Quality Inn & Suites Lake Charles South

On Expedia it was advertised to have breakfast and pool. Completed my check in when daughter read the sign about no pool nor breakfast. When checked in, staff did not verbally state there was no pool nor breakfast. When I said something about false advert, staff stated it was too much work to get it back on Expedia once they were removed. Did not ask if I still wanted to check in. Once we were in the room, decided to stay the 1 night and go somewhere else. Also, staff should undersatnd that we - the guests - do NOT want to hear how your employer kicked you out and that you do not have a way to work. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!! Now I have to figure out how to get my $$$ back for the 2 nights we did not stay!!

The hotel is falling apart. There are workers there fixing it but some of the rooms, they shouldn't allow people in .. we had a room on the second floor with the floor in several weak spots... We then got put on the third floor where there is clear water damage and not very clean. Also there's no breakfast or pool and there hasn't been for quite some time.

We last stayed 7 years ago, since then the Hotel has become run down and unkept. Arrived at breakfast the first morning at 7.00 to a pigsty, rubbish overflowing, juice machine broken, cold eggs, no milk for cereal, no butter or spread for toast. Our room looked like the door had been forced open previously, had a piece of toilet paper shoved in the hole where the peephole/viewer had once been. Probably only half the number of screws securing the door hinges to the frame than the hinges allowed for and the security latch looked like it had been ripped off the door at some point and reattached but not that well. Guest laundry was out of order for our entire 5 night stay. Highly unrecommended!!

Checked in and went to our room. Front desk guy was very friendly and helpful. However, whenever we got to our room we found MOLD in the sofa sleeper, the room stank and the microwave was absolutely disgusting! Their was food left in it from who knows how long ago! I really should have taken photos to prove all of this but I was so disgusted, along with my wife and kids, that we shot out of the room and I asked for another one. Like I said the guy was very friendly at the front desk and he gave us a new room immediately! Second room was much better although the bar wasn’t set high at all! I get that a microwave could have been missed when cleaning the room but mold on the couch took the cake! Breakfast was a joke. Bread and waffles. That’s it. Nothing more except coffee and juice. Never staying here again! Do not waste your money. My kids had fun at the pool but that was absolutely the ONLY thing!

This was discussing mold no mattress in the couch and the suites are not a suite mold in orange juice in the morning pool was closed and no help from staff or Expedia worst experience ever!

The gap under the doors was a bit concerning and seems unsafe. We noticed this on numerous rooms where you could see there were towels shoved in the gaps. We were missing a lightbulb in a lamp and remote for the tv in our room. The elevator wasn’t working. The pool was closed all weekend for unknown reasons and there wasn't breakfast included like stated. Would have been nice to know these things before arriving as our main reason for booking was for the pool. We went to the pool at one of the local casinos instead. There was also extra charges made on my card that should not have been made. Yes, they credited it before check out but I still had to wait a few days for the charges to clear. What if it were taken out of someone’s bank account that needed their money? The rooms were clean enough that we didn’t want to go through the hassle of finding somewhere else to stay since we would now only be using the place to sleep at night with the pool closure. I travel often and have never had this many problems at a place in a matter of 2 days.

Everything was good there. I would definitely stay again. One complaint……pool could have been cleaner

No water offered at all. Ice machines were down. Breakfast was over too early for the weekend. Most competitors go to 10 am on the weekend.

Bed and bathroom not cleaned

Very misleading. Booked through a 3rd party and that was a mistake. Front desk staff was friendly, but not very informative. Not sure of breakfast hours or check out. Normally I'm told when I check in. Room is rough. Floor dirty, accessories rusted, smoke detector missing, stains on the walls,you can visibly see there has been a large leak in the ceiling, and tables still had stains from previous guest. I'm highly disappointed but I'm going to try and make the best of it.

This place is terrible worse hotel I've ever stayed at. The room was just nasty. Hair on the floor in the bathroom and the hotel smells horrible. The staff was nice that was the only good thing about this dump.

We reserved a room for 4 nights. This stay was the worst experience I have ever had at any hotel. We arrived in our room and were disgusted by the cleanliness. There were blood stays on the bedding, the floor was crusty, and wires hanging out hole in ceiling were smoke alarm goes. It honestly looked like the room wasn’t cleaned for a while. There were 4 of us and they had 2 half folded towels and no wash clothes in the room. This room looked like someone had been using it. I went back down and requested a different room to all of this. They didn’t even care about it. We got a second room next door and this room wasn’t much better. The lighting was horrible so we couldn’t see everything in room until morning. We slept on top covers and used our own pillows just to get through the night. I told them that night that I would be checking out and that I wanted a refund of the remaining 3 nights. They said I would have to get with the desk when checking out. We had someone knocking on door at 8am after a late night. It was the guy working the morning shift wanting to come in and I refused because my family was sleeping and told him he could come back and look at it when we walked down. I asked if they looked at the other room and they didn’t. He was very unprofessional and kept trying yo enter the room. I shut the door. When we checked out I spoke to the same man and he said that the manager would refund me the remaining nights. He refused to check me out. I then called hotels.com

Unfortunately this place was horrible in terms of cleanness, we have to event both our own pillow as the smell was terrible. All corners of the room were dirty with "sticky" organic material. And forget to get a "Continental Breakfast" offered as part of the room.... a complete disaster !!!

It was nasty and had roaches

room had not been cleaned.. non-smoking room but cigarette ashes on the a/c.. a/c did not work.. went an bought a fan to cool down.. one pillow totally smelled like mildew and the other smelled of the last guy that stayed there cologne so badly I removed the pillowcase totally.. finally left at 3am the 2nd night when the toilet backed up into the shower an floor

Very dirty room was not cleaned from the previous person cat litter in closet floor missing smoke detector air filters not clean at All in several weeks floor had lots of hair corridor‘s with trash elevators with floor full of food outside area trash everywhere, sketchy people hanging out in parking lot till morning

The second room issued made up but after further inspection of the bed, the bed sheet was not fresh and the pillow cases were soiled from the previous tenant. I brought the pillow down stairs to show and complain. A third room was issued and was acceptable. No TV remote in this room.

The legs of one of the two queen beds were broken, making it difficult for me to sleep comfortably for 2 nights. Additionally, there was no breakfast provided as claimed.

My room was clean but smelled like marijuana. It he TV didn’t work. He he shower leaked. It was comfortable with the air conditioner and the bed. I feel at least in my room that it could use some tlc

I was given a room that had a bad odor in it. The A/C didn’t work, and there were 2 hangers for my clothes. I changed rooms, the A/C worked, there was only 1 hanger in this room. I had to go to the store & buy Lysol for the smell. There was no iron & the furniture was worn. Breakfast is advertised online. And they do have cooking equipment in a small room. But I was told breakfast is not available. THE REAR DOOR TO THE BUILDING WOULD NOT LOCK. I felt very unsafe at this place. THERE DEFINITELY WAS NOT ANYTHING QUALITY ABOUT THIS PLACE.

Well I like to start off by saying I booked this hotel simply cuz it said it came with free continental breakfast. Upon arriving there was no signs that said there was no breakfast available or did the front desk let me know. Waking up the first day I ran downstairs to grab some breakfast and sure enough it was closed. Following day the same. After accidentally locking my key in my room I went to the front desk there was a bell I run it. Waited 10 minutes no one came. I rang the bell again. Waited 5 more minutes no one came. At this point I really had to use the restroom in my room. I called the hotel. The guy who answered. I let him know I was in the front desk and instead of him saying I'm on my way he said what do you want, I told him I needed a key for my room cuz I left it in there, he told me I'll be there in 15 minutes. And boy was he not lying he literally took 15 minutes to come to the front desk and give me a copy of my key. The shower was dirty. But the most craziest part was it is a non-smoking hotel yet my bed sheets were covered in burn holes

Had no water to shower had to redo my key everyday cause it would lock me out everyday after check out as I stayed and booked 3 days and house keeping just opened my door 2 times even when I would say I’m in here and sat and the door and had a full conversation with me with the door open no privacy

Check in was fast and friendly. The front desk Clerk was knowledgeable and such a sweetheart! The linen in the room wasnt as clean as id like it to be but we made it work.

Stayed 5 nights so far and it’s been extremely pleasant. The front desk & cleaning staff are all extremely friendly and have been super understanding about anything that I’ve come to them with. Waffles are always a hit. “Spend the extra and stay here instead of next door” — the best advice I can give!

The staff was very friendly and Helpfull . The room was clean and spacious.The parking was well lit at night . The location was also good because it was within minutes from restraunts and shopping centers . Overall had a great expeeience . Well definitely stay in the future.

Hotel was dirty had people sleeping in there cars in and asking for money, the front desk man took 25 minutes to check me in and also charged me 50 dollars for incidentals which was not refunded this place should be reported no coffee no breakfast felt like I was in the slums.

The property location according to their web site was a warehouse. The property did not exist. We had to stay elsewhere and spent $150 due to this. I am disputing the charges due to the fact it was a ripp off

It’s quiet, affordable, clean and the staff are wonderful. The staff actively watch the cameras 24/7, so for once I feel that my car is safe outside. I’ve been here for a couple weeks now and have zero complaints.

Room was very clean, nice and quiet. Breakfast was not acceptable for a Quality Inn. There was no fruit (juice machine was not working and there were no other fruit options. The only protein was hot dogs! Hot dogs are not a healthy protein option. There were no eggs, or cream cheese, or peanut butter, or yogurt. Cereal, bread, waffles and coffee are not healthy offerings.
