all a good stay but details need attention.

Wasn’t aware that parking on site was so expensive at £40 per night and want told this in advance which would have been easy in one of the many welcome text message or emails I received. We had to wait for staff to be available for check out and to let us into the car park. The room was fine and in good condition. When we did interact with staff they were friendly and helpful.

Good hotel literally opposite the palace entrance. Do not park at the hotel though, it’s £40 for 24 hours and only in blocks of 24 hours so if you park for 25 hours it’s £80! Ridiculous price. Park round the corner under Waitrose at Windsor Yards which is £26/24 hours and you only pay for what you use.

We had 4 rooms booked as we had an event at Windsor Castle the next day. We had one car between the 4 rooms and were heavily dissuaded by your concierge not to use the hotels car park. We were parked at the garage at the back and kept being told how expensive the parking was and how we would be charged 2 days even though we wouldn’t have even been there 18 hours.. This caused us problems and to be late for our event that evening too. It was not a great start .

This hotel was fantastic. Beautiful hotel, with spacious rooms. It's almost directly across from the entrance to Windsor Castle, so it's perfect for visiting that and the town. No meals were included with our stay, so we had Eggs Benedict for breakfast at the restaurant next door, which was fantastic. My only complaint is their lack of parking! If you have a car then make sure you reserve a parking spot for the night! We were unaware of this upon arrival and ended up having to park in a pay lot down the street. It wasn't the end of the world obviously, just a bit inconvenient. But otherwise va lovely hotel

Staff were lovely, nice pleasant hotel but when we went into our bathroom, there were awful stains(poo) round outside bowl of toilet and some on the floor. Reported it to receptionist and was told it would be sorted whilst we went out for a meal. Returned after 3 hours and it was no different!!! Back to reception and they said housekeeping had been up to our room and said there was nothing wrong with it. Receptionist came up to our room with us and saw the disgusting toilet and agreed that it was totally unacceptable. By now, it was 1030 at night but as unable and not prepared to use dirty toilet (and floor) she came back with the bar manager and cleaned it and mopped the floor. They should never have had to do that, housekeeping needs much more training!!! Rest of hotel and stay was fine

I had a lovely stay at this hotel. The location is excellent, staff helpful and friendly - especially the front desk and concierge, and the room was spacious with good amenities. It was very clean - I rarely take baths in hotels but felt comfortable doing so here. I felt it was a good value.

The location of this hotel is amazing. The staff were welcoming and professional. The breakfast was yummy and a lot of choices . The only complaint I have is the standard room we stayed in. The carpet needs cleaning, the outer cabinet to the fridge door was broken and hanging by the hinge. The bathroom smelled of mildew as there wasn’t any ventilation. The bed and pillows were comfy though.

Stayed here many times before and always had a positive experience. However this time the room was dirty and reception staff very rude and unhelpful. Was provided with an alternative room after showing photographic evidence of the filthy room.. the second room was better but still very run down and lacking cleanliness. The only positive were the two concierge staff who were very polite and helpful unlike their colleagues in reception.

When we first stayed at this hotel more than a decade ago, it was just perfect and, as I learnt from the manager, just opened. Unfortunately, time has not been kind to the rooms, and even less so to the bathrooms. Building standards at the time saw MDF being used extensively; MDF LOVES water so door frames and bath panels now bulge in all the wrong places. Happens. That the chrome comes off the shower controls is more of an issue: you can seriously cut yourself on the sharp edges. But what really took the crown was the black mold all around the bath tub. That's getting close to health hazard. We saw all that right after we checked in and went back to reception. Staff was very understanding and helpful, immediately offering us alternatives. Unfortunately, each of the three further options shown were progressively worse, and we decided to stick with the original room as the lesser of all evils. You can't beat the hotel for location: it's right outside Windsor castle. From reception staff to breakfast to the manager: all were superb, friendly and helpful. The hotel is being renovated but it's a slow process. Once the room we stayed in is done, we'll be back!

Impossible to understand staff member at check-in (English poor/spoke v quickly/accent v strong). Mid-check in she twice left us to assist a very rude & pushy courier. I had to be forceful with the courier to make him wait, which I was not happy about having to do. Breakfast hosted in a poorly lit meeting/conference room instead of the much more pleasant looking restaurant, and food was poor in quality Door to bathroom (room 127) contains a large piece of opaque glass & is directly opposite the bed so if one of you needs the bathroom at night, others are awoken by the main room filling with light - v strange design choice. Shower was over a built-in bath - horribly unsafe to climb in/out of as the side of the bath is higher than average & has a deep shelf around the edge. Could’ve requested room change but was only there one night & desperate to sleep. Mini fridge adequate but not fixed in place so if you accidentally move it when opening the door, as i did, you will see through a cut-out (in the bottom of the cupboard, where fridge is located) what appears to be months or maybe years of filth caked on the floor - would've expected this area to be cleaned every so often (that's not to say the rest of the room wasn't reasonably clean - it was). As for power outlets, for a hotel of this standard i would expect to find them both sides of the bed rather than just the one side. Main selling point is location, but it's not enough to make me stay again.

The deluxe room we had felt a little tired. Pillows were awful and bed was hard. Easy to scald yourself in the shower as there are no clear indications as to hot or cold options or temperature levels. Little dissapointed as our stay was for a special reason.

Fantastic location for castle and train station and very quiet hotel. Nearby taxi rank if need, although we used Uber. We didn’t eat in hotel at all as we were out a lot, and used pubs, cafes and local restaurant ( although all overpriced due to tourist location). Service as hotel was really good and the fact as train travellers they could look after our luggage before check in and after check out made a massive difference to us. standard Room spacious , quiet, well equipped, comfortable, a little dark and dated but fine for us.( Note light sensor in corridors and bathroom can be pretty slow to react). No phone in room a little inconvenient but okay. I only gripe was the mobile phone signal/ internet was awful in our room, poor near hotel entrance and generally around Windsor so hard for us to plan , especially our travel.

I would have given this hotel 5 ⭐️ but the neighbouring hotel The Windsor holds events in an outdoor venue which run quite late. Where our hotel room was located, we could hear the music until midnight. Thank goodness our 2nd night was quiet and we were able to have a great long sleep prior to our 9.5 hour flight

Good room, great shower although extra or fans not working in shower room or toilet room. We told reception about this on departure so hopefully they will sort this out. Got back to the hotel at 10.15 and wanted a night cap. No bar attendant, told the duty manager who fetched the bar attendant from Back of House. Sat down with our drinks next to a nice fire. No one came to clear the old drinks. Asked the duty manager if the drinks could be cleared. Instead of doing it himself, he walked over to the bar and instructed the bar attendant to come over to clear the table. Why couldn’t he have cleared the old drinks himself? Has impacted on our views of the hotel.

I originally booked this hotel for its proximity to the castle. We have had an amazing stay. The breakfast was awesome and the staff went above and beyond. Next we are down this way we will try and stay here again.

Okay, first things first. Ideally in any other weekend I’d probably have given this hotel 5 stars on everything. It’s brilliantly located right across from the Castle, it has its own (if expensive) car park & the rooms are spacious, in great condition & comfortable. Unfortunately on the day we stayed, the fire alarm system was sabotaged in the early hours by a drunk & disgruntled guest leading to an evacuation & 2 hours waiting in the lobby for the system to be fixed & reset. Whilst the hotel had no control over this, I regret the performance of the staff during this event was shocking. We were given no guidance on the evacuation meaning half the hotel was left in the rain for 30 minutes & the other half allowed to stay in the lobby. We were not provided with any updates as to the problem or time to resolution & whilst they may well have been busy dealing with the matter, there wasn’t a member of staff to be seen for well over an hour. The hotel didn’t offer any form of tea/ coffee to those left waiting at all during the period. As the final kick isn’t proverbial, the hotel’s automatic shut down system saw the boiler turned off & not switched on meaning the whole hotel had cold showers in the morning. As I saw, actually a lovely hotel, but the staff…. As we found them… we’re sadly lacking.

We stayed here for two nights either side of my investiture at Windsor Castle. The location for Windsor Castle could not have been better. The Castle is pretty much across the road. The concierges were both exceptionally helpful. I strongly recommend this hotel.

Stayed for two nights to visit Castle and town. Lovely hotel. Great location. Beautiful room, with lovely bathroom. Everything we wanted was available. Breakfast was superb. Staff were all so friendly and helpful. Would stay again and recommend highly.

Lovely hotel, very clean and luxurious. Staff are all helpful and friendly. Service top tier. The only things that let it down is the breakfast, on the website they advertise they serve a high quality breakfast, but in reality they have an average style buffet and no black pudding. The restaurant is also very dark. Also they charge a very high charge to use their carpark, there are a few in town that charge less. However it was a very nice stay and I would definitely book another McDonald hotel

Not our first visit to this hotel. It is in a great location and overall a great hotel. On this visit we noticed a general deterioration in the property. Worn metal on taps in bathroom, marks on carpets. Not major. Breakfast was a big disappointment though. Limited choice. Not cooked to a good standard. Processed bread. Nothing that said fresh and healthy

Hotel was good rooms spacious clean only downside was the Bath as if you were elderly as it was very high to get in for a shower, fridge light was on but not working as milk went off. Breakfast was very poor bacon was well overcooked sausage was ok hash brown were horrible the toast option was cheap processed bread as the fresh bread wasn't refreshed.

Very nice hotel, perfect location, and good value for money. Would stay here again. Caveats: (1) parking is very expensive (40 GBP), (2) kitchen stops serving [no room service] after 9.30pm, (3) cost for a pet on Hotels.com and at the front desk were different (15 GBP vs 20 GBP). The staff, however, were VERY helpful, friendly, and accommodating. The stay was great.

The location was perfect for exploring Windsor with the Castle literally across the street. Shopping and restaurants were just minutes from the entrance. The room was very comfortable and the breakfasts had a great selection. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Breakfast layout was unsafe for consumption. Food was cold and was not being probed on a regular basis. Domestic heat trays were in use for keeping the food "hot" as opposed to commercial chafing dishes. Totally unacceptable if they want to avoid potential food poisoning outbreaks
