Booked the Amalia for a 5 night city break with friends and all of us were very happy with my choice of hotel. The hotel is very well situated being within walking distance of various visitor attractions including the Acropolis as well as being close to numerous bars and restaurants. Rooms are perhaps a little dated but perfectly functional and comfortable. Breakfast was great, ground floor bar was good for a quick beer and the rooftop restuarant bar offers spectacular views across the city. All in a great experience and I would happily return.

This hotel is in a great location within easy walking distance of many tourist destinations and restaurants. Also all public transportation stops very near by. The hotel is comfortable and quiet and the penthouse bar and restaurant has an amazing view of the Acropolis lit up at night.

The property has a great location and is right next to a lot of the public transportation modes (tram, subway, and bus). The property itself is pretty old and it shows - beds haven't been replaced in some time, bathroom had fixtures that were falling apart, etc. I had two primary issues with my stay: the property claims to have a fitness room and air conditioning. After checking in, I found out that the fitness room is just a bike, treadmill, and one poorly designed machine - no weights whatsoever. As to the air conditioning, you cannot control the settings of your individual room. For example, if the building's unit is on the heat setting, you cannot turn on the AC in your room. The temp they had the heat on was boiling hot and because of the limitations, I couldn't turn on the AC. The only option the property offered was to open the window; however, since they placed me on a busy road and the first floor, this wasn't an option. The staff at the property, including the manager, were all less than helpful with coming up with a resolution. Expedia Support definitely came to the rescue on this one. Be wary of booking this property.

Room decor was dated, carpets in room are extremely dirty and visible stains everywhere. Window drapes also stained and discoloured. Bed and pillows are very clean and comfortable. Bathroom is well equipped but get slight sewer gas smell from drains. Cleaning person friendly and nice. This is a well used downtown hotel. Location is ideal. Hotel arranged a large van for airport transfer and rate was very affordable for large group of 9 plus luggage.

We always choose this hotel. Very nice staff, very good breakfast at the best location in the center of Athens. Toom very nice with a view at the Greek Parliament and National Garden. The only thing that needs upgrade is the carpet inside the room. Very dirty and outdated...

3 stars, definitely not 4. I don't know if they have renovated rooms but mine was extremely outdated with old, stained carpets. Bed was a little worn down but not HORRIBLE. Very convenient location to shops and restaurants. Right across a nice park.

Great location to explore Athens right near the Royal Gardens, very close to Plaka and Monastiraki with good shopping and restaurants. We could see the changing of the guard at the presidential house only a block away. The room was clean, beds and pillows very comfortable. So convenient to have the tram stop right in front. I would definitely recommend for anyone traveling to Greece.

Filthy bathroom, carpet and room. It was disgusting. One room was so bad my friend had to leave the hotel and stay somewhere else. I had to stay in my room, but the smell of the bathroom was so bad that I had to sleep with the window open, and then smelled cigarette smoke from the back. It was a terrible experience.

Nice breakfast buffet, close to everything. Hop on and off bus across street, so also tram service. Airport bus 2 blocks away. What I didn’t like is the small shower stall with plastic curtain. When taking shower, the plastic curtain sticks to your body. Bathroom also small. They only give one complementary small bottle of water per stay. Nice restaurant on terrace which we did not use.

The hotel overall is great. It's in the perfect location opposite the National Gardens & close to everything. The only downside was the teeny, tiny shower stall. The shower curtain just stuck to you the whole time. Small inconvenience for lovely staff and great location.

The hotel was clean, well located, and the staff was friendly. They also had a great breakfast buffet. My only complaints are that the bed was not the comfiest and that the AC was not great... However we were able to request a fan. I would also warn against booking the non-refundable option. If your flight gets moved/cancelled and you have to leave the following day, you will not be refunded. I had a flight issue and was not refunded for my missed night.

Very nice hotel. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We liked the central location. Noise was our only negative. We were on the 6th floor with the restaurant above us. At 11:30 pm, it sounded like they were moving furniture. I’m sure they didn’t realize how the noise was carrying.

We spent our last day/night in Athens here and the services was nothing short of amazing! Every single person we encountered went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and to make us feel welcomed. I told the lady who checked us in that we had an early flight the next morning and she took it upon herself to to have a taxi waiting for us when we went downstairs and they had boxed up breakfast for us to take with us. Truly, over the top great service!

Great location, good breakfast, facilities overall fine. However, reception, housekeeping, and management were very disappointing. Sheets were clearly not changed daily even though we were told they would be. Though we keep our room tidy, housekeeping still managed to remove a SHOE from our room. We called down to the front desk, asking if they could look into it, assuming it was done by accident. Instead we were dismissed and told that we likely dropped the shoe in the garbage or misplaced it. We requested housekeeping to return to our room to review the situation, and they seemed reasonably apologetic, but we received no follow-up. After more complaints from us, the front desk finally called the outside laundry service at our request and the shoe was confirmed to be there! We were glad to have the shoe returned two days later, just in time for our departure, but the hotel reception desk's attitude really left a bad taste in our mouths. CONSTANTINO in particular was rude and dismissive, though we actually had pleasant interactions with him previously. We asked to speak with a manager multiple times without response. We were told we would receive a follow-up by email and have heard nothing. We would have appreciated some understanding about the inconvenience of the situation and the hotel putting some effort into investigating the matter. Instead, we were made to feel like we were unwelcome there and inconveniencing them with our requests.

The manager, Dimitris, and the staff were exemplary during my stay. I came with a group of 12 travelers during a global IT outage and the manner in which they handled the travelers was very kind and patient. I would definitely stay here again. In addition, the view from the rooftop restaurant is absolutely stunning!

We were three adults traveling together and had connecting rooms. The overall appearance/condition/amenities of our rooms were only average. One of the rooms was spacious and the other too small to walk freely around the bed. The staff could not have been kinder nor more helpful. The room was clean, efficient and welcoming. The male receptionist was excellent as well as the morning lady receptionist. I would highly recommend this hotel. Location ideal to everything!

This hotel is at the middle of all attractions, 5 minutes walk from Syntagma square (airport metro/bus stop). It has a rooftop terrace that allow you to see the Acropolis and the parliament building, a easy walk to other ruin sites. Super friendly staff and excellent breakfast. Cannot go wrong staying here visiting Athens.

Booked the Amalia for a 5 night city break with friends and all of us were very happy with my choice of hotel. The hotel is very well situated being within walking distance of various visitor attractions including the Acropolis as well as being close to numerous bars and restaurants. Rooms are perhaps a little dated but perfectly functional and comfortable. Breakfast was great, ground floor bar was good for a quick beer and the rooftop restuarant bar offers spectacular views across the city. All in a great experience and I would happily return.

Beautiful hotel and in a great location, right near a metro station and the bus stop for the express bus to and from the airport. Breakfast was excellent, with a large selection. Rooms were spotless and well appointed and the staff could not do enough for you. As far as the location, it is within close proximity to the Plaka neighborhood with lots of restaurants. It is across the street form the National Garden and it is two blocks away from the Parliament building where you can see the changing of the guard at the tomb of the unknown soldier. I would recommend this hotel highly. I would definitely stay here again if I ever return to Athens

This hotel is in a great location within easy walking distance of many tourist destinations and restaurants. Also all public transportation stops very near by. The hotel is comfortable and quiet and the penthouse bar and restaurant has an amazing view of the Acropolis lit up at night.

The hotel was great, service was excellent and great views from the rooftop restaurant. The breakfast buffet was also excellent. The only negative is we could smell cigarette smoke at times in our room, not sure if that’s typical or if some was coming thru the air vents from an area where someone may have been smoking.

I really like this hotel. I highly recommend it to anyone coming over at Athens.Its clean and people are friendly. The breakfast was awesome so much selection. My kids ate at the rooftop and enjoyed the burgers. The view was awesome. I will definitely come back. The hotel knows how to treat tourist well. Thank you.

The food at the Whispers Lounge was great and we got 10% off. We also got a complimentary bottle of wine when we arriver. Beautiful balcony overlooking the park. Had to leave early to catch a flight and they not only arranged transportation, but also packed up an early breakfast for us since the restaurant had not opened yet. Great stay.
