Property is very cute. Great heated pool. Breakfast was nice. Our morning warm so enjoyed sitting outside for breakfast. Our room hidden in back which meant we had people above us. Could hear every time people upstairs walked. Room had very little natural light. Only a shade on window so if you wanted privacy room completely dark Room had a big water stain on ceiling. Could not get tv to work. They said instructions on remote but there were none. Would not stay in that room again but I think a room on front side of hotel would have been much nicer.

This motel was super clean with staff being very nice. Parked right outside room. Room was on the small side, but served its purpose. Breakfast was good. The only complaint we had was that the bugs (tiny, flying gnats) were terrible at nighttime. We got around dusk and was excited to go swimming, but bugs made it nearly impossible. One guest got in pool and almost immediately left due to bugs. I draped a towel over my head and stayed low to water to endure onslaught of bugs. I wonder if some type of bug repellent around property would help.

Room was pretty clean and great for our two night stay. I liked that you could park right in front of the room which was convenient for us with little kids. Breakfast was okay, the dining area is quite small so getting a place to sit can be tricky. The most disappointing part was the pool. It looked green and unkept. We ended up not using it because of that.

We paid an outrageous amount for a 2 night stay and yet the shower had mold/mildew, and we found a full grown bed bug crawling around in our bed the morning of our check out. There was no manager at the facility to report it to when we checked out, so we left it dead on a tissue on the nightstand for the cleaning staff to report. It was a horrifying experience to come home from vacation and have to go through an intense sanitation process to ensure we didn’t bring the bed bugs home. I will never be staying at the Port Inn again. Complete waste of money.

Not sure how this place had 8 stars! Our room smelt like a moldy basement. There was mold and mildew all over the ceiling. We found what we think was dog food that was covered in mold. When I wanted to check out early the front desk didn’t apologize or offer another room. I wasn’t even go to say anything because I hate being THAT person but this was just gross! Ended up staying at another hotel.

We stayed here because I’ve often driven by it and thought it looked nice. We stayed at a room in the back and the room was dirty. There was dirt between the tiles in the bathroom and the carpet made our feet black with dirt while walking on it a very short amount of time. This was not worth the price we paid. The rooms desperately need to be gutted and made new. We won’t stay there again.

The staff was very nice and professional but unfortunately the room was filthy. The floors were sticky in the bathroom and the bathtub was so dirty that we had to put a towel in it to take our showers . The room smelled like mold and the whole experience was very bad . We do not recommend with children especially since the bathtub is disgusting . I would never wash my toddlers in there . The carpet seemed wet all the time. We will not go back to this hotel if ever we are in Portsmouth.

The stay was solid. Morel near the interstate but not downtown. The rooms had been renovated and were modern. The odd part was the floor was slanted. It’s like you walked uphill as you cross the room. That was strange but the room and bed was still solid.

Comfortable beds. Small kitchen was great. Plenty of space in the room. AC was kind of close to one of the beds so wasn’t flowing in the room properly and just into the bed. Pool looked clean but didn’t use it.

Creative is the best way to describe The Port Inn and Suites. The best part of this roadside motel is the creative description of the bottom shelf amenities and creative photography. The breakfast is pre packaged danish. The elegant cage free eggs were cold eggs, shredded cheese and bacon bits on a half of bagel next to a micro wave. The pancake machine is different, but I did not try them. There was cold cereal and packaged oat meal for your stirring pleasure. The pool was creatively photographed at night so you couldn’t tell that it was in the middle of the parking lot. The glorious photo view from the grassy knoll was hard to replicate on site. The room, thankfully, was clean and adequately furnished. As for strolling to historic downtown, shops, restaurants, music hall and the wharf side parks, don’t try it from The Port Inn; too far and too many highways to cross. Don’t expect any help from the staff at check in. The young man who checked us in was baffled when we asked where the Main Street shops were or if there was any place we should definitely see. When asked for brochures or a tourist map he said, “Yea, we used to have those, but we are out.” He acted as though anything beyond handing you your key and swiping your credit card was above his pay grade so don’t bother. Portsmouth was sensational!A must visit for everyone interested in historic sights, cozy shops, beautiful harbor, culturally rich down town market square, art and music center, and flower lined parks

Do not stay here!! We had two rooms. One toilet was clogged when we arrived the other clogged and overflowed the next morning. The manager was rude and said nothing he could do about it. Left us to clean up the toilet water flowing everywhere. Two people in our party could not shower. The next day when I spoke with him his attitude was no better and when someone in Our group knocked over some paper cups he said “nothing but a f***ing doofus”. This is the worst place I have ever stayed! It was old and needed repairs. For the price it should have been way better.

My wife said as we pulled in, “cute place”, so it was a winner from the start. Nice room, nice staff, decent breakfast 6-10am for those that like to sleep in. Really spacious bathroom. Great off highway location. Quiet at night, busy in the morning with an active car dealership across the street. Hannaford less than half mile away.

Hotel was inexpensive and readily available for the night. Beds were comfy, nice large double Queen room. Bathroom was huge in comparison to most motels. A little dates but suited our needs. It’s less than 10 mins to downtown from here, which was great and easy to navigate to the downtown free parking lots. Downside was breakfast which was not a full continental breakfast. Literally it was cereal, packed instant oatmeal, frozen egg bagel halves that neede microwaved. They did have yogurt but was definitely lacking at least some other warm option to chose from. Also, we stayed in the front part facing HWY 1, and didn’t know there was a back section of rooms until the morning. Those would have been quieter than where we stayed. Traffic was loud in the morning. I would stay here again, simply for the cleanliness and price.
