Hôtel DuPont is a beautiful, historic hotel, conveniently located in downtown Wilmington. Our room was spacious, well-equipped, and very comfortable. The staff was very friendly. In fact, the first evening we were there, as we were walking around exploring the hotel, Robert from Security offered to give us a personalized tour, showing us the magnificent ballroom and explaining the history and artistry of the fixtures. Another nice feature of the hotel is that they have a free shuttles available for local transport available on a first, first serve basis. We were able to use it several time for places we were going that were not walking distance. On the less positive side, service at the hotel was uneven. We ate breakfast at the hotel’s Cavalier restaurant the three mornings we were there. The restaurant is gorgeous. It has the feel of an authentic French Brasserie. The menu is decent and the food was mostly quite good, but service, while friendly, was spotty two of the three days we were there, and on one morning it was downright confused. The third morning, with a different server, it was excellent. Similarly, housekeeping the first day we were there was excellent. However, the second day, we were out from 10 am till 3:30, but when we got back to the room it hadn’t be cleaned. So we had to call to request housekeeping service, at that late hour. Overall though, we did really enjoy our stay and we Hotel DuPont is an excellent choice for visitors to Willmington

Amazing stay! Exceptionally clean! Very comfortable beds, very friendly and courteous staff. We were there for my nephews wedding, after party and brunch on Sunday. All of our meals were absolutely fabulous.

When we arrived to check - in, the computers were not working. Apparently, this is a common problem because the computers were also slow upon check out. It took us more than 30 minutes and 3 trips up in the elevator to get into our room. The experience and service were so bad that we were given complimentary prosecco and a $50 credit. The room was probably very luxurious back in the 1970s but it looks very dated. The carpet looked to be at least 40 years old. The paint in the bathroom ceiling was peeling.

Water kettle and tea bags were available upon request. There was obvious mold in the shower and the wall between rooms was not soundproof as advertised.

I’ve stayed there many times over the decades but the hotel seems a bit rundown. It may be COVID related. I couldn’t check in at 4:00. The shower door didn’t close, the shower head leaked; it took forever to get hot water, the toilet was running. Plastic cups in the bathroom unwrapped and wet. No bathroom supplies e.g Qtips. The rooms could us some more light. The elevator looked like hadn’t been cleaned in sometime. The floor to DECO was unfinished, not paved/covered smoothly. The menu at their main restaurant for Breakfast was rather limited.

The property was outdated for being a 5 star hotel. Wallpaper was peeling off, dirt on the floor, tub wouldn’t drain - rooms were nothing special. We stayed here for a wedding. The ballroom and common areas were fabulous, so much history. If you look past all that if you are staying at the hotel, it isn’t great. They are charging far too much for what you get!

The Hotel DuPont is such a lovely and beautiful hotel. It was good to see it come back to full life post-COVID. The service is wonderful and gracious. Both the bar and the bar at Le Cav are wonderful spots to unwind and get a bite to eat. The bartenders - Molly, Greg and Kristen - are wonderful! Thank you for a great stay!

The gentleman at the desk when we arrived late was so sweet and made us feel very welcomed. He had our keys ready and asked if we needed anything since it was late, offered us a late check out to allow us to sleep in. Beautiful room and the bed was so comfortable. Highly recommend.

Great hotel building. We were upgraded to a very large suite as a nice surprise. Dinner in le cavalier was a treat. So was breakfast the following morning.

Manager was an absolute nasty person. When my room key didn’t work I went main desk was politely telling a desk worker the key wasn’t working and she was helping. The manager I believe Liesha came out and waved her hand at me like I was dog. I asked if I did something wrong and she began berating me in public saying I talked to her staff badly. I did not the clerk was nice and i was nice back. The manger was nasty rude and would not stop then walked away slaming a wall door behind the counter. Ruined my trip….and night. Sad indeed.

Every employee that we encountered was friendly, professional, and helpful. Our room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The Christmas tree in the lobby was beautiful and created a magical, holiday vibe. Breakfast at the restaurant was delicious and plentiful. We loved every minute of our stay.

Hôtel DuPont is a beautiful, historic hotel, conveniently located in downtown Wilmington. Our room was spacious, well-equipped, and very comfortable. The staff was very friendly. In fact, the first evening we were there, as we were walking around exploring the hotel, Robert from Security offered to give us a personalized tour, showing us the magnificent ballroom and explaining the history and artistry of the fixtures. Another nice feature of the hotel is that they have a free shuttles available for local transport available on a first, first serve basis. We were able to use it several time for places we were going that were not walking distance. On the less positive side, service at the hotel was uneven. We ate breakfast at the hotel’s Cavalier restaurant the three mornings we were there. The restaurant is gorgeous. It has the feel of an authentic French Brasserie. The menu is decent and the food was mostly quite good, but service, while friendly, was spotty two of the three days we were there, and on one morning it was downright confused. The third morning, with a different server, it was excellent. Similarly, housekeeping the first day we were there was excellent. However, the second day, we were out from 10 am till 3:30, but when we got back to the room it hadn’t be cleaned. So we had to call to request housekeeping service, at that late hour. Wonderful experience! The Hotel DuPont is a lovely hotel that harkens back to the Gilded Age! Very well maintained with a friendly and helpful staff. The restaurant is very good (and elegant) and it is walking distance to all the fun bars and restaurants on Market Street.

Great night in Wilmington. Had Dinner at a local Italian restaurant and a night at Longwood Gardens, it’s about 20 minutes drive from the hotel. Beautiful lobby and bar/restaurant. Highly recommended

The hotel itself is beautiful and the staff was friendly. The room was very comfortable. It was about a 20 minute walk through mostly empty streets to the riverfront. Water kettle and tea bags were available upon request. There was obvious mold in the shower and the wall between rooms was not soundproof as advertised.

Nice hotel, but didn’t think it was worth the steep price. The lobby was beautifully decorated for the holidays! The food hall next door is a great asset if you want to grab something quick for lunch or dinner.

The hotel Is fabulous. Beautiful and historic. Sadly, the area it is in is very dangerous. Would not recommend going to the area without protection. My husband and so we’re mugged 2 blocks from the property. Will not be returning

We were in Delaware for a short time & stayed at the Hotel DuPont for one night. We should have stayed longer. What a beautiful hotel! The lobby was richly detailed with an amazing ceiling. Our room was spacious-larger than our first apartment! It was classically styled but comfortable. The staff was so courteous. The bar was cozy. The restaurant was beautiful with good service & good food. We look forward to a return visit

I’ve stayed there many times over the decades but the hotel seems a bit rundown. It may be COVID related. I couldn’t check in at 4:00. The shower door didn’t close, the shower head leaked; it took forever to get hot water, the toilet was running. Plastic cups in the bathroom unwrapped and wet. No bathroom supplies e.g Qtips. The rooms could us some more light. The elevator looked like hadn’t been cleaned in sometime. The floor to DECO was unfinished, not paved/covered smoothly. The menu at their main restaurant for Breakfast was rather limited.

The experience was wonderful. Beautiful room and helpful and friendly staff.We stayed here last eight years ago, and again it was a wonderful experience. With one exception. On our last visit, dinner and breakfast were truly exceptional, attentive staff and delicious food served in an atmosphere of quiet elegance. The staff are still wonderful and the food is exceptional. But now there is an extremely noisy bar with excessively loud music which made conversation very difficult.
