Parking was over capacity, the secondary car park does not feel as secure. A few leaks about the place in the heavy rain. Just shows age. Good food options though. And obviously a fantastic location. Make sure to book ahead if you want to get a massage or treatment, can be busy.

I have always liked this hotel for its swimming pool. But this time the pool was too cold, while the hot funds were too hot to get into, with no instructions on how to work the spa bubbles. The internet connection is terrible. You have to stand in the corridor or sit near reception to get any useful connection. The foyer bar was closed. Post COVID staff shortages.

We were so disappointed with this property. We booked due to them advertising a hot tub and onsite Spa and extended our planned stay in Rotorua by an extra day to give ourselves time to enjoy the facilities. We were looking forward to a relaxing soak and booking in massages so we were incredibly disappointed when we discovered on arrival that under-16’s were not permitted in the hot tubs or Spa and that the Spa was not even open on the days of our stay. The “heated” pool was tepid so again, very disappointed. Walking through the hotel trying to get to poolside bar, pool, etc,,,,many access routes were closed for renovations and signage was non-existent for detours. This hotel advertised as being child-friendly; it most certainly was not. Felt we wasted the extra day we could have moved on to another place to explore. Would not return.

Everything about this hotel was perfection! The rooms were clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. The hotel is huge, and we always got a park in the parking area. The pool and hot pools were quiet and relaxing, and the hotel bar makes a delicious negroni. It's close to lots of good spots to eat in Rotorua, we felt very relaxed here!

Well located hotel, 2 min walk to Polynesian Spa. On-site parking. We loved the indoor-outdoor heated swimming pool, and the restaurant offers a nice buffet breakfast. Enjoyed a nice dinner in the hotel restaurant, which was very quiet.

Free parking in great location. The room had great space, was clean and new. Great amenities including pool and hot pool in spa. Would stay there again. Stayed in room with view, but it was just the parking of the Polynesian Spa - would not recommend spending extra on that, nor for breakfast. Unfortunately, the breakfast offerings were not great (taste and variety) with bad coffee (better one was extra). Of note: The hotel was getting work done. Thankfully, the construction was not noticeable in terms of noise. I think it will be all better once completed. Would consider staying again if back in Rotorua!

This hotel had an indoor heated pool. It was a good size, child friendly and warm. There were no changing rooms so we had to get changed in our room and walk through the hotel to the pool. The room was an okay size and the beds were very comfortable. The room did feel very dark and the bathroom felt like you were in a basement. The cleanliness was disgusting especially in the bathroom and shower. The shower had slimy pink bacteria on the tiles and in the grout. When we wiped them, this came off which means it hadn't been cleaned for a while. Our child refused to step in the shower since it was so dirty.

Rooms are very small since renovation. Very small. There is only one tiny bin in the bathroom with no liners and are not clean. Nor was the tile behind it.. we couldn't locate an ice maker and rang the front desk. I was provided an ice bucket, filled with ice, but someone had clearly vomited in and it wasn't properly cleaned. The pool is great. Some sharp and dangerous edges of tile for the wee ones, the staff tried hard and were lovely. Just wasn't what it used to be.

Most staff were kind of rude (save for a few who were friendly and helpful). The bathroom was barely acceptable when it came to cleanliness - there was pink mould in most of the grout as well as dusty corners everywhere. The swimming pool was quite warm and the 16 hot pools area was decently nice - the spa ladies were lovely and helpful. Worst part is probably the cleaner on checkout morning who started knocking while we were asleep at 8:30am to see if we had left, in total she knocked like three times well before checkout which was annoying. Checkout was easy breezy. 5.7/10 wouldn't come again

We booked 2 rooms via Expedia. The rooms were shabby but clean. There was no internet available in the rooms. (1st floor)When we pointed this out, the reception rebooted the router with no luck. After a bit of hassle the manager got involved and we got moved to the 4th floor. Much nicer rooms and wifi! I believe because we booked indirectly ie Expedia we were given poor rooms initially. Not good enough really!

Average wifi in the room and the rooms definitely aren’t sound proof. So bring ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper! Design of the room is interesting. If we turned the basin tap on cold, it smashed into the bathroom mirror. Interesting design decision! Breakfast was good. Typical hotel buffet style. Nothing amazing but it’s convenient.

Room was too small for two queen beds . There were no drawer space to put clothes in . Having safe almost on the floor was difficult to operate . Lots of noise from banging doors and rooms were not soundproofed .Woken each morning at 6.30am when people were leaving for breakfast.

I love the new rooms. Great layout for business travel with a desk that looks out to the view and nicely decorated. I like how the hot pools are adults only. Perfect to unwind after a busy working day. Definitely be sure to get a new room, as the old rooms are getting a bit tired.

Admittedly during slow season, we initially booked for one night, then before arrival added a second night, due to hotel proximity to a spa we planned to visit. We wanted a relaxing 2 nights with comfy bed and bathroom, while passing through the area in a camper van. Upon check in, staff informed us of construction in a nearby wing, but no other issues. Checking into the room, it was stiflingly hot, and the hotel Wi-Fi did not work. When ansked about the WiFi, staff said they’d restart it, but nothing improved - It was unusable. We turned the air conditioning on, but it ultimately did not cool. After an uncomfortable night, we asked staff to look into it and left for the day. Upon our return, staff had clearly come to the room but turned off the air. When we inquired with the front desk, they said there was actually an issue with the whole building and offered to bring us a portable fan. For the level of stars / service this hotel advertised, it clearly was running off-season and was not upfront with guests about known issues. What should have been a comfortable relaxing stay was more inconvenient, and we opted NOT to stay the second night. Finally, expected a hotel of this level to provide bottled water to guests. Offering a carafe of tap water (fine to drink, but smells sulfuric, as all the natural tap water in the area does) or purchasing expensive glass bottles from the usually understaffed hotel bar did not meet at the level of care we expected.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Millennium Rotorua as we celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary. The hotel surprised us with a thoughtful welcome gesture of wine and chocolates, and even allocated us a room with a fantastic lake view. Truly appreciated the effort to make our stay special. The location is excellent just a short walk to Polynesian Spa and a quick drive to many eateries and restaurants. The weather at night can get quite cold and the heater in our room didn’t seem to work very well. Thankfully, the concierge team was very helpful and promptly provided us with a portable heater, which made a big difference. Special mention to the club lounge butler who was always warm, friendly and attentive. Service was delivered with a genuine smile, and we really appreciated that. The only small area for improvement would be the breakfast selection at the club lounge, which was a little limited. It would be even better with more hot options like hash browns and fried eggs. Overall, it was a memorable and enjoyable stay. Thank you for making our anniversary trip extra special.

I would not recommend. I stayed with my two children. The air conditioning and room safe were broken. We were offered a new room, which we accepted, but no one offered to help shift our belongings at 9pm at night. The new room was next to construction which was noisy in the morning. No apology or acknowledgement by staff at check out.

Customer Service terrible, my rather expensive Mercedes got damaged while parked in front of the entrance under the car port. CCTV cameras pointing straight at my car. Notified front desk staff immediately and was promised investigation, hours later still nothing, followed up with staff again at night, still nothing. Next day promised again and again by different staff different stories. Left all my correct contact details with different staff on numerous occasions, still nothing. On check out duty manager again promised they would investigate and come back to me. Now writing this review 3 days later and still haven’t received any form of contact or feedback. Appalling customer service. Left with insurance bill now!!😭😭😭 quick to take your credit card details but ZERO customer service skills. CUSTOMER BE AWARE!!

Shower would literally change temperature hitting you with scalding water. No other water running in room, and no toilet flushing. I mentioned it, girl at front desk didn’t even apologize… Our door wouldn’t open with key…took an hour to get it fixed before we could get dressed and leave for activities we had planned. We asked if it would be possible to get a coffee as compensation. The answer was quick and definite: NO! Terrible. If you want to be treated like trash, go ahead and book here.

Check in was very slow and took an hour due to a computer system being down. Room key was broken but they fixed it pretty promptly. Room was quite far away to walk to, particularly with two young kids. Didn't have enough towels and had to request more. It was good otherwise.

The only thing to improve would be the breakfast buffet - the continental side of the buffet in particular is lagging behind other hotels I stay in. But this wouldn't stop me staying here again in future. The hotel property is spacious and our refurbished room was great - comfortable beds and a nice outlook over the garden. Easy walking distance into Rotorua central area.

We enjoyed a fabulous view of Lake Rotorua. The hotel is located close to the Polynesian Spa and just 2 short blocks to the principal street of Rotorua. The public rooms and courtyard garden are very attractive. Our room was not new but quite clean and well equipped. Plenty of parking.

Expedia is still showing an option for paying extra for “Lounge Access”. Except the Lounge is currently closed. Hotel staff were unconcerned, “Linda” from Expedia was helpful but failed to contact the hotel which was needed for a price adjustment. So paid extra for something that wasn’t available. Staff could not care less when mentioned. More generally, not a great experience. Breakfast was understaffed and pretty poor quality and levels of service across the hotel were pretty bad. Room was clean and reasonably well equipped but the general feel was that none of the staff could really be bothered. Would avoid the entire chain again
