Austin Southpark Hotel

The hotel was solid. The room was nice and clean, the gym had some good equipment, and it was in a convenient location.

I originally booked this property because the pool and workout area looked nice. I was traveling with my 2 teenagers. Upon arrival the hotel was under construction. The pool was closed and so was the workout facility. The hotel apologized and said I could recieve 20% rebate related to my stay. Nothing was applied to my credit card. I tried calling the hotel but always got the run around.

The pool was unique! You can swim indoors & outdoors and stay in the water!

Older hotel but still nice. I was charged 10 bucks a night to park in a normal, non covered, mall type parking lot. I even had to put a tag on my vehicle. No security or anything to deserve a 10 dollar a night charge. Other than that, great stay.

No heated pool!!!!!! The only reason we booked this place.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The building is older but clean. The hallway to the room had an older building smell but the rooms were fine. The only real critique is that there were no "do not disturb" signs available for the rooms. Our trips activities had us up late and most morning we were woken up by housekeeping. The lobby has happy hour and there is a nice pool... Although the pool is not heated as advertised.

The hotel need to be renovated for the price they are charging per night. It is also unsafe cars were broken intoand there is alot of homeless just wondering around the parking lot and walking innand out the hotel.

Pool was green with algae. Looked neglected. A right spot was the breakfast. Good food and good service. Just not the facility it was for so long. New managment needs to invest a lot to increase business.

The furniture was A little outdated. Staff was very nice, area was quiet, towels were availability, clean room and bed. Front desk was flexible with late check out and was able to hang out at the pool till later and shower in the clubhouse bathroom. Sauna was not working.

My experience was not great. The shower ran out of hot water several times, the room was moldy and musty (with a slight smell of cigarettes) and I found an opened condom wrapper in my room when I arrived. Also the plugs didn’t work on my desk side. I wouldn’t stay again.

Found a roach in my room. It was climbing up the curtain. This was reported to front desk and was told house keeping would be informed but nothing was done. Reported it a second time and nothing was done. Will not be staying here again.

The bathroom sink and tub didn’t drain. The room was not clean. Unfortunately the pictures online were deceiving, and the fridge in the room wasn’t working. The staff were friendly and the bar area was nice.

Clean, smelled clean, comfortable. We had a balcony which was nice. We slept well, the bed was comfortable and even though it was by highway it wasnt noisy. Great stay, will definitely book again!

I got in around 10pm and Came into my room to nothing on the bed apart from pillows that had no pillow cases, food and drink along with trash from the person who previously stayed in the room and it didn’t get cleaned till around 2pm the next day. Apart from that everything else was great.

The noise level from freeway was unbearable. We stayed on the 7th floor and the noise sounded like just from next door.

The property and amenities are very dated. I’ve been here several times over the last 3 to 5 years and at least one elevator never works. The restaurant has untenable hours for guests. My room did not have a refrigerator. When they brought one, it did not work and had to bring another. If there were ever an option to tear this property down and start from scratch, everyone would be better served.

Very good price for the city. Free parking. Spacious room. Lighting in room was unsatisfactory but it could be due to dated build. Turkey Swiss Melt sandwich was excellent.

No matter how you try to sell the hotel it is next to a busy overpass and highway and traffic noise is with you your entire stay White noise machines might make a difference as you can’t ignore or avoid the fact that there is a highway right beside the hotel

This place has a great pool and outdoor area. Im surprised how it was really empty on a Thurs. Night. Quiet in the rooms and halls, good for a peaceful relaxing evening. Rooms for clean, soft bed, and a decent size. Its outdated furniture, but it was comfy. No complaints. Staff was great and helpful to print out a document. Its also in a good location to hop on the highway. About 15 min. From 6th st. If thats your thing.

Pros: Nice big pool for the kids. Gym if you like to workout. Cons: No free breakfast. Furniture is a bit outdated.

Terrible place to stay. Upon check in I was directed to check into a hotel event that I wasn’t even a part of to which I was sent back to the check in desk after being redirected by the event people. Then I was given my room key that opened a room up that was being used by 2 people HAVING INTERCOURSE in my room bed!!!!! Staff is giving hotel keys to other people’s occupied rooms that have their belongings! Not safe at all! Then I went back down to tell the manager to which they disregarded everything I said. Didn’t even bother to acknowledge what I had just experienced. Then I was given another room key, went all the way up to my new room and the key didn’t work, then I went all the way back down and got a new one to which it didn’t have hot water. Completely horrible experience and waste of time for me. Do not come to this hotel. To know that anyone could have accessed my room was terrifying. Their lack of management put me in danger when I walked into an occupied room. Worst experience ever and they did not care at all they failed to provide a safe and comfortable place to stay. Total disappointment!

Nice hotel, the staff made it a great stay. Alexis at the front desk is wonderful. Francisco in the restaurant is awesome. We will stay here again.

The staff was amazing and so friendly

The front desk staff is amazing. They had a legal conference occurring when I checked in so the place was packed and extremely busy and the women there jammed! They got everyone checked in extremely quickly and gave out waters to us waiting. The service and skill was impeccable. They were beyond accommodating and this was all well before actual check in time.

Front Desk did not call my room for my wake-up call at 3AM. It's lucky I woke up. I asked the front desk what happened ? EXCUSES. Don't like excuses.

This hotel is fine. The rooms are fine. The pool is fine. The location is fine. It's a perfect 3, truly. However- let me warn others before they make the same mistake I did. Do NOT use a third party booking agency for this hotel. They simply do not know how to handle it. I stayed here in October 2024. Was scolded at the desk for using a third party booking service, was told it was "a good thing we have a room for you", and had to prove I had already paid the fees. All of which I did. Cut to a month later and I am charged AGAIN. Another 700.00 which, I had already paid. It took another month and a half, multiple phone calls where I had to argue my case and send multiple emails proving that this money was already paid. After having to state my case multiple times and being asked by a manager "who told you you were getting a refund" I was refunded. It is now January 2025. I am A THOUSAND miles away from Austin, TX and I have JUST been charged 600.00 dollars. When I called to inquire, the staff knew nothing about it or why it happened. I now have to argue my case for a third time, 3 months after my stay. I have essentially paid this hotel over 2,000.00 for what is a tarted up motel 6. Just be wary if booking through any other 3rd party site and at least be ready to be charged willy nilly for no apparent reason.

we arrived at 10 pm after 3 flight cancellations, the Bar manager was amazing, kitchen was closing, no problem a burger and a few drinks organized without any problems.

My recent stay at South Park Hotel was a lesson in what happens when a business stops caring about its guests and starts running on autopilot. From start to finish, it was a circus of incompetence and attitude. Let’s start with room service: calling down for something as simple as food turned into a test of patience that nobody signed up for. The phone would ring and ring, only to be greeted by someone who sounded like they’d rather be anywhere else. If I wasn’t being hung up on, I was put on hold until I almost forgot why I called. When they finally picked up, every interaction was laced with irritation—God forbid a paying guest actually expects some basic service. Here’s another joke: the menu that used to be online was nowhere to be found, so you’re left guessing or begging for options like it’s 1995. How does a hotel regress in 2025? Unbelievable. Now let’s talk about billing. They claimed they were on some “new system” that made it impossible to link room service orders to my room. Funny how that works, because when I finally ordered, they never even bothered to ask for my room number. So clearly, the system isn’t the problem—it’s the staff, or maybe it’s just a flat-out lie to cover laziness or a lack of training. Either way, it’s unacceptable. The bottom line is this: South Park Hotel used to at least try to act like a real hotel. Now it’s just attitude, excuses, and chaos behind the scenes. driving about .5 miles before and everywhere around this hotel is crack/meth head central. They were all over the parking lot and and around the entire building. place had a security guard patrolling around the hotel ( never seen that in all of the over 2 thousand hotels I've stayed at) dirty people asking for money and lighters and drugs as soon as you get out of your car in the parking lot. Also worse part was the Restaurant and Pool were Completely Closed bc of some scaffolding issues. if you wanted to swim with the same Property you had to go to their airport location which probably would have have been way better. horrible view from my 8th floor balcony. it was so loud on it you couldn't even talk on the phone, plus my toilet plugged up after one flush. Charged me 37$ for 3 bottles of Aquafina and 1 small bag of popcorn from the vending area...... I wish I would have known the pool was closed because I would not have booked a 100$ a night room if I knew that. Location Sucks. Staff was Awesome and very friendly and helpful.

This property is right off the freeway so easy access to everything. We had a room facing the freeway and we were surprised that you could hardly hear any traffic. Very good food at the hotel.

Older property that we stay at due to convenience and accessibility. Got this hotel when we our flight was cancelled-super convenient to the airport. Easy check in, room was fine.

A bit run down. The restaurant was very poorly staffed. We had to wait over 30 mins for two drinks and an order of bacon. Room was nice, the sink stopper was plugged so we had to brush our teeth in the bathtub.

We really enjoyed the lovely hotel. Everything was clean and comfortable. I loved the pillows! We had dinner at the bar and breakfast in the restaurant. Food was great and we were impressed with the service.

Fast check in, pet friendly & the French toast breakfast at their restaurant is one of THE BEST I have ever had! Their cafe is authentic & the fruit parfait is a large size with lots of fresh fruits & fresh granola.

I was terribly sad that the pool was under maintenance the whole weekend. They have a real nice small bar set up and food menu that is great. Also, a store for snacks and breakfast choices in the AM.

I paid for breakfast, when I got there it was a grab and go breakfast. Was looking forward to a sit down breakfast!

They had a gas leak so there was no hot water and the kitchen was closed. Those were very inconvenient. But, the staff was very nice.

Staff was generally friendly. Wanted to use the pool but it wasn’t heated like advertised and was too cold. Had breakfast at the restaurant and the 1 person working did not pay attention to our order or what we were saying and kept bringing us the wrong stuff. There was only 3 people total in the restaurant at the time. Parking lot needs work, lots of holes. The beds were not very comfortable, my back is hurting quite a bit after this stay. The pillows smelt like dog and the rooms are not very quiet. The highway noise can be heard all day and night

Food and drinks are very expensive, $7 for a bottle of water, $19 for an Old Fashioned cocktail, $21 for breakfast... I won't be staying there again!
