Hampton Inn Austin NW near The Domain

Everything was great and simple, except for the fact that only one elevator was operational.

The rooms were very dated. Only 1 of the elevators were working so we had to wait a good amount.

The location was very convenient. Gym was awesome. Rooms (we got a handicapped one) were a little outdated, but ok

Everything was great except the elevator. One of the elevators gets "hung up" on the 1st floor. As a consequence, the whole systems "thinks" there is an elevator on the 1st floor, so another will not come when the call button is pushed. You have to wait for someone from another floor to bring the working elevator down to the 1st floor. Get that fixed and you get 5 stars +.

We went on a vacation and looked forward to the pool with the kids and it was not working. It had a sign saying it was not available for use. That made my kid and ourselves sad. They didn’t even offer a discount or warn us. It’s still not working as of today.

Elevator issues

Am sorry to say that one of the two elevators is still not working and wait time is sometimes long…we have stayed at this location many times and have experienced this “problem” for many months now.

Nice, clean hotel with comfortable beds and coffee available in the lobby. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast food was kept stocked and there was ample seating in dining area. Only one elevator was working at hotel.

Won’t stay here again. My room had a strange odor like dirty socks. Not sure if it was carpet. Pool was inoperable in June and needs to be resurfaced. Quite disappointed for a Hampton Inn.

I didn’t like odor in the rooms, I tried switching to two other rooms..same smell. Mold, musty smell.I didn’t like hair on the toilet, I always clean my hotel bathrooms anyway but to visibly see hairs was gross. I did like the breakfast, Makayla was very helpful. Another staff member who worked overnight was also kind and helpful but I forgot her name. Free parking nice and area seemed safe.

Everything was good! The staff are very friendly and courteous; room were clean and well kept!

Clean and quiet

The property itself was great and had great breakfast and coffee. The room was clean but smelled very very bad and the TV was tinted purple. The staff was very nice and everything was good overall.

The front desk clerk was very nice. However, the bathroom was dirty, there was hair all over the floor. The room had a horrible odor, there was hand prints smeared on the head board of the beds and the bed was so hard I had to get pillows to sleep on in order to sleep.

Room was very clean and well made. Staff was kind and helped with everything.

The room was good, it just had a stuffy smell to it, like humidity. The breakfast was good, just not enough variety. The A/C in the room was working but I had to lower the temp to 66 to make it cool enough. The staff were friendly and professional.

The smell of our room was icky. I. Relieve someone had smoked in the room and it was trying to be covered by a cleaner. However, the room smelled bad and it was a bit uncomfortable. Also, the air circulation wasn’t good. I stayed warm most of the night and the A/C didn’t seem to kick on. Overall, the bed was comfortable and the restrooms were clean.

The rooms were humid to the point of feeling wet and smelling like mildew. First room was very strong and desk manager agreed it was bad. Checked out 5 rooms before staying in the fifth. Over the days we were there the humidity and smell increased. AC was able to cool but not to dry the room. Would not return to this hotel. Staff (especially Gab) was great and tried to help us.

Enjoyed the property and great location with quick access to the Domain area and ample parking. Clean room and comfortable bed. But fitted sheets kept coming undone as if elastic was giving out. This was a little frustrating but a good experience overall.

So first off, room can use an upgrade in decor and we found a creep crawly in the bathroom. Shower pressure isnt great but the water was wet and hot. It was quiet, the bed was very comfortable, and the breakfast was excellent especially since it is included. Close to the Domain area and other shops and about 13 mins from downtown. Overall a 4 out of 5.

Overall stay was fine. 1. The inside curtain cord was broken or twisted inside the roller so it was inoperable. Notified front desk and they quickly sent service; but they only lowered the curtain to keep outside lights out; did not fix. So was always down and dark in room even in daytime. 2. For some reason only one of the two elevators is working. This is exactly the same condition when we stayed there a year ago. So long wait for elevator.

Very clean, friendly staff. Breakfast buffet was good. Bathroom counter space was small and the shelves for the towels were just above it, taking away valuable space. Low water pressure in shower. Otherwise, a good experience and I will stay there again.

Good stay, didn’t like the small pillows they gave you. The air conditioner was loud whenever it came on.

Very nice experience at this hotel. My room was spacious and quiet. The entire hotel staff were friendly and knowledgeable and very hardworking. The pool was clean and the overall atmosphere was great inside and out. Housekeeping staff were attentive and helpful whenever I requested anything. I would definitely recommend this hotel !

My husband hated the pillows. They were not very comfortable. The fruit choices for breakfast were 3 apples and a couple of bananas. I picked up a banana and the bottom was a big ugly bruise. One of the elevators was not working. It did have a nice night light in the bathroom. The staff was pleasant. It was just not up to the Hampton Inns that I have been to in the past.

This was one of the most disappointing hotel stays we’ve ever had. The staff was the best part, breakfast wasn’t bad, but the room was awful. The window blinds didn’t work, the shower head was broken, the bathroom counter was small, the furniture was gross. The bed and pillows felt cheap. Ugh. Not sure what shook the bldg and woke us up at 4:00, trash svc emptying dumpsters?!

The staff was wonderful and hard-working, the room was nice with a great view, and the breakfast was wonderful. The gal working the breakfast was working so hard and it was appreciated.

The first room provided has an humidity issue due to leak. However, the staff has promptly resolved it by providing another room to me. Very helpful and good service.

Good location, close to freeway access. Right next to a restaurant. Check in was delayed, no staff available until many minutes later when he came out of the back office. Overall, the grounds were kept up on, and lobby was nice and clean. Maid service was nonexistent, for a two night stay no one came and turned over my room. For the price, not sure I would stay again. Better choices in the area.

Staff was polite and property was clean. The only issue is that the front desk needs to have more staff on hand. I only saw one person around.

Can't remember the name of our check in person but he was very helpful. We were a large group checking in and arrived 2 hours early and he did his best to get as many of us into our rooms as possible. The rooms were very clean and breakfast was delicious. Definitely recommend.

Pool was closed for repair, couldn't even set in the sun after coming from the north. couldn't get a receipt because booked through Hotels.com. Manager was belligerent and sarcastic. He has no place in the service industry.

Overall my stay was pretty much enjoyable, lots of trees, quiet, convenient to get to, clean, no Bed Bugs. But I Booked my room with Expedia I choose the option to pay at the front desk. The card I used to book with around 6:30pm May 1st 2024 had an charged unauthorized for the amount $150.89, then I received an phone call from the front desk stating that if I don't pay at least half my total because they were about to be at capacity then I risk the chance of losing my reservation. So I transferred some money into that account and then paid what I thought would've been at least the half portion of my room cost. Upon arrival/ check in I was charged $173.52 which is more than the amount I booked for. My total with Expedia was only to be $303.39, The math doesn't add up. I checked with them (The Property) since a day after my check out date & still haven't got the reimbursement for the so called deposit etc etc. I was told give 5 business working days from Sunday May 5th 2024 I have as of today May 10th 2024. To no avail. I called and spoke I'm guessing an Miguel/ Michael and he said it was something to do with my bank. He also told me he shows that they released my reimbursement May 3rd 2024. I asked him to submit an copy to my email of that doc. I haven't received anything. Main reason I'm writing this review. Probably will not be staying with the Hampton Inn in the near future.

Hilton Honors digital check-in is nice! Property and room were clean! Area was quiet, plenty of restaurants/shopping nearby to drive to.

There was a lot of homeless people in the area, didn't feel safe.

Breakfast was a lovely surprise -- they include croissants, and these are actual croissants, not just crescent-shaped bread. They had a good variety of other offerings too. AC was so effective we mostly left it turned off, despite 90 degree days outside, the room stayed cool.

Stayed five nights for a family event. Easy access and good parking. Great proximity to Mopac. Also close to the Domain and various shopping but we didn't avail ourselves of that amenity. Rooms and overall property were clean. Good shower and plenty of hot water. Housekeeping only on request. Staff members were efficient and pleasant. The band that played at a nearby restaurant always quit about 10 p.m. and there was not much traffic noise or noise from other guests. Blackout curtains were good. Two downsides: one of the two elevators broke down and was not repaired during the entire stay, making it more challenging to get to/from the upper floor where we stayed. And, the breakfasts were even more pedestrian than usual for this level of hotel...food was plentiful but somewhat drab. I would stay here again but I wouldn't specifically seek out this place.

Location was convenient with restaurants and shopping nearby. Everything was clean, updated and staff was super friendly and helpful. Room and bathroom were large and excellent toiletries provided. Enjoyed breakfast with good varied selection including hot and cold items. Rates were very reasonable during our visit. Would definitely stay again.

My boyfriend and I, took a quick 3 day trip to Austin to visit the Oasis Restaurant and The Domain for shopping. This hotel location is perfect for visiting both. The restaurant was less than 20 mins away and the Domain less than 5 mins. The morning breakfast was good. We are not pork eaters so beware there was no meat options without pork. Also, plan time to have breakfast then shut down promptly on schedule, even the coffee is put away. Staff was friendly and room was very clean. I would visit again.

Nice stay. Good facilities. I was especially grateful for the soy milk available at breakfast - this is the first hotel I've stayed at in 3 weeks to have it available.
