Parking nearby pricey even with hotel discount. Check-in was welcoming. Room was comfortable convenient location

For a hotel that obviously prides itself on its food and restaurant it was disappointing to find the restaurant closed as there was no chef. Disappointing as i arrived late and wanted room service. Room also cold.

Poor lighting. One of the lights failed during my stay. Complex 3 lift system with confusing floor numbering. No access from room to street without steps. No breakfast before 08:00.

Bed was comfortable and the ac in the room was welcome during the hot weather recently, however the bar was disappointing and the restaurant wasn't available except for breakfast during our stay, additionally laundry and dry cleaning services were advertised but not available upon arrival and the building is not very accessable for those with disabilities as there are many unavoidable stairs and whilst there are lifts if you were in a wheelchair you'd need to take between 2-3 lifts to get to your room which is simply not practical and for the same reasons carrying luggage to the room is unnecessarily difficult. The included breakfast was of a good quality but lacking in options, the sausages were not to my liking but that is just due to my personal preference. Staff however were excellent throughout our stay. Overall I'd give my stay a 6.5 out of 10 mostly due to the location being convenient but I would be unlikely to return

Great location, but with that comes the expense of parking. Yes, it's available, but not at the hotel. I paid just over £100 for just over 3 days at a very handy carpark just over the way. Breakfast was good. Staff good. Room average. Particularly naff was the TV which was small with a fading picture. It wouldn't stop me staying there again though

Very clean and well presented room. Lots of space. Air conditioning was just what I wanted in my room and I got it here. My stay was very well priced too. A few mins walk away from Chorlton Street car park. Will definitely stay again on one of my next trips to Manchester.

Right in the centre of Manchester (so parking is expensive) great for restaurants, bars, sight seeing.

Very mixed feelings about this hotel. Location wise, it was perfect. As a wheelchair user, it was frustrating. Breakfast was acceptable, certainly nothing to write home about. The beds were comfortable but dangerous; they were on castors that meant the bed moved everytime you went to sit on the edge - not great when you’re not very steady on your feet! The entrance, on Princess street, is a floor below reception, the doors are not automatic and are quite narrow. To get the wheelchair in, I needed both doors open and there is no-one to help. You have to take a lift up to Reception, then an open wheel in/wheel off lift up the equivalent of 4 steps, then another lift up to the bedrooms. The lifts are so tiny, my husband couldn’t fit in with me in the wheelchair, so we had to do every trip separately and wait for each other. The gentleman on Reception when we arrived was polite and helpful. The lady on Reception when we checked out this morning was bordering on rude. Thankfully we didn’t need to speak to her, but some poor guests who wanted to leave their bags were met with exasperated tones. Breakfast was plentiful and things like cereal, bread, etc were good. The bacon however was stuck together in clumps and coated in white stuff. The scrambled eggs were made with powdered eggs and were revolting. Drinks in the bar were reasonably priced and excellent quality. As you can tell, we had a really mixed experience and if you’re able bodied, this hotel could be ideal. Not for me!

Great location, easy walking distance to most things downtown. Very friendly and accommodating staff. The rooms were large and comfortable, and decently clean (I get congested with too much dust, but no problems here). The rooms were also nice and quiet, even though there was a festival while we were there and the streets were full of drunk people hooting and hollering, it didn't bother us at all in our room. The air conditioners also worked great. The breakfast was fine: Always plenty of space to sit, and a good selection of food. The food itself was perhaps not always the best (hash browns that have been sitting in a warming tray for an hour lose all their crunch, for example). But it tasted fine and got the job done. We parked at the NCP Chorlton Street garage, which was 25 pounds a day, and worked just fine.

So, we checked in and got upgraded, sounds like a bonus, however the room we got upgraded to one of the old rooms, yes this was bigger but had a heavily stained curtains and worn carpet and cracked tiles in the bathroom This was changed to another room of the same poor standard. Eventually I asked to be downgraded to the a room we had stayed at before and this was better, No bar or food facility’s available at my stay today because of a private event. But what annoys me so much about this whole service is that prior I was pestered to pay for upgrades (3 emails) and within 5 hours of leaving I was asked 3 times to review the hotel!! It’s borderline harassment In short I think I’m done with this hotel. It used to hold sentimental value with me but now i think it’s time to move on

Hotel with old and outdated structure. Dirty carpet, bad spring bed, wobbly chairs...

While the Guest Services Manager Jack is absolutely amazing and immediately stepped up to try to meet my needs, the hotel fell short of my expectations. First room was dirty (wont get specific- suffice to say that the walls needed to be cleaned). Jack quickly moved us (and to a larger room) however, the 2nd room had a shower that flooded the bathroom with every use. Not sure if the recent tourism surge for Oasis was the cause behind the unsatisfactory room conditions. The breakfast we purchased as an extra was wonderful and did offer gluten free options. Unfortunately, we decided to cut our visit short and only stay for 1 night when we paid for 2.

Room (104) was spotlessly clean as was the bathroom. Great mattress & a wonderful night's sleep! Good breakfast selection, slightly disappointed no fried eggs but hey, great coffee! Will book again👍

Had been to this hotel a few years ago. During my recent visit I was impressed by the standard of carpets/furnishings in public areas. My room was sizeable, quiet, comfortable and warm in Feb. Staff pleasant. Very impressed overall; highly recommended.

The hotel room was visibly dirty, we asked to change rooms as the bedsheets had stains on them and the room smelt damp. Reception staff swapped our room, the next room wasn’t much better, it had stains all over the carpet and I even found a used contact lens on the floor meaning it obviously wasn’t vacuumed properly. The whole hotel needs a major update, there is no way this hotel is a 4 star. Very disappointed as I’ve stayed in many hotels in Manchester and if I’d known this hotel was going to be so bad I would have booked another that I have stayed at previously.

Lovely big room, was very clean. We stay here every time we go to Manchester. The breakfast is always really nice with a huge choice. The coffee is really nice and it’s a peaceful area where you sit to eat. The hotel is a lovely old building which has been very well kept and is in excellent condition. It has been tastefully decorated to mix modern yet still retain its character. The position is great too, short walk to all the shops and nice bars. Overall it is a great hotel and is always competitive on price. Would highly recommended

Very Clean, Friendly Staff, comfy beds, big rooms

Good: many restaurants and some groceries stores nearby. Check in: the lady came out and open the entrance door with warm welcome. Fast check in. Room: spacious, there is an extra heater in the room. Quiet around the hotel area. Breakfast: average, good enough. Bad: WIFI: slow, some times, it didn't have signal and wait for a while to have a signal again. Reception: there were no any staff for a while as I was standing for a help. It happened more than once. Bedsheet: there was a hair and some marks, which were not clean enough. TV: no guideline which channels are those. I have to keep enter the numbers in order to look for news channels. I couldn't finally, so I went down to ask the reception for help. The lady was patient to help.

Hotel is in an old building. Rooms are a little dated in atyle and windows need a good clean.room was dusty on top of plugs etc. Couldn't get the hand soap and shampoo to work *surely this should be checked* Positives: Bed was comfy, free can of water.

The room was lovely and clean. Comfy bed and great sized room. Friendly, helpful staff. The hot breakfast was poor, dry, cold eggs, under cooked sausages, the rest of the breakfast options were good just a let down with the hot food.

We were allocated 3 different rooms due to issues. First room stunk of damp to the point it got on your chest to which my partner has asthma. 2nd room was red hot with air con stuck on heat with lights not working. When we complained staff didn't seem bothered and we were informed air con is set to heat as it was going to be cold the next day. You cant open windows they are stapled shut which a sticker next to them informed this is as they provide air con. It makes no sense. 3rd room we just accepted as it was taking up so much time.

Lovely staff even let us check in 40 minutes early! The room was clean and very pleasant. Also, the cleaner came back later when we were still getting ready so our room was clean upon return. The lighting was a bit lacking and the AC didn’t seem to work. But since it was winter it was okay. Thanks

It’s ok at best. Room and overall atmospheric seemed a bit dated and I prefer contemporary places. It didn’t fill me with joy and will probably stay elsewhere in future.

Upgraded to suite, huge space. Clean cosy and great service

The room was very small, the mattress was too soft (you could sink in it) and the pillows were not comfortable. The worst was the isolation: they gave us rooms on the 1st floor with window not isolated facing Portland St. which is a big avenue. I couldn’t close the eyes the night because of the noise of the cars and buses. The window doesn’t isolate the noise and the room neither as I could hear all the activity in the corridor. I will think twice on going again there for the price we paid

First room was first floor on the front of the hotel. Glazing is poor/non-existent and the noise from the street too much. Traffic and people! Requested to be moved which was happily accommodated. Only to be put in a room with a noisy radiator and the thermostat valve on the floor not the radiator??! No way to turn of or shut it up. Like having a tap running next to the bed. Moved again. Same old radiotors. Less noisy but still cant turn it off. Gave up and slept the best i could.

The main criticsm is the TV. Could not use etc netflix etc on there and the channels on the TV were very basic. Other than that all very good

Really nice place with great amenities and lovely breakfast. The room was quite hot because the window doesn’t open but there was air con available to rectify the issue.

Decent hotel in a good location, large room for a reasonable price. Perhaps needs a bit of updating and refurbishment, the bedroom floor was uneven for example, but perfectly comfortable.

Some of the staff was excellent like Paris in the bar and her collegue (a man from latvia that i didnt catch the name of). Other was unwilling to help us. We aske for a quilt or even an extra sheet but according to the man in the reception they didnt have any. Our friends on the other hand got one, so it seems strange that a hotel of this size only had one extra. When we asked for help to make a reservation at a restaurant they didnt want o help us because "they might ask for details". The breakfast was also not very good, with overcooked eggs and uncooked bacon. Hower the location is great nearby the gay village.

Stayed one night for a work evening event. The hotel itself is lovely, the staff were friendly and welcoming and the room I was allocated met my request to be near other colleagues staying over and on the quieter side of the building. Staff were very accommodating in that respect so all good there. The room was spacious, clean, quiet with air conditioning you could control and that worked, comfy bed. The bathroom had everything you would need, good shower over bath, nice big bath towels and very clean. I would have given a higher rating however on the morning of checkout I was in my room in my night wear and on the phone when I heard someone open my room door and let themselves in. 2 men (turned out they were new guests) came in and on seeing me asking who they were, they apologised and left. I then hear a knock at the door, it was a staff member asking who I am, they needed to check my name!! No apology for the earlier intrusion. I felt like I was being accused of something. I then went to return hair straighteners to my colleague but I then couldn’t get back into my room and had to go back to my colleagues room to call reception because my key card no longer worked. A staff member came up to let me back in, I asked why someone else was given keys to my room, again no apology, but said because I had requested a different room their system was still showing the original room so they thought the room I was in was empty - my fault? Lone female VERY UNHAPPY, not good enough.

Unfortunately only 1 person on check in on a busy Saturday afternoon meant I waited 45 mins as I was behind a large group checking in separately. There should be more staff at check in at peak times.

Great friendly staff, clean room, will definitely stay again

On arrival on 02/06 receptionist appeared to be unhappy to be there. No greeting or even a smile, fill form in and there’s your key. It didn’t disappoint us as looking forward to seeing Elton John! Did not say about free wifi also. Just felt first line desk and first impressions do count. Like welcome to our hotel and even a smile maybe. This was approximately 14.00 hrs on 02/06 so did not her name. Room was fine bed so comfortable fab. Breakfast was ok , sausages could be a better quality and the bacon that’s my only complaint as they appeared cheap. Overall a good stay and would stay again no problem if in Manchester Just sort front of house on greetings for new arrivals Thank you Mr Mrs Arnold

Stayed as a weekend away and chose the hotel based on reviews and location. Hotel is ideally located, very close to transport restaurants shopping.

Hotel in great location for theatre trip and easily walkable from Piccadilly train station. Checked in early and left our bags as rooms not ready but we didn’t expect them to be. Staff lovely and helpful throughout the stay. Rooms comfortable and clean although l little warm overnight (personally). Air con a little loud so wouldn’t have slept through. Breakfast was very pleasant and hot. Young lady in restaurant was friendly and very helpful. Only thumbs down in my opinion was the coffee ☕️. Could do with better coffee!! Checkout was as simple as check in and the team at the hotel were as pleasant as our stay.

The hotel was clean and in a perfect location for what we wanted. In walking distance to train Station, shopping and places to eat.

A great property. Very welcoming staff, less than 10 minutes from Piccadilly gardens for a nice meal or shopping. The rooms are spacious and comfy. The breakfast is delicious, buffet style with many options.

BREAKFAST VERY POOR HOT FOOD COLD

Re the food - in the afternoon the £12 salad + £4 chicken amounted to three small Chinese lettuce leaves with 3 cherry tomatoes and a bit of parmesan cheese. It was a complete joke at £2 per leaf and £2 per cherry tomatoes - breakfast meat was really overcooked so could not eat it The recommended car park was useless - I could not charge my EV car causing major problems. I visited the carpark 3 times to try. You should not recommend QPark Overall everything was okay with room etc.

Very good for central accommodation - not very well served by the restaurant and bar, and much of breakfast was cold. But there are plenty of good places nearby.
