Red Roof Inn Lansing East - MSU

It was good as far as cleaning and maintenance goes, but they can’t help the people who choose to stay there, and it was a decent experience overall, but it would have been better if the other tenants weren’t outside acting like they had no sense. Kinda uncomfortable being around them.

Rude uncooperative staff

Needs to be deep cleaned; believe it! Weird odor. No continuous fan setting on heater/ac unit. Bedside lamp not working. Electrical receptacle next to sink not working... yes, I tried resetting the gfi. Bed comforter old. Not really close to any decent amenities. No coffee maker. It was quiet, though. And the mattress was solid. In all fairness, we stayed here because of a busy graduation weekend at MSU... my fault for not booking our regular place earlier.

I have never done this before. The proximity of the hotel to MSU was wonderful and the parking was wonderful, but that is the only positive comment I have regarding this hotel. It was filthy and in desperate need of renovation. What was worse was that part of my extended family stayed at the hotel with us and their room smelled so bad that I gagged when I went in. We could not make any changes as we were there for a graduation from MSU on 05/02/2026 and we checked in at 11:00 p.m. We were very disappointed.

Staff was rude. Did not have a handicapped room like I requested. Not vet a ground floor
