This property has an elevator inside the outer door…before you go inside the actual lobby of the hotel. Anyone could go in and not even be witnessed by the staff. The next horrible thing is the bathrooms have a sliding barn door. On one side you can see the mirror which shows the the entire bathroom space including the toilet and shower. From the other side you can see the shower. If it’s just you and your spouse you may not care about privacy but I was there with my nephew and did not appreciate the lack of privacy. The “lock” on the bathroom was pathetic. You can open it with your finger bc of the open space on the sides of the door.. Also, you can pull the door straight back toward you to unlock it. I would never ever stay at the Hampton in Charlottesville again nor would I ever recommend it. The type of potential safety issue with regard to the location of an elevator in the breezeway before you enter the door to the lobby is shocking. I did not feel safe there. That setup endangers everyone in that hotel. Very disappointed.

Just a really well run hotel. Breakfast was great. Easy to get around the city from the hotel. Elevator to upper floors kinda of in an odd location but it works. A lot of value for the price we paid.

I was very unhappy with the cleaning of my room. Floor was vacuum. How i know i was picking stuff up off the floor. Hair on the bathroom floor. Hair in the tub and shower wall. So i cleaned up myself. I've been there before. Never have i ever been so disappointed.

Renee at the front desk was wonderful! My daughter realized she forgot her wallet after we had checked out; everyone was very helpful in our search. The pillows were not great, but I feel that is par for the course with hotels. There were a couple of hairs in the shower, but nothing appeared dirty.

You can hear everything in your room. We also had to wipe down high traffic touched areas when arriving. There was dirty finger prints and makeup stains.

I travel frequently for work and this has to be one of the cleanest hotel rooms I’ve ever stayed in. Fresh clean (not chemical) scent, dust-free, spotless linens - every part of the room was clean. The whole place is modern and well-maintained.

Front desk didn’t mention that cleaning is every other day. So we were surprised that our room was not cleaned when we got back at the hotel. No big deal but only if it was relayed to us during check in that it has to be requested. Because normally hotel rooms are being cleaned daily in most areas as far as we know. Thank you.

Staff was friendly, I've stayed in many Hampton inns across the us and this one just missed the mark. It felt dirty, not up to the Hampton standard. Didn't enjoy the area hotel was located here. Felt very low budget. Not worth the price we paid

This was a room with 2 queen beds accomodating 4 people. It was perhaps the smallest hotel room I have ever had. You could sit on the side of the bed and open the bathroom door which was a sliding door since there was not enough room for a swing door to operate. It was like staying in a matchbox. Very disappointing for a hampton Inn

The staff was absolutely wonderful! We had a large group of family staying at the hotel & the staff made sure we were assigned rooms on the same floor although the accommodations were not reserved as a block. Everyone was pleasant. We had no complaints!

Your typical Hampton Inn, clean with great staff. The front desk clerk helped us to our room, as we were traveling with small children. The staff at breakfast helped my young daughter get her breakfast. Everyone was pleasant and helpful.

From the moment we arrived we felt like this hotel was going to be perfect. Pam and Renee were at the front desk checking folks in. They were so friendly and the check-in was so fast. This stay was at the end of our vacation and we were ready to relax and having the outdoor pool was exactly what we needed. We loved all the dining options around the hotel - we chose the Wood Grill buffet 0.9 miles down the road - great food! There were lots of stores and grocery stores around us. The hotel was quiet, clean and the beds were comfortable. We traveled to Charlottesville because we wanted to visit Monticello. Monticello is about a 16 minute drive down the road but near Interstate 64. Not disappointed with this hotel choice and would definitely recommend it to others traveling with family or alone.

Property was taken ok. barn doors on the bathrooms probably not the best choice. Surrounding property is an abandoned shopping center. Was on 5th floor in hopes of it being somewhat quiet. Teens running and yelling in the hallways all night.

Awesome stay!! The staff, from check-in to check-out, front desk, cleaning, and breakfast, was professional and friendly. The room was super clean. I like the "black out" shades in the rooms. The breakfast had an excellent selection of items (eggs, waffles, sausage, baked goods, good coffee). The room was very quiet even though we were the room closest to the elevator. Would highly recommend.

Our room was exceptionally clean, working AC and window dressings that worked!!! Breakfast was small room but the food was good, hot and well made. The breakfast attendant was cheerful, smiling and very attentive. We spend a great deal of time in Charlottesville as my husband is a patient at UVA and we are required to be there several times a month. We have tried many of the hotels in the area and find this one to be among the best for the price.
