Great location and value! Rooftop pool has very nice views and is a fun bonus :)

We selected this hotel for our short stay in Montreal because of favorable reviews and parking availability (although in the end we opted for the valet parking at $35 a night. Oh well. We didn't need our car in Montreal). Anyway, great room, professional staff, good location. No major complaints. Rooftop pool and patio area are amazing. There could be very long waits for the elevator. We were on the 10th floor, so we waited, but the elevators were busy most of the time. We are budget travelers and with taxes added, Canada lodging is not cheap. When planning our trip, we found this hotel to be one of the more affordable options in Centre-ville, Montreal.

Excellent service. Helpful, polite staff. Comfy beds. Great location. Rooftop pool and terrace wonderful.

Everything about the hotel is great except the elevators are so slow that you spend a lot of your time waiting for them, perhaps an hour out of your day just to leave and come back to the hotel.

The hotel was very nice and staff were friendly. The biggest problem was the elevators. Too small and slow for a 28 story building. Rooftop pool was very nice and well-maintained!

The hotel itself is a bit dated but kept well. The biggest issue were the elevators. During check-in and check-out were the worst. The line could literally be out the door waiting for the elevators. There were 3 of them. I think it was because the pool was on the top floor and many people were trying to access it. We stayed on the 23rd floor so the stairs were not an option. The food options by the hotel were great. Both walking distance and Uber Eats. Our favorite restaurant around the corner of the hotel was Le Taj. Parking is limited for SUVs (which is what we had), so we had to find another parking lot. We just stayed in that lot the whole time.

Hotel Le Cantlie is an affordable accommodation near McGill University and Eaton Centre. The reasons we booked this property were the location, appealing price, and accommodation for 5 people in one suite. Our accommodation was clean and spacious. Unfortunately at this price point there are some drawbacks- the elevators are old, small and slow, so there were very long waits during the early morning hours, check out hours, check in hours and evening hours. Because of this, families with strollers and wheelchair and walker users will struggle without an alternative. We were on the 8th floor and ended up using the stairs every day- not an option for those on the higher floors. The pool… the poolside towels were not restocked throughout the day. After reaching the top floor, we’d have to wait for the elevator to go back down to our rooms to retrieve towels. Check in and check out times were very slow with long lines and slow (but very polite) service at the front desk. The pull out bed…. The supposed 5th sleeper… it was about 20 years old and the most uncomfortable sleeping surface we’ve ever encountered. If you’re looking for a good location at a lower price point and have a lot of time and patience, this hotel will work for you.

A great place to stay, reasonable, close to Mc Gill, Bell Centre, Eaton Centre and other restaurants / shopping, good size rooms with kitchenettes, nice exercise equipment, restaurant is tasty, valet parking is quick and the hotel staff (front desk and other) are great. Polite, knowledgeable and and very responsive to any issues or needs.

Hotel facile à trouver avec voiturier pour garer votre véhicule si vous prenez le parking. chambre spacieuse calme et propre avec kitchenette. Bar restaurant salle de sport et piscine au dernier étage. Restaurants magasins assez près en marchant un peu.

Rooms are somewhat dated and tired. Appreciate the excellent cleaning staff though.

Clean room , although 1 pillowcase still had a stain on it after it had been laundered. Reception staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Restaurant staff not so great and wouldn’t recommend dining there. Food was mediocre to say the least.

Courteous. Problem w broken showerhead but they will address it after check out. Room was spotless.

Room was ok. A bit outdated. Rugs could’ve replaced. Heavy drapery. Bathtub was old and looked filthy. I’m sure it wasn’t. But needs to be upgraded. Beds are super comfy. Housekeeping was good. Front staff very helpful and friendly.

I have stayed at this property several times and have had minimal complaints. This time the room was not up to the regular standards. There was jams or whatever not cleaned up from the previous guests leaked under the glass tops, the stove top burners were very rusty and the painting on the walls looked dingy. We had to ask for the tv to be fixed twice before it was done. Upon leaving I told the clerk all this, their response was to email their customer service with my complaints. This property is my go to place in Montréal and I have recommended it to several people. It was disappointing.

Clean room but not sound proof

Hotel was decent and well located. Number of elevators was adequate. I liked the fact that there were balconies. Overall decor was not too outdated. However I found the Wi-Fi (at least on my floor) to be weak. I was lucky that I had a good unlimited data plan for my cellular connection. Also, for a junior suite, the TV was too small and not conveniently placed for when one was on the bed. Finally, I am not a fan of 4pm checkin times.

Fantastic location. Staff was very friendly and responsive. Room was great except for heating system, which wasn't working properly (after first night only got cool air from the vent).

Big and spacious rooms. Hotel is in a good location (very central). Staff is pretty friendly and that’s it. Otherwise, hotel is definitely showing its age. Rooms and hallways are on the darker side. Floors and carpets aren’t very clean. Shower, toilet and sink are very slow to drain. My room also had a weird smell. Worst of all are the elevators. It will take you forever to get anywhere! Will I stay here again? Probably not.

This is a nice hotel. Great location, but the beds are terrible (very hard). Our room did not have a fridge.

Our view was of a neighbouring building undergoing exterior renovation. Our air conditioning did not work, during a heat wave. The bathroom exhaust fan did not work, so a shower will fill the room with steam. Elevators were very slow. Walls were very thin, you could hear everything in the next room.

Liked having the kitchenette. The room was spacious, good view of the city from the rooftop pool. Laundry facility (do your own) The bathroom didn’t have enough room for setting down toiletries. The lighting was dull as well though they had a makeup mirror.

Great location, very good shower and gym, has valet for car (reasonable cost), spacious room. All in all a very nice place and reasonably priced.

The room was spotless how ever the air conditioning unit was very noisy and could not sleep well with the noise .

loved the little kitchen and the location was perfect. Pull out couch could have been more comfortable though!

We were very happy withour stay. The highlight would be the customer service, which was 5 star all the way!! Thank you to the staff for making it a wonderful stay!

Everything was great start to finish. We got there about 2 hours early to check in and the kind lady allowed us to leave our luggage with the staff so we could go grab a bite to eat. When we got back the room was ready and they put me on a high floor like I requested. Everything was clean, comfortable and seamless. Will stay again.

I always make it a point to stay at this hotel when visiting Montreal. The staff going above and beyond is always what makes it for me, though the vibe of the hotel at large is also immaculate. This time, they let me check in a full FIVE HOURS before check-in time; more or less as soon as housekeeping had finished making it ready after the previous guest left. Definitely coming back here next stay.

Unfortunately I had made arrangements to have something set up for my partner and myself but they did not do anything and stopped answering when I sent messages. Was a nice hotel but ultimately I was disappointed in the fact they did not respond to my messages and did not follow through on what was promised.

We are truly heartbroken on how unfriendly, disconnected, and unempathetic the staff has been. We booked a vacation for our family of 5 to explore a city that we researched together and learned the language of. Incredibly unexpectedly my mother in law needed heart surgery. We called the hotel after settling the details of what she needed and they didn’t miss a breath in saying we would loose all of our money for the hotel. Full discretion- we did not get insurance or a refundable rate because this incident was beyond our conception. The hotel staff quickly dismissed me, and refused to talk further about the situation. I reached out to Expedia who was kind and compassionate for our situation. They took thorough time trying to argue with the hotel on our behalf and they would not budge. Human compassion is important, more so than an overpriced hotel making extra money. I would not recommend anyone stay at a hotel where the consideration for daily needs will not be met.

Very well priced for the excellent location! 10min walk to the Bell Centre.

Had a wonderful weekend at this hotel. Excellent location, walking distance to the Metro, McGill University, Eaton Centre and plenty of restaurants. Clean rooms and all the staff are very polite and attentive. Will definitely be back!

Excellent location near Peel Metro and good restaurants. Staff friendly. Room clean. An old-fashioned heating unit in the wall a bit noisy, so we didn't use it.

Arianne, the waitress, at the breakfast buffet was great even though she was alone. No one to help her. She kept apologizing for her service. We told her not to apologize, it was out of her control. So we said Thanks for the great service and gave her a nice tip.

I preferred it because of the suites but it wasn't what I expected. The living area side layout wasn't inviting at all and we didn't want to spend any time there. The property is old and needs major upgrading with very old carpets etc. Staff was nice but no uniformity in service (some leave teas, some don't, some replenish toilet tissues, some don't, didn't change the soiled sheet the whole week even though i asked etc etc). Also we were exhausted when we got there and were dying for room service. There is an excellent restaurant in the hotel amd we wanted to order and get it delivered to the room but they don't! We had to drag ourselves down in pajamas and order and bring our own food. They dont even add the in hotel breakfast to your bill... I personally would not stay there again.

Museum of fine arts down the street and close to the metro and not far from Notre Dame de Montreal. Fantastic place to stay. Thank you to everyone on the staff for being so helpful and kind.

The room was very nice and clean. Granted it was a busy Labour Day weekend so difficult for hotel staff to keep hallways clean. Buffet breakfast was a disappointment with the hot dishes. Otherwise a pleasant stay and would recommend.

Hotel needs a refresh. Check in was good, room was as expected but needs updating. Everything was clean and bed was comfortable. Kitchenette was missing dishes and toaster did not work. Most disappointing aspect was breakfast. Food and tea was barely warm. My omelette was burnt, spouses tea was warm not hot. No condiments offered or on table, no one came to check to see if food was ok. Our friends had the buffet and were also not pleased with similar complaints. I would suggest go to Cora’s or eggspetations for a full breakfast

A very solid experience, smooth check in, clean room, responsive staff, comfortable bed, kitchen was compact and well stocked. Things to know: the breakfast in the hotel is busy and expensive - also the elevators are small, so they are often very busy. The location is excellent and the important parts were great - I would stay here again.

A very beautiful hotel with a very kind and helpful staff, which made us limited French speaking travellers feel much more at home. The hotel definitely made our trip in Montreal, le Mezz had a great all you can eat breakfast and a great dinner menu and the room we stayed in was very clean and proper. Our child especially loved the rooftop pool and the views of Montreal from the rooftop is absolutely breathtaking, overall a wonderful experience we would recommend over and over again.
