Tranquility Bay Resort

The property was beautiful and quiet during our 2 day visit. The restaurant for dinner was amazing. The property could have more chairs/umbrellas available as most were filled early although the place did not feel crowded. The 3 BR waterfront was spacious and comfortable. For the pricing it would be great if they upgraded a few things like the shower head, keep entrance areas inside freshly painted and check loose deck boards. The small beach area was cute, however had a bit of seaweed so my kids were not interested in the cove. Nice outdoor games on beach.

Be aware that there is $65.00 daily resort fee, plus 18% gratuity on anything you order. Nice pools, private beach, very clean and beautiful resort. Our room was clean and super spacious (4 balconies) super comfortable beds. Customer service wasn’t the best. It was difficult to communicate with front desk as they would pick up and quickly hang up the phone. Bar tender at the tiki beach bar was rude and unwelcoming, drinks were expensive and horribly made. There is no lost and found, my son if you loose something you need to fill out a request online on their web site and takes 2 days for them to review it. Most of the guest that stay here do not live at the FL keys and are not coming back here just to recover a pair of sandals. Front desk staff refuses to check in their lost and found. Overall this is a very nice resort but it would be even better if they had friendlier staff working here.

How to get a 5 Star!!!!!!! Very very easy………a bathroom!!!!!! This is unbelievable for such an amazing, beautiful, classy resort!!! There is NO bathroom even close to the beach or pools. NO Bathroom!!! We love to lay at the beach for the day but consistently had to go back to our room to do it. The worst part was the wonderful beach bar (on the beach) has no bathroom. We had dinner and drinks and listened to a wonderful singer but guess what???? We had to go back to the main lobby….no lights on the path…..or go back to the room. Really!!!! When asked the employees….they all agree. One actually said if I had to go…go in the water…. Now……check in was great! We had the “hotel room” which they only have 8 and on the back side of the property BUT it was fantastic. Roomy with a great porch. The front restaurant was an expensive dining so we eat at the beach bar which was wonderful. No breakfast served on resort! The beach is nice and the pool is wonderful. Very tranquil and a beautiful resort.

Property was clean, beds comfortable, nice amenities. Beach is scenic, main pool area is well maintained. We had a great stay and would return here. However, one comment to make is that the restaurants onsite were extremely way overpriced. For example, I ordered 3 frozen drinks at the Tiki bar (2 virgin, 1 alcoholic) - it cost $50, including 18% gratuity automatically added (never before have I spent that much on Pina coladas!). I imagine that's why the bar was empty the majority of the time, as was the main restaurant on site.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had an amazing stay at Tranquility Resort and Spa! The ambiance and amenities are truly top-notch. The spacious accommodations, complete with two back decks and an in-room washer and dryer, made our stay incredibly comfortable and convenient. The resort has a great mix of features, including a lovely "private" beach and a tiki bar that were perfect for relaxation. Unfortunately, the Lagoon Pool was unexpectedly closed during our visit, which was disappointing since we had an 8-year-old with us. The other pool was adults-only, so we missed out on some pool time. However, the staff were understanding, and when we requested a refund of our daily resort fee at check-out, they promptly refunded it without any hassle. Despite the pool issue, we thoroughly enjoyed the serene atmosphere and fantastic amenities. Overall, it’s a wonderful spot for both families and adults looking for a peaceful getaway!

Excellent beach and beautiful pool. Fun water activities and helpful staff!

We stayed in a 3 bedroom waterfront villa for six nights. The villa was very clean and functional with a great kitchen and plenty of space for four people. Housekeeping service was always around when you needed something -- even though they were English-challenged and spoke mostly Spanish, this didn't hamper their friendliness and efficiency. We spent most of our time in the relaxation pool as the beach and larger pool will filled with noisy children. Didn't take advantage of the onsite restaurant or recreation activities as there was just too much available within a 10 minute drive. The property looks a little worn and could use some upgrades. Little things like locks on ocean facing doors not wanting to latch easily, foot rinsing spigots not working, blinds that wouldn't close without motivation, televisions with odd setups or poor operation, and a parking lot not sized for larger vehicles. Not sure the value was the best for what was offered. If you are looking for a quiet, centrally located accommodation that can comfortably sleep 4 or more people, and want to cook some (or all) of your meals to save money, this is the place. I would save some cash by booking an ocean view room the next time as the waterfront and beachfront villas don't offer that much more of an experience.

Very nice hotel, but pay attention to the additional fee that comes. I was not “sharp” enough and overlook these when I booked, including that the whole facility is smoke free, means you have to go all the way to the street to smoke and NO place inside the facility is allowed. I understand and respect that, but for me that is not a recommendation and is a downside that there are no room for that. For that price - I would have chosen and option with a “dark corner” where all the “outlaws” could stand and be ashamed 😁 Beside that good facility, in the high end of price.

The hotel was gorgeous. The only complaint was that the villa had a lot of ants, so we had to be extra careful about leaving food out.

Tranquility is a most beautiful property but the unit #12 needs updated and a good cleaning, The floors were dirty and the toilet has mold in it also I did let the front desk know all of this upon arriving there were termites on the floor near the doors that open onto deck! The price per night $800.00 we paid does not reflect the the standard we would expect!

Tranquility Bay is a beautiful property with great amenities and social areas that are perfect for spending quality time with family. The setting is peaceful, and the combination of multiple pools and close proximity to the beach made our stay very convenient. The location, especially being so close to Miami, is definitely a plus. However, the cleanliness of the home left a lot to be desired. At first glance, everything appeared tidy, but on closer inspection, we found hair scattered throughout the house—including large clumps under the beds that clearly didn’t belong to us. With young children in our group, hygiene was especially important, and the lack of thorough cleaning was disappointing. We reached out to the property management team, shared photos, and even provided feedback about a broken oven handle and deteriorating front panel, but unfortunately received no response or follow-up. For a property marketed as a premium stay with premium pricing, the service and attention to detail—particularly regarding cleanliness and maintenance—fell short of expectations. Overall, while the location and setting are lovely, we were let down by the lack of cleanliness and the unresponsiveness to our concerns. Even after proving a review. I am able to provide images

Dirty bathroom, very tiny bathroom!

I saw a cockroach in the bathroom, I didn't expect it.

Resort itself is beautiful but rooms are in rough shape! Not been updated in 20+ years according to front desk. Boy does it show. Well disguised on website, social media. Pictures online do not capture aging, neglected guestrooms. Cleanliness was not there. Marks on the walls and messy, quick fixes. Caulking up the walls + where trim meets walls really illustrated minimal amount of attention they have given rooms. Mold in coffee maker, they were quick to supply new one (but did not take moldy one ??). Electricity did not work in half the unit, husband located the breakers. Had annoying fruit flies length of stay. They were there before we arrived. Part of life, but it was constant. Source was garbage disposal. Housekeeping was very late in day which meant no clean towels. One day they took the used pool towels + forgot to replace with new ones. No big deal but when we went to front desk they told us we could get new ones only when housekeeping came thru to swap the towels. Had to explain they didn't leave any from day before, took the used ones, and didn't clean til late in the day. FYI, pool towels not offered at pools. One day housekeeping came thru at 5pm, just as we came home from long beach/pool day so we missed dinner reservations. Food...there is no breakfast served onsite. No reservations available at onsite restaurant. Tried speaking w/resort manager but got no where. She was well-versed with retorts leading us to believe she deals with complaints constantly.

Beautiful places quiet , but the villa are not clean

The room had a very heavy smell of bleach.

The property was beautiful and very well taken care off. Service at Tiki bar and around pool area was extremely good. Service in rooms was not good, didn't clean kitchen, make beds or clean my bathroom. We didn't eat at the restaurant which looked beautiful but was only open at night for an expensive dinner, seemed like waste of a beautiful space with an outside terrace.

The resort was beautiful, the 2 bedroom villa was spacious and clean, the pools are fantastic, and the views were awesome (especially sunset). They offer a yoga class two times a week and Lynne is a great instructor. It was so enjoyable doing yoga on the beautiful grounds. We would definitely stay here again!

Beach house was just as described, beautiful views of the ocean and only steps from the lagoon pool. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Fl keys steak and lobster restaurant is 1/2 mile away with excellent food.

The hotel is beautiful, it has incredible views and spectacular amenities, the villas lack a little maintenance

The resort is beautiful, lovely lagoon pool with great shading from the trees. Pretty beach & white washed wooden buildings, that gives the look of a luxury beach resort. Sprinklers come on regularly, so it’s always lush and green the garden areas. Parking is free & ours was close to the room. Our room was a bit dated, it might of not been used for awhile, as it was dusty & found an old dead bug that looked brittle & dry (looked mummified). The room also had no wardrobe, bath robes, slippers or complimentary shower cap but the bath towels were clean and soft. Our bathroom had a big bath and separate shower, which were both great. The sink taps were squeaky, floorboards might need replacing as they were creaking. So being on second floor it might have been noisy for our neighbours below. Also unless you have travelled light you’ll need to carry your bags up stairs (first to get to front door on the porch, then again to the bedroom area) if you are on the second floor. The staff were kind & welcoming at reception and the beach bar areas. Food was good but pricey.

Perfect location-so close to restaurants and stores along the main road, but yet you feel like you’re in a secluded paradise because the entire resort is surrounded by beautiful palm trees and tropical foliage! Our king garden room was beautiful and quiet and conveniently located next to the small pool which we hung out at 2 of the days during our stay. We loved just about everything and will definitely stay there if we ever return to the Keys. Only 2 minor things we didn’t like: #1 the lack of water pressure in the shower, takes forever to wash the shampoo and conditioner out. #2 lots of seaweed on the beach.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Our unit was a 3 BR water view. The downstairs living area was very spacious and the full-size kitchen was well equipped. Gulf view was terrific from both the lower and upper porches. The pools were great. This is a very quiet resort. Loved the beach and the tiki bar, which had great drinks and food. Will definitely vacation here again.

I did enjoy how nice it was to walk out of the villa and get the pool. However all the fans in the rooms need attention. They are so loud. Also, the villa had a lot of cracked tiles.

We had a lovely stay here. The Villa was well-equipped and spacious. The beds were very comfy. The private beach was very quiet and relaxing.

The main pool area was extremely nice. The bathroom in the Villa were extremely small with nowhere to stage items during the stay. There was no key for the door opening to the courtyard. Therefore, you had to go out the front entrance of the villa and walk a considerable distance to get to the beach or a pool with no clear directions on how to get there.

Terrible service in the front desk

The property had many problems with the gates and our wristband (keys)… which made getting around very inconvenient. And they knew about the problems each time I brought them up and it didn’t seem like they cared to fix the problems.

We recently stayed at this resort and I have to say it was a big disappointment. When we first arrived at 12:30 pm we asked if our room was ready and we were informed it was, but since it was before the 4:00 pm check in time we would have to pay at $100 early check in fee. For the rate we paid per night we were expecting no fee for this and for nice clean room. The room was small with limited storage space to unpack. The beds were HORRIBLE. The mattress was cheap and you started to cave in after a min. The carpet in the room was DISGUSTING. We had to wear shoes at all times because our socks or feet would turn black. There are only two restaurants at this resort. No breakfast restaurant options. We tried to make reservations for the main dining restaurant both before our stay and while we were there. When we called previous we left a message and no one returned our calls. While on the property we tried calling for a reservation as well as showing up, but even as guests we were turned away when there was clearly MULTIPLE tables available. When ordering food at the tiki bar be prepared to wait as food took at least an hour to receive. The main pool and the beach area did not have enough seating for its guests. There was plenty of room for more. No activities for kids for the resort, just pools and the beach. On a positive note the staff was extremely friendly. Overall we would not recommend this hotel.

The property is wonderfully kept. The resort is beautiful. The food in the butterfly restaurant is top notch. The Tiki bar and restaurant is great for an afternoon lunch or a quick dinner. The staff in the restaurants were friendly and always on top of their game. The one monster failure at the resort was house keeping. I was there for 4 nights. They say your room could be made up until 4pm. On 3 of the nights in a row, I had to call the front desk to have my room made up. You are supposed to get 4 bottles of water per day. After getting back to my room after housekeeping left. I again had to call the front desk for water. By the 4th day my coffee cups had run out. So again I had to call. For a 4* hotel this is a total disaster.

Nice place and excellent location on Marathon. Our stay was impacted by them giving us a unit that had the adjacent unit under construction causing extreme noise in our unit. They stopped the construction after we complained, but the next day insulation was all over our unit from the construction next door. They moved us to another unit and offered us 3 days off our stay. I need to speak to someone in Hotels.com to see if this credit was issued as I used my dollars for this stay.

I had a terrible experience due to the staff who was at frontdesk during check-in. His name is Gabriel. Once I arrived at frontdesk he repeatedly kept asking me if I came to the right hotel with a mocking smile/grin. He didnt even care to check my name in the system if I had made reservation. Since it was raining heavily I had requested for an umbrella to help my aged parents from parking to room. He said he didnt have any umbrella but a little later when another guest came and asked for umbrella he went inside and fetched for him. I felt discriminated. I dont understand why Tranquility bay hires people who are racist. Do they even groom their staff on how to treat all guests equally? I paid nearly $700/ day to be illtreated. Other problems: Wifi didnt work in my room which was fixed the next day, the bathroom doors if locked couldnt be opened easily.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this resort! From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and well taken care of. The staff was friendly, professional, and always willing to help with anything we needed. The resort itself is beautiful—clean, well-maintained, and full of great amenities. The pools were a highlight for our family, with plenty of space to relax, play, and enjoy the Florida sunshine. The location was perfect and it felt like a peaceful escape. Our villa was spacious, comfortable, and had everything we needed to feel at home. We especially appreciated the little touches throughout the resort that made the stay feel extra special. This was the perfect place for our family getaway, and we would absolutely come back again. Highly recommend!

We had a lovely stay at Tranquility Bay. The resort was very quiet and clean. The pools were all beautiful and the resort was very well maintained. There is not much nightlife to speak of which is the only downside. We enjoyed live music at TJs but that shuts down around 8pm and they closed the tiki bar then too. All around a beautiful place to stay for both couples and families

Love the location and the ambiance. Wished that the watercraft would have been available. Staff are very attentive and the views from TJ at sunset are memorable.

Our stay at Tranquility Bay was amazing! We stayed in one of the beachfront two-bedroom houses and it was even better than expected! The house was perfect for our family of four, which includes my husband and I and our two daughters - a late-teen and a 9-year old. The full kitchen was great because we were able to buy groceries for most of the week and didn't have to eat out for every meal. We also appreciated the inclusion of a washer and dryer in the second bedroom so we were able to run some laundry before heading home! The private beach and property grounds were beautiful and well-kept, and all staff members we interacted with were incredibly friendly. The resort is immediately next to the Turtle Hospital, which made for a quick walk to such a neat spot. The large lagoon-style pool was great and we spent a lot of time there - we were even lucky enough to get to hang out with some of the iguanas who made the area their home! Overall, I would highly recommend this resort, especially to those traveling with kids. All four of us absolutely loved our time there and were sad when it was time to head back home to the Midwest. The resort's location is great with a 35-45 minute drive north to fun family spots like Robbie's and Islamorada Fishing Company, and just a little over an hour down to Key West. We will definitely be back!

First time here. Parking was really tight unless you have a really small car. Not much to do in Marathon but the hotel was great. Will probably be back!

Nice big rooms. Clean. Comfy beds. Only down fall was restaurants close early even on weekends and the mosquitos almost took me out.

It was great. It’s a very relaxing hotel - not a lot of entertainment but we like it that way. And they are limited on food options. But beautiful and comfortable and we love it

Beautiful resort! Excellent staff. Food and drinks on the resort are way too expensive. For the price, the rooms need upgrades and some repairs.

The dinner restaurant was excellent. The seafood pasta and pork chops were great and the service was impeccable.
