We had an okay stay at this property. The positives were the free breakfast, the comfort of the bed, the cleanliness of the lobby, and the decorations. The negatives were that our room’s bathtub was dirty, the pool was freezing cold as well as the pool room and unusable, our room smelled like marijuana, and the ceilings were not sound-proof. Our upstairs neighbors were stomping at all hours.

The room was spacious. The breakfast was great. They had everything but a waffle maker. The pool was smaller than expected. 15 people max at a time. The only thing that I didn’t love was how paper thin the walls were. You could hear other guests very easily.

Everything was very nice, well maintained, looked great. Breakfast was very good. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The grounds outside are nice, lots of grassy areas, trees for shade. Also a nice patio with big grills.

Half the reason I stayed here was for the pool, but it was closed when I got there. plus I fully understand hotels doing renovations in the winter, but the smells were super strong to the point where I couldn't breathe in the elevator.

This was our first time in Portsmouth and we liked the proximity of everything. The start was very accommodating during check in and allowed us to check in a little bit early , they also suggested some local things to go and see . The room was clean and a good size. The bed was very comfortable and the room was well kept. We didn’t use the gym or indoor pool but the gym is 24 hours which is great.

The place was very clean and the staff were very helpful and nice. They even kept the breakfast open for another few minutes to allow us to eat. The room was very spacious, clean, and nice. Very happy with the hotel and the staff. Highly recommend.

The bathroom had, what I can only describe as pubic hair, all over the bathroom floor. There was no cleaning staff on that evening so the Front Desk had to clean it up themselves.

Unfortunately, our first suite was dirty. I am not a picky traveler, but the one thing I look for is cleanliness in a hotel. Upon arrival to our first room, I could immediately tell it wasn't up to par. The Fridge (we had a full kitchen in the suite) was filthy, the kitchen floor had spills all over it, crumbs everywhere. The Carpet had crumbs on it. One bed wasn't made properly, looked like the comforter had just been pulled up. Upon opening it up, it was indeed dirty (hair on the sheets), and the tub had hairs in it. Whomever cleaned this room - DIDN'T clean the room! The good news is when I called down, the hotel staff immediately rectified the situation and moved us to another room. The new room was as expected, clean and after that our stay improved greatly. I do appreciate the hotels quick response.

Extremely dirty. Hair all through bed sheets, smelled as if they hadn’t been cleaned. Toilet had feces/urine. Tub was dirty with hair and black mold on edges. Towels had pubic hairs all through them. The noise level was awful. It sounded like those above us were going to come right through the ceiling. Loud stomping and banging at all hours of the night. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Adequate hotel. Nice facilities and location. The TV remotes didn't work and I had to climb up to unplug it from the wall. There was mildew in the bathroom, I notified the front desk but nothing was done. Not enough sheets in the room for the pull out bed and had to call down for more. Morning breakfast was short-staffed a few times and hard to get utensils and plates, no waffles are served on weekdays FYI.

The heating and cooling system was frustrating. It was hard to get it to the right temperature. Either it was too warm or it was blasting very cold air. There wasn't a way to have it blow cool air gently. Thus I was either too cold or too warm.

Definitely quiet, the staff was friendly. The rooms furniture was chipped, dented, and stained. The non stick pots in the kitchen were flaking from over use and abuse. The room was disappointing and one of the worst and most expensive homewood suites rooms I've seen to date.

Expedia states that check-in time is 3pm. It's 4pm. Room still wasn't ready. The TVs only get minimal network channels and logging into Netflix/Prime isn't possible. Also the TV can't be angled to see from the bed or the couch. The mattress was terrible. The HVAC system was super noisy all night. I was charged more than my Expedia price.

The property was nice, the front desk attendant that checked us in was beyond rude, acted as if we were bothering him. I looked away for a moment while hecwas getting the pad ready for my debit card (to get a depisit for incidentals) i didn't slide my card in fast enough and he snapped "would you put your card in" we asked about places to check out and he was rudely said "there are maps right there, I'm not from here" If I hadn't stayed in ho.ewood suites before I probably wouldn't again based on his customer service!

Neighbours on top floor were banging and jumping till almost 1am. We tried to call front desk a couple of times, but since only 1 person was on duty overnight we couldn’t reach anyone. Smoke detectors in every room were blinking right into our faces every few seconds and we couldn’t sleep well. Our bath tub was dirty with standing water. For the second night we did get opportunity to shower in another room. Overall, this is one of the worst maintained Hilton properties we’ve seen.

We went there to spend a family weekend get away for one night. The room we had was great and amenities was awesome. I do have a complain with my check in experience and the front desk service for the rest of the night. This person was not happy to help us at all. He didnt seem like he want to be there at all. Later in the evening I when down to ask for extra towels. He took it out of the closet and just kind of throw it at me and said nothing or even make eyes contact and took off. I did not appreciate that type of service at all. For a hospitality facility he sure not showing hospitable. I was disappointed for the service with this person.

I checked in for an overnight stay with my family and the room we reserved was dirty and smelled like cigarette smoke. The staff tried to re-clean but it didn't work and they had no rooms to move us to. The manager, Kirar, promised a full refund but never refunded the money and now is unreachable. I don't ever leave bad reviews but this is just too much to ignore.

Checked in late. The guy at the desk was not very friendly or helpful to say the least. Then in the morning I got the same type of attitude from him again. So much so that I had to tell him that he really needed to work on his people skills cause he was really rude an i told him I didn't appreciate it at all..

We very much enjoyed our stay here. Staff was great and the facility is very nice. Not that much within walking distance but otherwise convenient location to downtown, 95, and Newington shopping. Will definitely be back!

Very clean and good sized rooms. Staff was very friendly and we felt very welcome. The hotel lobby is spacious and there's a number of tables for guests enjoying the complimentary breakfast. There are a reasonable amount of options for the breakfast, both hot and cold.
