The hotel was beautiful and in a perfect location in the colonial district of Santo Domingo I liked the sitting area in the pool area. There were, round tables under trees lit up at night so we had a place to play games.

Amazing hotel! Historic feel with modern amenities. Free daily drinks were a nice touch, as was the pool and free parking. The area is under construction so it's a bit confusing to get to the hotel by car. The TVs in the common areas were under par for such a beautiful hotel with outstanding service.

Great location, close to plaza colonial. Good restaurant onsite, loved the pool and poolside bar. Courteous staff. The roof in our room leaked after a heavy downpour on our 4th day, they immediately upgraded us to a nice room.

There was an event Wednesday night and the music was incredibly loud. We had a tour booked the next morning at 5 AM. When I called the front desk they were very short and said the music would end at 11 PM but they would go ask them to turn it down. The music volume did not go down and when I called back, they ignored my call twice. While I understand that they cannot stop events, I would have preferred to know ahead of time so we did not book that tour on Thursday or so we could have been asked to switch rooms. The hotel was quite expensive, in our opinion. While it was beautiful, breakfast was fine, service was good, and it had a good location, there were small things that made me really question the price- the safe was broken, the gym and pool were small and the AC in the gym did not work, and room was small and it always smelled musty, especially after turning on the AC.

Comfortable and clean hotel. The staff is fantastic. Good breakfast and convenient fitness room. The wifi is working very well everywhere. The room was good, and even if it was at the street level, very quiet, an addition of curtains would be great, as I needed to close the windows door to have some privacy The bar and restaurants would be convenient and solid options even if the cocktails were not top craft. excellent price/quality

I loved this hotel. It's a bit like staying in a museum. And it's close to all the other historic sites in the Ciudad Colonial. The staff were all extremely helpful. The food in the restaurants was very good. Bed and towels were fresh and clean. The only fault I could find was the HVAC, which was noisy at first, but I adjusted the fan down from #3 to #2 setting and it was quiet, so the problem was solved. The lady at the desk called the room after I got in and asked if all was ok. I hadn't noticed the hum by then, but it was all ok. Oh--great shower too!

Beautiful property antique looking but unfortunately has a very musty and humid smell it was very unpleasant and I was not able to rest during my stay do to the unpleasant smell. I made the front desk aware of the issue but nothing was done about it.

The hotel is located in beautiful historic building with nice courtyard and lobby, but the guest rooms all had heavy moldy smell. I checked 4 rooms they all smelled like that, I had to pick a less smelly one to stay. After 1st night stay I started coughing and I had to take allergy medicine! After I checked out of this hotel and arrived in Punta Cana, when I open my luggage all my clothes even the suitcase itself had these terrible moldy smell. that’s how bad it was. The breakfast was ok but the breakfast staff lacked attention to customers and some of them were very unprofessional. I asked for sugar for my coffee, the waitress wouldn’t go to the station to get the sugar set for me instead she just grabbed the sugar set from next table even there were customers still eating their breakfast.

its very well situated... that said 3 days later our whole stuff still smells like humid, the floors in the room were filthy, the internet was super bad, the A/C couldn't keep up with the heat so it just rattled ALL night so we could'sleep because of the heat, the noise and the smell.... I loved the hotel, the location and the excellent service. I did NOT like my room. I asked for a quiet room with a single. Mine had a queen bed with an unwieldy set of bedding and quantity of pillows. It was one of six with a balcony opening to a very noisy street and an inner door that didn't shut completely.

Good hotel overall. Great location and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I wasn’t impressed with the breakfast quality. I found it overpriced for the quality and taste. There are better options outside. The bed was too firm for my preference and not comfortable, my wife was fine with it though.

I very much like this hotel but please be aware the rooms next to the main road are noisy. The road noise throughout the night is significant if you are in certain rooms. Check-in staff need to give more thought to when these rooms are assigned, especially if the hotel is not full. Otherwise this is a great hotel.

We had an incredible experience at Hodelpa Nicolás de Ovando. The staff was exceptionally friendly, particularly Felix at the front desk. The common areas were always spotlessly clean and well-maintained, while the rooms were spacious and meticulously kept. The hotel’s location was also convenient, as it was extremely walkable to all the museums in the colonial zone and various dining options. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our stay and have already recommended this hotel to our friends and family. We would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay again. It was an exceptional experience, and we give it a perfect 10/10 rating.

Wonderful and beautiful hotel with excellent location. Don’t bother paying for breakfast, it is uninspired and expensive. In fact stay completely away from the restaurant - they delivered a paella that took them over an hour, and made is horribly sick. No offer to take it off the bill at checkout. What a disgrace for a place like this.

I recently stayed at Hodelpa Nicolas Ovando and I can confidently say it is one of the best properties I have ever visited. From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming, making the check-in process seamless.The room was immaculate, spacious, and featured thoughtful touches like plush bedding and we had our son unexpectedly joining us and they accommodated him with a very comfortable roll away bed. Every member of the team went out of their way to ensure our needs were met. I also highly recommend the breakfast at the on-site restaurant—every meal was exceptional and beautifully presented.
