The good: -All staff was very friendly at all times. -For a free breakfast, it was excellent with both stellar hot and cold options. -The gym was serviceable and all equipment was in good condition. Towels were plentiful and the gym bathroom was appreciated. -Beautiful lobby -The indoor pool was comfortably warm. -Room was spacious. -USB charging ports were available. Needs Improvement: -Dark lighting in room. -Too many people smoking at all exits AND in the outdoor pool are. Ban smoking from the outdoor pool area. Ashes were everywhere, including in the outdoor pool. -Heal the outdoor pool. Freezing cold. -Paint the stairwells!

We select this property whenever we are showing livestock in the area because of the parking area. You can drive around the entire hotel and there is also additional parking on a gravel lot to the side of the hotel. If you are traveling and worried about parking with a larger vehicle or trailer then this is a good option.

The parking lot was shared with two restaurants. The building was old but remodeling was in the works. The elevator was oddly placed. The a/c in the rooms worked but sometime you couldn't tell. The breakfast and the pools were both very good.

Even though the hotel was having some upgrades completed the guest areas were neat and clean. Our room was clean and larger than I expected. The bed was harder than we like, but we could just be spoiled by our bed. The breakfast was great! Only thing I really didn't like was there is only one elevator, which was never busy even though the hotel was booked up, that was a decent walk from where our room was located.

Super close to airport-you could almost walk except for the lack of sidewalks. They are remodeling and our room has not been updated but it was still clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great! Real eggs, sausage/bacon, yummy biscuits and gravy and hours till 10:00 am. Noon checkout is nice. Wi-Fi was not good our reception was poor. That could be our carrier so not sure that’s a knock on them. Had to wait 20 minutes for our shuttle but the Asheville airport is so small an hour is sufficient if you don’t have checked bags. The area around the hotel is very busy with lots of shops. Do not plan on walking because there’s few sidewalks but the fitness room was equipped well.

We really liked this hotel! Recently remodeled, super clean, spacious and comfortable room. Breakfast room is big and nice with a larger than normal choice at the buffet even during the week. Outdoor pool is big with an 8 feet deep end. Lounge chairs umbrellas and tables but it needs a little tile work in places. The indoor pool is smaller but heated! I didn't check out the exercise room. One of the better motels in this price range.

Ok for an inexpensive airport hotel. The location is convenient, as is the shuttle service to the airport. The room are comfortable, but the place really needs a face lift. It has a worn feel, especially the rooms.

The curtain in our room was nasty! It looked like it had feces on it and there was mold on the ceiling, the one of the lamps had a bulb out and the remaining was blinking. The other lamp had a shaded tattered and torn. The AC filter could have been better. I broke out in a rash and had allergy induced asthma when I woke up. The AC didn’t work well and it was humid in the room.

Absolutely the worst hotel as far as cleanliness. The rooms were disgusting and the bathroom floors were so nasty . It looked as if the bathroom floors hadn't been cleaned in months and the corners were full of pubic hair and other substances.

This hotel had excellent reviews and an indoor pool so I gave it a try. First I want to say I arrived at 10:30 PM. The gentleman at the front desk was very kind and extremely helpful. When I got up to my room I was unable to use the TV because of inability to connect to the Internet. They were new smart TVs and hadn’t been set up and maintenance had left. He put me in a new room and the remote was missing, he sent me to a third room which appeared OK until after he left, I noticed a bowl of dried fruit loops sitting on one of the surfaces. The lampshade was crooked and dented. I was too tired to deal with it by the point it was 11:15 PM. The next morning i noticed dried sticky sugar on the bathroom sink. I went to use the indoor pool and there was stuff floating in it. Along with dirty towels not picked up. It was disappointing. I was only there for an overnight and made the best of it. I’m not super fussy but my thoughts on hotels -it doesn’t need to be fancy but it is important to be clean and cozy.

My daughter’s team chose this hotel for the team and their families to stay. Although the room served its purpose of somewhere to sleep the room and hotel was in poor condition. The carpet was stained, room was not super clean, fridge wasn’t clean. Several of the families had to request multiple rooms due to them being very dirty (blood on walls, bugs, food on floor). Breakfast was decent. I would highly Suggest getting rid of the carpets in the rooms, they are just too nasty. This hotel could be good but there needs to be a lot of renovations done.

Hotel is right by a main road and there was a lot of noise coming in from the street. Wife complained of an urine like smell in the room. Bathroom door was clearly damaged as if it was kicked in. Bed was comfy. On site Mexican restaurant was very nice and convenient

The hotel has a lot of parking and is clean. Restaurants are convenient. Staff was nice but when we arrived we were sent to the wrong room, which of course would not open, so we had to walk back to the lobby and get the correct room number and keys. We were only there one night but were unable to connect to the Wi-Fi at all. Staff said it was because we had iPhones. They gave us a work around that did not work and even tried to do the work around on our phones/iPad themselves and couldn’t make it work. For that reason, had we been staying longer we would have looked for other accommodations.

Room was adequate and served its purpose. My stay was spoiled primarily from the total lack of WiFi. There should be a warning to travelers that there is no Wifi service currently, eventhough its still listed as an amenity. So i stayed for four nights unable to use my laptop. I would advise calling the property to see if the service is available before booking

Room was good, clean and well maintained. However, AC wasn’t coolong down to the desired temparature. Also, air was not reaching until the bed. Some of the food items at breakfast ran out between 8:30 and 9 on both days I stayed.

Beginning with the positives, the staff was professional and friendly, customer service A . The reason for good reviews is no doubt the employees. The price was good, the bed was comfy and clean, carpet was new and stain free, great location for convenience, restaurants, and shopping. The glaring negative is the run down appearance of the facility and rooms and that the pictures on the internet are not accurate. Stains and damage are plentiful. Hopefully it’s improving.

Staff entered my room with a "do not disturb" tag on the door while I was out. The next morning I got up to take a shower and all of my bathroom linens were gone and not replaced. I had to go to the front desk to get new towels and linens. Cleaning staff had their toddlers with them while entering guests rooms to clean them. Dining staff very rude when asking for more waffle batter because it had run out. Then they left it empty and proceeded to sit around on buckets and chat loudly amongst each other. When I said something about not having any waffle batter the staff was very rude to me.

Check-in was great, staff was friendly and helpful however there was no hot coffee available although i admit it was late evening. Went to check the coffee situation at 3:30 am and there was a couple waiting in the lobby for 45 minutes and there was no one within sight or hearing for all that time! Was a little concerning that the lobby was open but no one was around should help be needed!

We arrived at 3 pm after traveling from Indiana. I asked the check in time and was told that it as at 4 pm but our room could be opened early for 25$. Um, no thanks to 25$ for one hour! Clearly the room was ready. We decided to go to get something to eat. We returned at 6:30 PM to discover that they had given away my initial room and placed us in a room on the far side of the hotel (1 elevator in the ENTIRE building-not centrally located). Upon entering the room we discovered a ladder outside our second story window! AND the window latch was broken! Thankfully there was enough metal to catch on the frame to lock it. I picked up the phone to call the front desk…it didn’t work! I walked to the desk to report it at 7:15 PM. I was told it would be removed. At 8:25 PM the ladder was still there so I went back to the front desk. I told them I would have called but my phone didn’t work. Nothing! No apology to offer of anything. I also informed them that they had charged me the $200 incidental charge TWICE! The worker voided one of the charges but didn’t even apologize. I was told that Jose should be there in 5 minutes. He never showed. The ladder was still there the next morning! VERY UNCOMFORTABLE FEELING - needless to say I didn’t sleep very well. A different lady at check out agreed. SHE was very apologetic and made notes for the manager. We have stayed at this Clarion before with satisfactory experience but will seek another establishment our next visit to Asheville.

The Clarion is a convenient place for lodging and catching those early morning flights from AVL. The price is very reasonable, the room was clean, and the free breakfast was robust and good too. Lots of good restaurants nearby. I'll be staying there again.

Its our 2nd stay. The breakfast somewhat good compared to other places, but same stuff every morning and no hot coffee! Also they do not refill when it's out. Next room is not quite, and also construction trucks are passing by early morning. Beds are pretty comfortable. Only bad thing that we were not happy was that the elevator was not working and had to used stairs with our luggage.

Wifi was bad. Breakfast was bad. Food was not labelled. Breakfast timings were 6am-10am but if you showed up after 9am a lot of the food items like milk and yogurt would be gone with no one to restock it. Overall a very average hotel.

This was my second stay but I won't be staying here again. In fact I cancelled a return stay through town later in the week. Number one (again) the single elevator which is located at the farthest away corner of three long hallways. If you are elderly or in poor physical condition, stay away. Second, I got a room at the end of the long halls. The only way to connect to the wi fi was to stand in front of the bathroom. I realize this is a minimal problem but it is a standard convenience in modern hotels. I would have cancelled my stay if I thought I could have received my money back after the first night.
