Econo Lodge Inn & Suites Columbus near Fort Benning

Some of the staff is not so friendly but they try to be helpful. My hubby is a joker and one woman was not happy about that. She as rude to him because of it. Besides that the place isn’t bad for price. Pool was nice and hotel seemed pretty clean. We only stayed 2 days.

I wish the pool was in better shape to swim it

Only need a place to sleep get off the road from driving so i only stayed for 5 hours. Arrived early 1am so $70 is a bit much. Key card didnt work but was fixed for the most part.Room smelled of smoke. Bathroom was dirty sheets had hair on them. Toilet was having flushing issues bathroom visibly ditry the glass and counter tops. No soap just small shampoo and conditioner bottles. Husband got a rash from using shampoo to wash his hands. The fridge was very clean and kept my water nice and cold. The staff was very nice and understanding. I left after my few hours of sleep. Noticed the pool was empty

Bathroom fixtures broken, tub drain broken and rusty, shower water barely warm, window curtain rod broken, floor dirty, muddy footprints on Bathroom floor,lights that don't work , no maid service, room keys that malfunction daily and must be replaced, swimming pool that has been empty for years...overall dingy condition of room.

It said free breakfast and with swimming pool but only free coffee and the pool doesn’t have water or no longer functional.

The stay was fine. Quiet. Door was open to our room when we got our key. Thought maybe someone was in our room. Other doors were open to other rooms too. That was strange. Pool was not operational. Sheets were clean, but room was a little dirty, and dated.

The only reason i gave this place a 1 star was because i didnt have an option to not give it a star at all. The staff was very very friendly but that was the only positive thing I can say about this place. They advertised a pool % hot tub but both were empty and unusable. Their were bugs all over the rooms, only 2 towels per room for 6 people to use. We had a guy who was scopping my 2 daughters out when they were walking into their rooms then 10 minutes later he comes knocking on both our door (unsure what room they were in) (at 11:30) at night asking us help. We reported him to the front desk and nothing was done about it. The whole experience with this place was just overall terrible. I would not recommend it anyone.

Very bad very dissatisfied there were cockroaches and I asked them for a refund because it is something disgusting and they did not want to do it they said that I was going to send me the refund when I only used the expedia service but I did not pay here but personally at the hotel!! Fraudulent they say no pets and if they accept them! They say pool and the pool was empty!!

The pool was closed both days,the floor was dirty and had not been swept or wiped. The tub was very old and a lot of caulk holding drain together. The desk had a broken leg and repair was poorly done making it unuseable. Found and killed bugs Did not clean room or give clean towels during our stay. Painters left a mess on driveway and unable to park close to room. On 2nd night people outside at 3am were very loud. This was by far the worse place i have stayed at in over 50 years of travel. The office staff was polite

the room was absolutely horrible! Mold in the bathroom everywhere floor and toilet was filthy. floors where dirty through the entire room the bed sheets hadn't been changed for ever and had other people's hair and body hair and bodily fluids stains on them! the pillows had mold on them! i took pictures of everything asked for a different room and was told that was the only one available for an expedia rooms!!! they only refunded me back 1 day when i checked out the very next morning at 930 am!!! Also the handle with the lock to the door to the room was broken and barely could get it to lock!

Hotel is nasty. We were first sent to a room that I’m fairly certain someone else was physically IN at the time, with food all over and the beds unmade. Went back up front and got switched to a new room which was incredibly dirty and roach infested. We didn’t even feel comfortable using the sink to brush our teeth because of the condition of the room. We didn’t bother checking on breakfast because we didn’t want to eat anything stored in the place.

Filthy rooms. Construction going on in parking lot. Workers were filling potholes and dumping fuel on them and burning them to seal. No service for multi day stays. You each get one towel. When we asked for a fresh towel the second day, the employee couldn’t find any clean ones so I suggested he get one out of the many vacant rooms. Lady at the desk was incredibly rude and got mad because I wanted to read anything I signed. Huge fight in the middle of the night among other occupants. Mold in bathroom. Ants and other bugs. Floor was so filthy it blackened your white socks.

Roach motel. They where everywhere. Then tried to cancel at front desk. They said had to contact hotels.com. so i contacted them and they said i had to talk to the hotel. Big waste of time and money

This is the dirtiest motel I have ever stayed in. The sheets, pillowcases and towels dirty and stained. The room smelled. The bathroom and tub didn’t look like it had been cleaned in a while.

The room was not clean. Sparse on towels. No closet. No hair dryer. Pictures made the hotel look much nicer than it was. Only stayed one of our 5 nights due to this and were refused a refund. If you can afford to stay anywhere else, stay there.

Lady at the desk was nice. But when I walked into the room it was nasty! Floors were nasty, dead bugs, mold in the tub, sink counter was horrible, towels were all stained, and bed sheets looked like they had mold spots

This property was not maintained properly, it was not clean at all, there were also roaches within the room, the sheets were extremely dirty, I definitely would not recommend this place for anybody to stay at, although the people there were very nice they should definitely not be in the motel business or dealing with customer service

The rooms smelled like smoke. We even changed rooms. The light fixtures were hanging off the wall. The television turned on but would give no channels. The staff said they would come look at it and never showed up. There are no USB ports in the room and limited outlets. No refrigerator and a very old microwave. The mattresses had old springs and you sunk into them living an indentation when you stood up. Only nice thing - they gave us two free water bottles when we checked in. This is the second time in this trip we were burned at an Econo Lodge. Not worth the savings.

Some electrical parts were not working so I couldn’t even charge my phone toilet wasn’t working and my one of the lamps weren’t working overall terrible

The outside was fine, but the room was a dump, holes in the walls, curtains falling down, black mold in the exhaust fan in the bathroom that didn’t work and was falling out. Toilet had so much caulking to the floor and it leaked.I didn’t know if all the rooms looked like that but the best thing they could do is gut the room and redo it. When I told them about the room they didn’t seem to care. I took pictures to show them that I had not done the damage to the room, so I would not get charged. Not a place I would say again or recommend to my friends. STAY AWAY.

The AC was very loud. I had to use my phone hotspot to watch TV and the only two pillows in the room were terribly flat and useless

Okay if you are looking for very cheap. Rooms need updated. Room had a horrible smell when we arrived. No closet or bar to hang clothes. Had an iron but no ironing board. Blankets are about as thick as a paper towel. No housekeeping during our stay for 3 days. Had to have room key reprogrammed every time we returned to room as it would stop working. No insulation to block outside parking lot noise and there was a lot of loud cars coming in at all hours of the night. Also saw a few roaches. Will definitely NOT stay here again when we return in a couple months. If you are looking for cheap and run down, this is it

The shower was broken and needed vice grips to turn on the water. Toilet paper was out. Noisy outside at 2am

Very tired facility. Lobby door was locked upon arrival. Room fridge had carvings on exterior. Chipped and broken plaster dirty furniture. TV remote or TV did not work. AC filters were disgusting.

We left an Apple Watch in the room, and the manager and staff went above and beyond to locate it and had it at the desk when I got back. Thanks do much

The desk guy was a dick. Acted like we were a problem to his video watching. We ended up calling choice hotels international on them because they didn’t want to give us a refund. There were cigarette burns in the bed linens. There were roaches. And the place was a slum. Not worth a dime. We did not stay here but had to fight to get our money back. The walls and floor look like they hadn’t been cleaned in ages. The smell was awful. Like being in a dirty wet cellar. The desk clerk would not answer the phone. They would not allow us to receive a refund. Even called hotels.com for a refund and they didn’t want to give us a refund so we called their corporate owners. Corporate did end up giving us a refund. Do not book this hotel. And I wouldn’t recommend hotels.com either. They are both a joke and their “refund policy” is a lie. Horrible experience. I wouldn’t even stay there if I were homeless. Here is a photo of the tub… It speaks for the whole room. If I could give the hotel and hotels.com a minus a million I would. They are both shiesty and try to take advantage of you.

When we arrived we had to hunt down the office staff. Whine then proceeded to answer his personal cell and ignore us for over 15 minutes. They show a pool and the reservation was done over a month ago and pool wasn’t and hadn’t been functional for a while. The bathroom wasn’t clean nor was the rest of the room. When we called the front desk nobody would answer so we had to hunt them down. The microwave didn’t work and the phone we had to hold the cord so it wouldn’t fall out. The light fixtures were falling off the walls.

Out of all of my stays in Columbus, this was, by far, my favorite. They were very accommodating, I got left alone for the duration of my stay, and they even allowed me extra time to check out when I overslept. Kind staff, clean room, pet friendly, and decently priced. I will absolutely be back!

The front desk worker attempted stealing my bicycle. I had to file a police report, but soon after he brought it back. They never identified themselves. I found out due to the staff. Also, the front manager Sam was in a physical altercation the night prior to my bike. The lady working the morning shift is rude and almost have my credit card info to someone else, but I was in her presence to interfere. The other staff workers were great, regarding house keeping and laundry. There was cat feces stuck to the floor at the top of the headboard. I cleaned myself due to multiple attempts alerting the front desk. The older staff members last year were much better and appreciated.

The first room assigned to us we couldn't get into because the battery on the door was going dead, so the key wouldn't work. That's not an issue, we got into the 2nd room because the attendant let us in using his master key. He brought back a room key while we were unloading (this is important, and you'll find out why in a minute. ) We are inside, unpacking, putting food in the refrigerator, etc... The room is completely filthy, dust and cobwebs everywhere. All the fixtures were so old they were chipping, and cracking. The next morning I go to breakfast. They have milk, cereal, pancakes, waffles, a few apples, and a few slices of bread. There was no butter for the pancakes/ waffles, no other choices of fruit, no bagels/ pastries. No apple/ orange juice (they did have Kool Aid though) It wasn't your typical motel breakfast, but I guess I'm happy there was something. My family and I go back to the room to start packing. This is when we realize, the room key doesn't work. So, as my family stands outside in the rain I go back up front to gain access to the room. We eventually got in. We started to pack our stuff up and found that the refrigerator wasn't working (it was the night before) and that I had lost all of my food. I go up to the front desk, and tell her the fridge wasn't working. She told me she'd put in a maintenance order (like that would help me) I'm still trying to battle to get any money back for all my list food. It won't let me upload photos for some reason.

It was a great stay for what it was,the price was right. It is an older motel and could use updates but what the property may have lacked the staff made up for in their service and kindness. Very accommodating and friendly

Receptionist walked me to my room after calling a “colleague” to ask which room was “the best”. Asked several times if i had anyone with me or would be having visitors. I thought it was normal the first time, but the continued times were very unsettling. I tried to make the most of it but the bathroom had dirty wash clothes and mold. I felt like i was being watched so I left.

This place had all the basic amenities. It’s not fancy but the room I had was v clean. There happens a graduation ceremony nearby so you’ll see families visiting. I recommend this place for a quick stay/stop.

The customer service was great, very friendly people. When I arrived the hotel looked decently clean but on my last night there I saw roaches coming out of the bathroom door. The bed and blankets weren't very comfortable either. The location and area of the hotel is also not ideal and I felt unsafe. I witnessed a heated argument in the lobby as well right before I left.

Did not even stay there. When we saw it we went somewhere else. It was very sketchy and scary.

No one was even there at 4pm when we went to check in. The place was run down, sketchy looking from the outside so we didn’t even want to see what the rooms looked like! We took the loss and went and found another hotel!! Would not recommend to my worst enemy!!

The facilities need an upgrade. The outer lining of the property was pretty unkept.There was a shed that was falling down in the back of the building. The complimentary breakfast was waffles and coffee with a couple of pieces of fruit, Cereal. Pretty basic. Positives, they left us alone and we were not bothered. They would knock and then we would come to the door and no one was there. We did have our dogs, but could of used fresh towels, etc. They seemed friendly when we interacted with them for the most part. Just not a great place to stay. Good location as far as closeness to the base and shopping. Not a great area overall though.

You could see daylight through the doors that went straight to the outside, I’m traveling alone as a woman and told the manager I did not feel safe but was told to not worry because several people in the military stay there. The room was dirty and insecure so I requested a different room, and was then put in a room that was noticeably dirtier, it looked like only the bed had been made and nothing else, and light could also be seen through the door, although it was less than the first door, it was very noticeably dirty as well . I told the manager I did not feel comfortable staying there due to safety reasons and asked about a refund since I wasn’t staying there, they told me to contact hotels.com, when I did hotels.com told me the property manager is refusing to give me a full refund and I would only be refunded a quarter of the cost of the reservation. I feel taken advantage of and lied to by the pictures advertised and like I’ve been robbed since I wasn’t in the property longer than 30 minutes yet do not qualify for a full refund.

My stay was barely average, the night clerk ask me to wait a few minutes until he finish smoking. I heard gun shots near the backside.

The area had almost no restaurants, seemed rather unsafe. The room wasn't clean, the property was old and rundown. The breakfast options were rather limited.

The breakfast was weak ! They had very little. That was two days in a row.

The room gave me the full slumlord experience. Furniture looked like it was pulled from a dumpster, children’s height toilet in bathroom, popcorn finished paneling evidenced years of amateur spackling repairs, and breakfast was an insult. Hope you like plain Cheerios or waffles. Those were the only choices. Unapologetic sh!thole.

Room was ok, TV didn't work very well. Breakfast was terrible, the fruit and muffin container was dirty, milk was spoiled, had kool-aid that didn't taste good instead of actual juices and coffee was very weak. Unless improved, I would not stay here again.

Was not as pictured on website. You get no refund if you purchase online. There is no breakfast, well not edible. Have nothing ready and not clean. Beware of this property.

There was no hot water, the toilet didn’t flush. There was supposed to be breakfast available and there was the same 3 moldy mini muffins and cold pot of coffee sitting there for the 4 days of our stay. Our room key kept messing up so every time we left we had to go get help getting back in the room. The gentleman was nice and helpful and the beds were clean.

I wish I had taken pictures. To say the room was dated would be kind. The bathroom tub was old , rusted and a leaking faucet. I knew it was. 2* property the bed was clean and comfortable . What was most unsettling was the night staff/early morning man had no people or management skills. There was zero breakfast available , there was a set up but no cups , plates or silverware. No coffeepot, all I wanted was a cup of tea he said we don’t have any tea. From the looks of it they had nothing. no milk , cream coffee etc. Asked if there was a charger for my phone I could use for 15 min as mine broke and I needed my phone for GPS. Was told there were none but if he found one in the back it would be a $5 charge to use it. Was not the money it was the principle. I passed. I am an older woman traveling alone for my grandsons graduation if basic training at FT Benning. If you are in a budget and have to cut connor’s try to find alternate lodging if you are alone. It’s a dark and scary place. They must get a lot of people canceling after check in as there are big signs no refunds after 15 min.
