The entrance lobby was so under whelming. At first we thought it was under construction. We were given bottles of water whenever we wanted which was very nice. Room was clean and tidy. Bed and pillows were great. Had nice robes to use while there. Couldn't find the coffee cups the first morning. ha ha They were in a drawer which we didn't realize it was there. Bathroom was great. Loved the night light by the toilet. Shower was great. Only complaint was I have severe allergies and the shampoo, conditioner and bodywash was heavily sented. Husband didn't mind tho. Bar and restaurant was very cozy. Only got take out dessert one night. Location was good. We do not mind walking and we were away from the craziness. Around the corner was the Tasty Toast which was wonderful. Also the is The Flour. We tried eating breakfast here before we headed to the airport. However they didn't open on Sundays until 8. Overall a great stay in Boston.

I would stay here again and again - without exaggeration, the staff at AKA Backbay is by far the friendliest, most authentically welcome hotel staff we have ever encountered. If you’re traveling to Boston, book here!

AKA Back Bay is a beautiful hotel in a fantastic location, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The housekeeping lady on our floor (9th) was absolutely delightful—so warm and kind. The maintenance gentleman who helped with our in-room espresso machine was also exceptionally friendly and helpful. My three-star staff rating reflects our experience with the front desk, where the welcome was noticeably less friendly. In particular, the young woman who handled our checkout was quite rude, which was disappointing given the lovely service elsewhere. We would still happily recommend the hotel, but a warmer, more courteous front desk experience would have made our stay even better. The young woman at the front desk may benefit from some customer service training.

Hotel AKA was the absolute perfect place to stay. I was looking for a hotel that was walking distance to the historical sites and to Fenway at a reasonable price, and Hotel AKA fit that bill. The customer service was outstanding - everyone was so helpful. The room was very clean, and we really liked the coffee maker. There's also a bus service called the Logan/Backbay Express that's free from the airport that gets you to within a few blocks of the hotel, and it's only $3 to take you from the BackBay station to the airport that runs every 30 minutes. If we come to Boston again, we will definitely stay at Hotel AKA.
