The room itself was decent the fact that it had doors to divide the living room was nice we were there for leisure but the fact that it was so hot at the hotel we had to check out and stay somewhere else! The elevator was like a suana, the hallways were so hot and stuffy. I advised the staff but he said yes, it’s always hot here so we decided to check out and stay somewhere else

The change in staff as well as updates to the property were very nice. This is our go to place when traveling with the family. The pool was closed during our stay, other than that we had a nice stay.

The staff were all friendly- like they seemed like they actually enjoyed their job. The room was great- clean, comfy, and the upgrade to the double room double bathroom suite was really worth it. The grill outside was clean. The pool area was clean and not busy. There was a fire out outside, and a full basketball court that was really new and nice. The only complaint is that being in the second floor we could hear people above us and they happened to be awake in the middle of the night often. Definitely coming back to this place. Walking distance to Whole Foods too.

Hotel appearance from the outside was nice. Staff were super friendly. However, several things went wrong after we checked in. 1) It almost seemed as if pledge furniture wax was spelt all over the carpet. It left behind an oily residue on your feet and making you slip and slide over all surfaces of floor in the room. 2) The had a fire test done while we were there. While as I understand these things need to be done, they could have kept with the time they told us. They informed us it would be at 10 am, so we left for a couple hours. When we came back after 12 noon, they did the test. It was so loud and miserable. 3) After they did the test, the elevators for the entire rest of our stay broke down and we were not able to access or use them. For someone who is borderline handicap, and placed on the 4rd floor, and then have hotel elevators break down the remaining couple of days you stayed there - well that just put the cherry on how I felt about this hotel. Most likely would never stay here again.

The outdoor pool had a fireplace and a basketball court... This was a great stay The staff were friendly and well knowledge about the area. Breakfast was great different items on the menu on different days but basically your breakfast at any hotel stay. If I'm going back to Austin I'm definitely coming back to this sonesta.

I was given a room that was not very clean and not in good condition. I found hair in my sheets , the refrigerator was very noisy and there was a big stain in the carpet (nton sure if it was urine or something else) I check out of this place and I still don't have my refund.

This is a decent property, clean, and has all the working amenities. But the property has roaches. Big roach in the sink. I called front desk and they sent someone up to kill it and they sprayed. I thought maybe it came From drain. It was huge like a water bug. Go to Breakfast the next morning, dead and alive roaches by the window across from tv. These were small house roaches. I tell quietly tell the front desk because I did not want to cause a stir. Go back to my room a roach in the tub. Yea I was over it. Clean, no trash around, but they have some type of infestation problem in the drain or around the perimeter.

The cleanliness of the hotel room really just ruined the experience. The hotel is newly remodeled and beautiful. And then you see the details of your room. From the pubic hair in our towels and bed, to the red stains in our bedsheets. The staff was very nice and even moved our room. However, the next room was just as dirty with soiled towels , dirty bed sheets, and desperately needed to be vacuumed.

The pictures looked good and the budget was great so we took a risk...and regret it! First, we checked in late and the front desk gentleman was not friendly. but the real issue was cleanliness and comfort. The room was "cleaned" but the floors had dirty on them, the bathroom was old and tired and they had HUGE cockroaches running around. It was scary they were so big! Then the bed, is so uncomfortable our back and neck hurt each morning. The good thing was the nice refrigerator and freezer for ice, etc. We will paying more to stay someplace different.

The room was clean and spacious but the layout was a bit odd. There was a lot of construction being done so we did not get our original room. The staff was great and helpful. They did bring in some dining chairs for us to sit on and the beds were very comfortable. We got vouchers for a meal and we got free parking for the inconvenience so the hotel manager did his best to make us comfortable and to make up for not having our original booking for the Riverwalk room with a balcony.

Good property, decent for the price. King bed with 1 bedroom suites was nice. Staff were great. Breakfast was good as well. A bit old appliances and old switches were kept after the renovation didn’t make much sense but we didn’t mind that.

Room was clean, but looked outdated. Our room was right behind the elevator so we heard the loud mechanical noise every time the elevator went up and down, which made it hard to sleep. Employees at the front desk were friendly and polite. The location is very close to a lot of restaurants and retail stores.

If you are more than 2 people or 2 couples, the room we got with the double bedroom was awesome and affordable. Also had a small kitchen area, which was awesome, and if you wanted to save money cook while in the room. You just have to bring your own pans and other items. But its there.

Quiet, small, quaint hotel with a homey feel. Rooms are well equipped for a long stay, and clean. Staff are friendly. They are quite aggressive about check out so make sure you’re out of the room by 11:05am or you will get a phone call and a visit from housekeeping.

I was greeted by the FD agent with a friendly personal welcome to the hotel and ready to check me in. He was very through and hit all the points he should have. I believe the manager on duty came out and welcomed me. This was very refreshing for a mid-level hotel. I work for a luxury hotel company but do not stay at luxury hotels. My wife and I do not like all the fluff. For us it is all about a place that is friendly, safe, sleep, shower and go the next day. Your hotel hit all those point we needed. We are now a fan and will book with your hotel company is available.

I liked the elevator and easy access to a disability room with a walk-in shower. That was safer than a bathtub for my disabled husband. The staff was super nice, helpful, and courteous. Mike helped move us to a better disability room. That was SO helpful. Jaelen helped, too. The young lady who checked us out was great as well. I didn't like that one of the lamps in the room was not working. I wanted to have a little more light to do my puzzle book. It was the lamp closest to the window in the room with a bathtub part of the suite.

First time you experience Sonesta and it far exceeded our expectation! Every staff person we encountered was so personable, friendly, professional and helpful! It seems like years since we encountered this level of interaction from service industry staff. We've gotten used to setting our standards low - that's how awful it's been. So thank you!!!

I had the worst experience I’ve ever had at this property. From the moment we arrived, there were issues—no TV or internet, and despite the manager’s promise to fix it, nothing was done. The next morning, the stove and coffee maker didn’t work. When I brought it up at the front desk, the manager disappeared. Later, when I showed him my uncooked eggs, he laughed and dismissed my concerns, even making a public spectacle by asking other guests to clap if they were happy. To make matters worse, the front desk misrepresented my concerns, telling other guests I was “talking down” to employees. When I requested another room with a working stove, I was told they were sold out. After escalating the issue to corporate, the manager retaliated by claiming my complaints were “hostile” and forced me to leave the property. I had to find another hotel during SXSW Weekend. This was an unacceptable experience—unprofessional management, poor service, and a complete lack of accountability. I would never recommend staying here.

We arrived, and were told they did not have a room for us, that they canceled our booking! TERRIBLE SERVICE! We were told that they contacted Expedia, and that Expedia was supposed to contact us, to let us know in advance. However, I received no email or phone call from Expedia either!!

Great location and near the Domain! The staff was very kind! There was a variety of options for breakfast every morning. The room was equipped with a full kitchen, an office desk, seating area and a queen size bed. Everything was clean. The decor is a little dated, but I still like the warmth of the earth tone color scheme instead of the institutional grey you will find in newer remodeled hotels. The room was clean as so the bathroom/shower. Stayed 3 nights so they don’t offer housekeeping, but offer replacing towels and trash pickup from outside your hotel door. There is also a $5 parking charge per day.

The staff were amazingly helpful. Everyone was so nice! Parking was easy and the area was safe and quiet with minimal traffic ( by Austin’s standards). Bed was extremely comfortable and the room was super clean. Conveniently located near grocery stores, restaurants, and shopping centers.

The staff of this hotel is the best I’ve encountered at a hotel in this class. Hands down. Other than needing some TLC and updates, the place is great. Breakfast is exceptional, and the choices are nice. Location is very convenient, and the whole hotel is kept very clean. The rooms would be so much more comfortable with coffee in them, rather than just a coffee maker. Nothing is really walkable, but if you have a car, the location has a bunch of stuff very close.

Property is nice, the room was pretty big for a suite. Kinda dated in decor and the driveway has a stop light so not the easiet to get in and out of. Within 5 miles have some good food options and entertainement.

This hotel was great for the price. I’ve stayed at many different hotel chains (Hilton, Marriott, Hyatt, Wyndham), and this one was right up there with them. Actually, the breakfast here was better. Sure, there are parts of the hotel that could use a slight upgrade, but I’ll take the lower rate over new carpet in the hallway. I will definitely stay here again and will look into their other locations.

The staff was nice, check in was fast, the outside furniture was dusty and not well kept, old hotel furniture in the rooms and out. The breakfast food was cold. The fruit had mold and the bananas had been refrigerated. Charged for daily parking. Noisey, no apology for the fire alarm being set off.

The property is getting a glow up but they still have a ways to go. The breakfast area is under construction so they offed a bag breakfast that sugar laden and processed. The toilet in our room backed up and the room was humid. Friendly staff though and there are good restaurants nearby.
