Great old building that needs some love. All the outdoor areas need the floors cleaned and sealed new umbrellas installed and the pool area needs to be finished and spa repaired. My room was great loved it but the spa tub drain didn’t work and the on in the sink didn’t work either small leak in the toilet area. But I would stay again. The senior king suite is great. Just needs some love

Very good location and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The property has a beautiful, old world colonial style. My main disappointment is they advertised having a gym and a steam room, but both are closed indefinitely so the hotel Polacio SHOULD make this known to all potential guests before booking. I always look for hotels with some kind of gym facility, so their blatant dishonesty was not appreciated. Overall it has a really nice old world charm, central location and friendly staff and so I do recommend it.

Cet hotel est très bien situé, avec possibilité de parking, et l'ambiance et le look général est sympatique. En revanche l'hotel en lui même aurait besoin de remise à niveau importante : tout est usé à l'extrème, et ce n'est pas d'une propreté exemplaire. Le personnel n'est pas tdes plus avenants et le petit déjeuner est très moyen. Je n'y retournerai pas , même si sa situation et son rapport qualité/prix est quand même bon.

We have stayed in this hotel multiple times and every time it gets worse. This will be the last time we stay here as the experience is not worth it. Poor Room Cleanliness, no hot water and Tons of mosquitos.

When we first arrived we weren’t very impressed with the location but we then realized that we were actually very close to everything. There is a National supermarket right up the road that we went to several times. We walked everywhere throughout the colonial area. While there are many modern looking hotels here this was not one of them and I really liked that. It kept the essence of Spanish colonialism with heavy wooden doors, balconies, old art work and a beautiful atrium in the middle of the property. The beds are very clean however, the property could use some good upgrades such as in the bathrooms. Overall my experience was good.

The property was old and running toilet and pool was very old and needed a cleaning. Luis the bellhop asked me for money as i walked out of the hotel on the street, he was acting as security for the parking garage. I found this to be rude and lack of training. In all my years this was a first and i will not be staying here again.

I always stay here when I come to Santo Domingo. It's very convenient, the customer service is great and they treat you like family. I left my phone and they did everything they could to get my phone back to the States!

People are not really friendly be sure it’s you make a reservation be prepared for everything. We stay 3 people in my room I have to pay $40 a day for the 3 person . . But when I request an extra soap they want to charge me $5 dólar for a soap and they breakfast are nothing fresh . And people are not really friendly

I've been staying at the Palacio for many years. I have mixed feelings. Everything is hit or miss, some very good, and some not good at all -- from facilities maintenance, to facilities cleanliness, to the staff's attitudes and attentiveness. You can experience the full gamut during the same stay. I will stay here again, because of the good aspects. But this hotel could be so much more and better than it is with more consistent management.

Wow. I'm ending a 4 day trip to Santo Domingo and it was amazing! This hotel is in the center of everything and walking distance to everything in the heart of Santo Domingo. The hotek and the area is very safe. The staff is very friendly and the hotel is very clean. I had room service everyday with fresh clean sheets and towels. I had a wonderful experience here and the next time I visit I will definitely be staying here.

Hotel is in a great location. And the hotel is old with great architecture. Service was good. The front desk staff were very helpful. pool area looks shabby. The breakfast was pretty basic. We had no wifi for almost 8 hours. That was tough. It’s hard to get towels. I might stay there again.

We had a very pleasant mid-week stay. Excellent breakfasts, quiet and tasteful atmosphere. Don't miss the rooftop pool and library. Everyone from the manger to the service people were friendly and responsive. Our only complaint was spotty wi-fi service in our room.

Hotel Palacio, as usual, was great. It’s one of my favorite hotels in Santo Domingo. I really recommend it. What I didn’t like was the new breakfast system. It was to be a buffet. Now they have a system in which the give guests a voucher they can use for breakfast. I dislike this method. Other than that, the hotel is amazing.
