Pool was a nice bonus

Staff was courteous and responsive. Room was clean and comfortable. Parking lot could use a repaving. Would stay here again.

Clean room, nice office people. Only complaint is no elevator. Otherwise, great for a one night stopover.

Very basic hotel. It was around 70 a night, so I guess you get what you pay for. No elevator, but not a big deal. The stench in both stairwells and the 2nd floor hallway was a very big deal. People are obviously hanging out in the stairwells smoking and it has permeated the stairwells and floated up to the 2nd floor and permeated the hallway. We were surprised the room, nonsmoking, didn't smell of cigarette smoke. 2 of the 4 bed pillows strongly smelled of cigarette smoke. The fitted sheet didn't fit the bed and kept coming loose at the corners. Breakfast was a toaster and several slices of bread spread around. Deep pocket sheets, shampooing the carpets, and scrubbing the walls would make a huge difference.

It was ok....the pool is small & It was really crowded... breakfast was bread and cereal and pack of oatmeal and grits.... overall ok

The room appeared to be clean till something fell on tje floor and when we went to pick it up there was a syringe needle, && there was trash under the bed. It was a last minute hotel book, but I will never spend my money with them again. The pool was also out of service for whatever reason.

Staff is very friendly and helpful. Room was cleaned every day with fresh towels put out even though they didn't have to, signs in rooms said they would only change them every 3 days. They do need a bigger parking lot, very crowded, had to park next door at gas station one night.

The breakfast was a joke. Stale bread and ants in the cereal dispenser. But the room was clean, the beds were comfortable, the pillows decent, the pool was nice and it had a grill. Popeyes and McDonald's and churches chicken walking distance. Also a cute little candy, fudge, and truffles shop, and duck pond.

Pool was closed. Laundry facilities were closed. No room service at all. Will never stay there again

Room was very clean we was in a non-smoking room. Smelled like smoke had to go and buy some spray before we could even go back into the room.

Hotel was old leak spots in ceiling not enough towels I could smell weed down hall and in our room tub has cigarette burns on tub overall not satisfied not coming here again

Front desk associates were very friendly and check in was super smooth. The smell on our floor was awful! There were nasty brown splatters on the wall by our bed. The lamp shade had brown stains on it. The base of the toilet looked like it had not been cleaned and had what resembled fecal matter splatters on it.

During my three-night stay, my room was never cleaned, and I never received fresh towels. When I requested clean towels, I was told I would have to wait for the cleaning staff. Additionally, the back stairways consistently smelled of weed, which was concerning, especially since I had my son with me. The breakfast options were limited to just toast and coffee, which was disappointing.

CONS: The cleanliness was terrible. The smell was rough on the husband’s sinuses. Overwhelming smell of dust and dirt coming from the carpet. My little one’s feet were filthy within an hour. There were stains on the comforter and towels, that’s just nasty. -Photos from after the second time I cleaned her feet. PROS: The sheets looked clean, the mattress was surprisingly comfortable, pillows were good, and the water was hot.

the staff here is great. they answered every question and were friendly. I was even witness to an angry customer who took out her "issues" with the front desk. The real issue was the customer didn't communicate to begin with. Not the front person's fault in any way. real issues were - Room was damp. Woke up with sore throat, and noticed everything was damp when we came back from being gone 8 hours. The "air conditioner" is more like a swamp cooler. This seems to be an issue with MANY hotels in the Lafayette / surrounding area. The Beds need to be replaced. I'm downing aspirin to try and fend off my lower back issue I got while staying here. great location, plenty of places to eat at that are local, and again the staff was awesome. This is a wyndham property, and they WYNDHAM should fix things. including opening the pool. The corporation isn't broke. thanks to the staff one more time.

Property was in terrible shape, terrible all the way around. The faucet dripped all night, still have smoking rooms which made the hotel smell horrible, ice maker outside our door, the mattress was horrible I was too scared to even look under the sheets because sheets had stains on them. Burn mark on the dingy tub, at check in the receptionist gave us a smoking room which I did not book a smoking room and then tells us that all she had when indeed they had rooms online to still book. The hotel actually needs to be condemned. They had broke down cars in the parking lot, definitely made us feel very unsafe. They had some type of trucking company right behind the hotel that must have worked 24-7 needless to say we did not get much sleep because of the funk and the noise. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Bed was not the most comfortable and the AC/heating unit is very loud. The walls are very thin and you can hear everything including loud neighbors! Cheapest night of our trip and definitely far from the best…

We did an overnight trip, it's okay. The room had a strong damp smell that was pretty strong. The flush in the toilet was leaking so it kept flushing all night as soon as it filled up. Okay stay for overnight passing by I guess

Guests upstairs kept us up until 3am jumping moving furniture and vacuuming!? Room was fine.

TV was not working and toilet not working

The room was old looking..paint peeling. Could not connect to the internet. TV keep going in & out for connection. The telephone on the nite stand was not on. No Blow Dryer. Ice macine was broken. I had originally booked the room for 2 nites but had to wake up early before check out so i could cancel 2nd nite. And to think this hotel is backed by Wyndham 🙄 And if this is the kind of room set aside for people to book through Expedia to get better deals then i will not be using Expedia services again. No, i did not take pictures but should have. Your company should send someone incognito with a room booked through Expedia to see just how awful it is. Its like they save the worst rooms for customers who are not paying the full price

I have stayed here many times and it has always been a good stay until this time. This time we were on the ground floor but there was a very noisy room above us. Stomping around and dropping heavy thing many times starting at 6 in the morning. This was going on for the 3 nights we stayed here. Next time we will ask the staff to move us to a different room.

Staff was amazing morning and night

We booked via Hotels.com and paid in advance. I reserved a handicapped accessible room. We checked in and got into our room, which was lovely. It was NOT however, handicapped accessible. Apparently, this hotel is NOT handicapped friendly. They only have 2 handicapped rooms in which they apparently oversold. Because the other guests that booked accessible rooms showed up before I did, there was nothing they could do for me. The front desk person was very nice about it, but she was new so all she could do was call her boss who was out of town. We waited a long time and I finally booked with another hotel. I was waiting on a refund so I could pay for the other hotel. That did not happen with Howard Johnson. I finally contacted Hotels.com and they were super about taking care of it. They not only gave me an immediate refund, but also gave me a credit to use at the other hotel. Finally the manage of Howard Johnson called and spoke to me over the phone. Tammy was apologetic and compared it to something about people with dogs booking a room. I can’t recall because it had nothing to do with my situation. She took my email and promised she would do something for me. As far as I know nothing has been done. This was a very stressful situation that marred our first weekend getaway that we’d had in many years. Side note of you have bad knees, reconsider your stay there because if they happen to put you on the 2nd floor, there’s no elevator either.

Booked this hotel two months in advance as they had smoking rooms. When we arrived they didn't have one for us even though reservation was confirmed

Tiffany was amazing. I will only stay here only because of her. She was truly amazing. Her customer service is top tier. She is definitely an asset to the company.

Everything was great overall. The only issue I experienced was a mix-up with my assigned room number. A front desk staff member woke us up at 12 a.m. asking for my ID due to the confusion

I booked to stay here specifically as it was a pet friendly location, when I arrived at 10:30 pm I was told there were no more rooms to accommodate us and could not receive a refund and was left scrambling to find another pet friendly hotel in the area. Not one single “I’m sorry” or assistance with additional options

We booked for our family. They were aware that we had 5 children and 5 adults. They would not allow us more towels with out a complete fuss. The hotel was not clean. The breakfast was very limited. Will not stay again.

Its a little hard to find , so many highway ending at that same spot and side street , but great location can’t hear anything at night

Probably worst experience. Dirty outside and inside. I arrivwd near 10 pm and was stuck there. Also diffixult to find due to lack of road signage. Other ratings gave it an 8 cleanli ess review.

Stayed 3 nights with teenager and dog Dec 2024. Nighttime was quiet, and that includes a few other dogs in other rooms. Beds were fine, plenty of lighting and USB charging options. Shower was fine. Room seemed clean. Staff was pleasant and attentive. Pool was closed but was small; the area surrounding it had trash bin overflowing and rather nasty, so that might be an issue in warmer months. Breakfast wasn’t much of anything. Cereal or toast. It might hold you over til lunch but plan to eat elsewhere. Huddle House is next door for instance. Location is great, can hop on the highway or drive south into Lafayette. Gas stations, Huddle House restaurant, Domino’s Pizza, etc and Billy’s (Cajun food) all within a couple minute walk. I stay in Lafayette area often. Cheap hotels are sketchy, and no reason to drop $100/night. For the price point ($70/night - dog is $10) I do recommend this Howard Johnson hotel. If you want a nice pool area you may search elsewhere.

Check in clerk not very welcoming (check out clerk the next AM was lovely). Lobby & hallways reeked with the smell of pot to the point of being sickening. Room itself was spacious & clean but toilet was rickety, shower did not hold temperature, & towels were thin. Clientele not the greatest & lots of noisy activity in the parking lot, which needs repaving.

Convenient to I-10... west of both Lafayette and Baton Rouge so heading out towards Lake Charles in the morning was free of any traffic headaches.

Very nice room and comfy bed. Enjoyed the pool, but no pool towels. Breakfast room was not good. A chair by the guest laundry as well as somewhere to fold clothes would be nice. Very noisy from cars in the fast food drive-in across the parking lot.

Came across this Howard Johnsons on a trip driving back to Florida in Scott Louisiana exit 97 off the 10 freeway. Very accessible to ramp. Plenty of food choices within walking distance as well. Hotel was safe, clean and room very comfortable. The bed was heaven to sleep on. Checkin was fast and efficient with a wonderful young lady. Felt very safe for myself and vehicle. Which us hard to do sometimes at other locations. Definitely will make this a stop point on further travels

Don't expect breakfast to be anything good. Toast or ceral is about it.

I stay here every time I come to this area. It has what in want in the area or it is just a short drive to get where I want. The hotel in clean, nice and no odors. Breakfast is very limited, cereal, toast, juice and coffee.

Don't expect the continental breakfast to be more than dry white bread and old cereal. Coffee pots were always empty.

I know that I wasn't expecting much, because i did read the reviews, but I guess i missed some. no one ever came in and took out the trash, we stayed from Thursday to Monday, the "breakfast sucked" it was just juice, coffee, cereal and toast. thank you but no thanks. the only reason why we picked this hotel was because it said it had breakfast. they need to change it to CONTIENTAL BREAKFAST .

Paid $68/night. Property was clean. Lobby was nice. Room was clean. Microwave and refrigerator were clean. Breakfast was available but lumited to hot cereal, cold cereal and toast.

I liked the room. The breakfast was lacking.
