Sleep Inn Amherst - Buffalo North near University

I stayed at the sleep Inn this time and I was inconvenienced because the hot tub in the swimming pool area was not working. One of the reasons that I go to this Hotel is to use the Hot tub. The hotel was booked and I didn't get the room that I requested, but I stayed because I needed a place to stay. Again, I wanted to use the hot tub and I wasn't able to.

Room was clean and comfortable. Plenty of parking.

The hotel was so clean and staff was super friendly. Lots of breakfast options, better than many other hotels. The pool and hot tub were both nice and warm and clean. The room was small for 4 people, but had everything we needed. Not a luxury hotel, but I would highly recommend it!

Comfortable beds and nice room. Niagara Falls about 30 minutes away for an exhilarating but somewhat wet experience. Enjoyed the indoor pool and jacuzzi.

Disappointed that the hot tub was not operational. This should be reflected in the ad. Otherwise stay was comfortable, nice bed and pillows.

Pool and hot tub were very nice and clean. Perfect size. Slept like babies the bed and bedding were very comfortable. We’d stay again for sure

Staff was wonderful!! The pool and hot tub were a welcome relief after a long day in the car. Room was quiet and we got a good night's sleep.

I love the cleanliness the staff is very polite. I didn’t like the pool area when I went to swim the chlorine was over powering n burned my eyes n throat so I couldn’t enjoy my swim. My fiancé n son loved the jacuzzi as u can see. We would love to stay again ty.

Everything exceeded my expectations! I've been all around the world, and this was one of my favorite hotels! It was very clean, smelled great, the pool and hot tub were very clean and fun, the bed and pillows were amazingly comfortable, the temperature of the hotel/ spa area was perfect, and the staff were very accommodating and polite! We loved the breakfast buffet and that we got to make our own waffles- they were delicious! This was the perfect stay for us and we greatly appreciate the wonderful service!!!

The hotel advertises as non-smoking but the room smell of stale cigarette smell mainly the curtains and air condition.

Nice clean hotel, convenient to highways, shopping and restaurants. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast also wonderful.

We had a great stay. Room was clean and cleaned each day that we were there. Everything in the room worked as it should with no issues. The breakfast set up was very nice with a large variety of options. The swim area was clean and comfortable.

This was likely the cleanest value priced hotel I've ever stayed in and I travel extensively. Breakfast was fresh and options were plentiful. The staff was friendly and the property is well maintained.

Found the area was pretty run down. We got to our hotel at 1030pm to find out that the pool area closed already. The night staff was very rude to another customer in front of us and made us not want to come fown to buy a pop or anything. We got into our room, everything seemed clean at first, until we started stripping the bed, there was a quarter sized stain that looked liked some type of body fluid. The TV remote was caked with a yellow hard "ear wax" substance on it.

Everything was very clean from the bathroom to the microwave.

The room had smears on the mirrors (not cleaned). There was hair in the sink. The sheets were not clean.

The staff was professional and courteous and the bed was comfortable. I always appreciate a room that offers a fridge and microwave for my drinks and to warm up leftovers. The shower pressure was adequate, and the property in general felt safe. The breakfast was not bad and it was available for a very reasonable amount of time, so guests on multiple variations of schedules could enjoy it. The room (a tiny little thing) as a whole however, was not to standard. The deadbolt didn’t work. There were spiders in the corner, in a well built web, and one made its way over by the bed by morning. Not cool! The carpet had stains that were not impossible to remove (I do that for a living), but they weren’t maintained. In fact, the entire carpet was rather dirty. Around 5am there was a lot of loud noise and talking outside in the hall and we were tucked away in the corner on the top floor, where I was told it was very quiet and secluded. Overall, it was not terrible, but definitely less than ideal. Not the standard that should be expected. I don’t see this as an 8.8 rated hotel, but I have definitely stayed in worse too. I think it’s fair to rate at 6.4. Better than average, but with a few minor corrections it could definitely get near or even within an 8 rating. The price should be a little lower too however. Even with the corrections, the rate was at least 25% too high for the accommodations at an 8 out of 10 rated hotel. 50% too high for the reality of what we experienced.

Booked this hotel because it came with a $15 food credit. When I got there intending to use it toward a meal (food) I was advised they do not have a restaurant and the food credit will go toward their snack shop which is a selection of chips and chocolate bars. I asked if I could use my credit toward their stuffed animal instead as I do not eat the stuff they sell, they said no. Since I now had to plan on where I would go out to eat, I asked the staff if they could make any suggestions of places in Buffalo, they did not provide any suggestions. There was hair in my sink and shower which I was going to overlook, but will mention it now. Other than that, room was clean, comfortable bed. Will likely not stay here again.

I like the comfortable bed

The room was clean but very compact.

The bed wasn’t very comfortable at all and the room was very small with nowhere to sit but only one chair and the second person had to sit on bed which wasn’t comfortable at all

The room was great and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. The bathroom door was a sliding pocket style; not our favourite for privacy.

I had booked this just because Expedia had this as VIP access property. But my experience was horrible. The mattress in my room was visibly sagging. Me and my wife couldn’t sleep well all night because of the mattress and the AC that kept shutting off. We had set temperature and as soon as it would reach that temp it would shut off. There was no continuous fan setting either. Once shut off it would take very long for the AC to kick in again. Within the AC and the mattress we couldn’t really sleep. I complained to the staff the next morning and asked them to replace the mattress or my room. They said all rooms are full and just put a mattress topper on top of the mattress. That didn’t help as such and we had another terrible nights sleep.

The AC was making loud noise all night. When I turned down the temperature, it didn't work.

Rooms are outdated

Very nice staff - I got a quiet first floor king next to the gym - no noise at all. Convenient, reasonable and very clean all around. It was this or La Quinta across the lot and La Quinta maintenance has disappointed this year - choose here.

Things were good the first night. On the second night a midnight staff accidentally gave someone checking in a key for our room. So at 3am I was staring at a complete stranger walking in my room.

When we arrived person at front desk was very friendly once checked in and filling out information for my service animal "not a pet" attitudes began changing. We were going to go to the hot tub when the attendant told me I could not take my "dog" in that area. I explained once again that my "dog" is a service animal not a "pet" and helps me to detect when a seizure is coming on, he stated he would have to check with his manager. His manager could not be contacted but his head douse keeper said I would have to wait till all other patrons were out of the area. I explained that was unacceptable. ADA rules state that my "trained service animal" must be allowed to escort me in all areas with no exceptions. After going back to the room and trying to contact the corporate office we get a call from the front desk saying we were cleared to use the facility as long as my dog did not enter the water. I had already explained that my service animal does not enter the water and would lay right near me out of the hot tub. I was so infuriated at the fact that these people had never been educated about service animals in the USA. Even with the new ruling passed my true SERVICE ANIMAL is authorized to be by my side.

Great check in

My stay at the Sleep Inn was great. The staff there was nice, as they always are. That was about my fifth time staying there. Anytime that I travel to the Buffalo area, the Sleep Inn in Amhearst is my choice place to stay. I always have a great time while I'm there. Loren is one of the staff there and he is always welcoming to me, and I'm sure to other visitors also.

The staff were absolutely amazing! From check in, to needing assistance early in the morning, to check out! Very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely stay here again!

I stayed at this property for 2 nights. On the second day around 8am a man entered my room with a key card while me and my sisters were laying in the bed. He said sorry wrong room when he saw us. We thought maybe it was house keeping and he had the wrong room. Then around 7:15pm the same man came in my room again with a key card we were not dress and preparing to go out. He again says sorry and leaves then we looked to see if he went in another room but he went into the exit. We immediately called guest services and was told we would get a new key card. We went to guest services with our concern and fear. The staff Lauren was not helpful at all and very unbothered and not of any assistance and uncooperative. He wouldn't reach out to management, supply corporate number, or change our room. I spoke with the manager 2days later who informed me she can check when key cards was used to enter my room and when my door was opened or closed. It didn't show not one time this man entered our room with that key card but ironic someone opened our door at 9:30pm from the inside of the room never show someone going in but we left at 9pm and at 9:30 was at a restaurant 30 minutes away. Be very careful if you stay at this hotel especially if you are a women.

The place was nice, except for the front desk staff member smoking in front of the building entrance, which I found unpleasant.

Staff was great upon entry and departure. Room was excellent. Will stay here again.

We stay here regularly on overnights to Buffalo. Always clean, convenient to the expressway.

Friendly staff, nice clean room. The free breakfast left something to be desired but it usually does. The area outside of the hotel was littered with trash, old shopping carts, and various debris but didn’t feel unsafe.

Great hotel for such a good price. Nice options for breakfast. The pool and spa area was great. The hotel was very clean, quiet, and comfortable. Convenient location near the expressway. Would definitely stay here again.

Close to UB. Many restaurants and shopping nearby. Clean. Very pleasant staff!

Property is located very central to varied dining options (Olive Garden, Denny's, IHOP) and close to major Hwys. The hotel indoor pool and whirlpool are quite nice for their size. The TV reception is excellent with numerous movie channel options. Parking is in abundance at the front, side and rear of the hotel. Staff are very helpful and accommodating even when attempting to deal with troublesome guests.

After reading some good reviews about this place, it did not disappoint. The breakfast was plentiful and good, the room was good and the hotel was clean. The only odd thing was dozens of abandoned shopping carts in the general area.

The bed was alright, I slept pretty well. It was comfortable. The shower had sensitive temperature controls and great water pressure. The food was alright - standard complimentary hotel breakfast. I appreciated the Greek yogurt options and eggs.

The beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was ok, but the coffee was not very good. The machine needs to be better. Overall, this is a good budget hotel and I would recommend it as good value for money in this era of high inflation and rising prices for hotel stays in the US.

Breakfast was very displayed and good options. Food attendants were very visible and helpful. Also, friendly. Bed was very comfortable! I loved the pillows!

Great stay. Clean room. Timely housekeeping. Breakfast ok. English muffin was stale. Love 24 hour coffee/tea. Will return. Oh pillow case was stained. But could tell they were laundered.

The personnel was very friendly and helpful with any questions we had. The morning crew in the breakfast dining area kept everything stocked. They were friendly and always a pleasant greeting.
