The Bar/Lounge at the Double Tree closes at 10 pm. on a Friday night. with the hotel sold out. After returning from a festival to the hotel looking to relax with a cocktail, we were disappointed to find the lounge closed. Several other hotel guests complained about the lounge closing to early.

Hotel is very old. The elevator was very slow and we got stuck betwen floors for a few miniutes. Staff was nice. A fire alarm went off at 430am. We had to evacuate the building for 10mn. Not many options in this city.

Check-in was ok, however we were soon informed about the hotel parking which was controlled by the city with no validation for hotel guests ( an unexpected $120 total for a 3 night stay). Very disappointed!

The hotel was not clean. The bathroom offered no actual ventilation control and the fire alarm actually went off. There was heavy rust around the toilet and the wash clothes and bedding sheets were stained. The internet was terrible as well and the "smart" tv kept losing channel signal, so you couldn't watch anything without frequent disconnections. We asked for a do not disturb sign and were told multiple times that none were available, only to have one appear on our last nights stay. None of the house keeping spoke English, so you couldn't really communicate about simple things. Bottom line, I will never stay here again.

This hotel is very convenient if you are seeing a show at the Grand Ballroom which is right across the street. It was comfortable and clean and also affordable. The staff was friendly. Would recommend for a quick stopover in the downtown Wilmington area.

Room was clean, bed was comfortable. Bathroom was clean. The toilet was very small and low. The room was a bit worn in that there were chips in the furniture like the bathroom sink area, desk, etc. the hallways and elevator looked old and bit dirty looking. It wasnt really dirty but it just looked like everything was heavily used and worn. It is a decent place to stay I would stay here again. The parking situation i wasnt really expecting, you have to pay $4 for up to 3 hours or less. $11 for >3 hours- 24 hours. So going in and out a lot could add up. The garage is safe and there is ample space.

The room was so humid despite the AC, the bed felt wet. The sheets were beyond dump, and there were body hairs between sheets. When we asked for another room, the hotel said it's full and they would bring the replacement sheets. Those fresh sheets got soggy immediately in the room. Also when we checked in, the front guy insisted that he doesn't see the breakfast option purchase, told us to contact Expedia. When I showed the proof, he said it was his mistake and gave us the code. The hotel was really run down overall, I wouldn't recommend to anyone.

Most hotels are offering some type of breakfast...not this Double Tree. Access to the hotel is difficult due to construction. I was stunned to see that we had to pay for parking. The lot is run by the city and Double Tree doesn't seem to have some type of agreement for its guests to park for free. The sleeping area of our suite was fine, beds were comfortable. However the bathroom floor was dirty. The door jams and light plates were filthy. The wall in the corner of the shower was soaked, dripping, and peeling. When we arrived on the floor the hallway looked like there had been a part. All sorts of trash. It was still there when we left the next day.

Walls were paper thin. I heard banging and yelling all night from rooms above us, next to us, and down from us. My room shook when someone’s door shut. And we had to be up early. I booked the hotel because of the pool as well. It wasn’t working because of “An accident with the parking garage”. I couldn’t use the toilet and open the door because the door opened past the toilet. There was about 10in between the door and the toilet. And the door hit the shower. The bathroom was smaller than a closet. Myself and a 5 year old were cramped in there. It was horrible for $300 for a night. Probably better off at a motel.

The room was clean. However, the condition of the hotel wasn't the Doubletree I experienced years ago. The hotel is badly in need of a renovation. The bed was comfortable; the pillows were not. It was okay for one night. I wouldn't book it again.

Lousy, old property, paper thin walls, and our safe wasn’t working. I made 4 calls in 2 days to get our safe opened. I finally had to go to the front desk and demand to talk to a manager, and then they fixed the safe in 10 minutes. Area around the hotel is not pretty, run down, not very safe.

1. The air conditioner was extremely noisy. The fan blew loudly all night without stopping for even a minute, making it impossible to sleep. 2.There was no ventilation fan in the bathroom, which left it very humid and stuffy. 3.The shower curtain was falling apart, and I had to fix it myself in order to use it. 4.The toilet did not flush properly. 5. The breakfast buffet (which was not complimentary) was terrible. I noticed rotten apples in the fruit basket, and there was mold on the blueberries. 6. Flies were frequently flying around the dining tables and fruit bar, which was very unappetizing. 7. The carpet in the room was noticeably dirty.

Where do I begin.. Reception couldn’t locate our name/ reservation and instead of asking for confirmation number to help us out. Automatically began telling us we have no room for us and that they don’t have any rooms available and that we needed to call Expedia. After my wife offered them the confirmation #, they located our reservation. Our room was dirty, with very bad odor and the bed was broken with a huge dent on the left side, very difficult to sleep. We stayed two night, both nights from 1am to 3am, other customers were yelling, cursing and some even threatening violence with the others. No respect for other paying customers who were just trying to rest. Breakfast NOT included..Lastly it was unfortunate to see a homeless person inside the parking lot garage laying near the ticket pay booth. Overall terrible stay.. was not expecting a five star for the price but at least an odorless room with a bit of silence at 3am for us to sleep.

The check in process was a disaster. I arrived for a 3:00 check-in - The lobby was full of guests waiting to check in. I came back close to 5:30 and the lobby was still full of people waiting to check in. There was an issue with housekeeping unable to clean the rooms in a timely manner. I did not receive my room key until nearly 6:00. I have never experienced such a disastrous check in.

The system was down so checking in was a nightmare. We didn’t get keys to our room until the next day before we checked out. With that being said the staff was incredibly nice and went above and beyond to accommodate each guest. The owners of this hotel need to step it up a bit. Our room was nice but the fridge was down and it just seemed a little rundown for Double Tree.

The hotel room was clean and furnished with everything that I needed. Very comfortable bed. They are under renovations at the moment, but it is still a very decent place to stay. My biggest comlaint was the staff at the front desk. Not very friendly, and one staff person actually used profanity to another employee across the room. For this reason I gave them a lower rating than I probably would have.

I loved the keys and cookies at check in! We had driven 2 hours and we were hungry, and the warm chocolate chip cookies upon check in were appreciated! Staff was helpful and friendly. Hotel was conveniently located to The Baby Grand, where we attended a concert.

Hotel was overpriced ($161/night). Room was shabbily-maintained (old fixtures left attached, torn wallpaper, tub leaked, bathroom dirty. Bathroom door wouldn't close. White sox stained black from filthy carpeting. No microwave.) Lobby was spacious and attractive. Front desk staff pleasant and helpful. But upstairs, basically a Motel 6 at 4-Star hotel prices. Wilmington is not traveler-friendly. Main streets poorly-lit and everything closed after 5. No restaurants in walking distance of hotel.

This place is pretty good. I cannot remember the name of the lady working the front desk, but she is Mexican and was very nice and friendly and helpful. She suggested a few places to visit while I was in town. It is about a 10 minute walk up a hill from the train station. Its not a steep hill, but it is a steady uphill walk so keep that in mind. Am Uber or Lyft is about $10. A few bars and restaurants can be found around the corer.

We love the downtown Wilmington Doubletree. The facility is wonderfully maintained with excellent customer friendly service. Great location within one block of great Market Street restaurants and, of course, the Grand Opera House. Free validated parking. The food provided at the hotel is also first rate and a great value.

Overall the stay was good. Our Room #218 had No AC and the thermostat displayed 74 degrees even though I put it at 65. We travel frequently so we always bring small plug in fans which made the room bare able. The add on breakfast at an additional charge was none less than a continental breakfast which should be free. Otherwise great location great staff.

Friday night food wasn’t good. There wasn’t any good wine. White Zinfandel wine. Saturday morning breakfast was cold and I was the eighth person in line. The omelette station had no one to work it. The food items were there and no one was there to prepare it

Good enough for a brief stay but I would not stay here longer than one night. A bit outdated but not terrible. For what we paid I’d expect to have complimentary breakfast but we had to pay for a basic continental breakfast. No issues with front staff but they could have been more informative about the breakfast situation. We didn’t know we had to pay until we were harassed by one of the servers. Overall it was fine for a quick overnight rest.

The hotel is nice and staff helpful and friendly. My only complaint is having to pay $15 for the breakfast buffet which wasn’t worth the price (so I passed and didn’t get it). The price of the drinks in the lobby are also ridiculous ($5). And the TV remote is horrible. It has no buttons to change the volume or channels.
