Hampton Inn & Suites Portsmouth Downtown

They over charged me for valet parking. It was pretty absurd. I’m still trying to get the money back.

I definitely would go back there the manager Trevor was great The whole staff was excellent I don’t remember everyone name

We arrived later in the afternoon, received great information about parking and some local places to grab a bite. The room was very clean and super comfortable. Definitely conveniently located for walking the city in its entirety.

Room was nice

The hotel was easy to find and ideally located for downtown Portsmouth. I was frustrated by how expensive the valet parking was, and the lack of self parking options, considering the hotel had its own parking lot. The lobby and check-in process was nice, very clean and orderly. Sadly our room was less than relaxing. I thought having a corner room would be quieter but the floors are poorly insulated, and the stairwell door next to ours slammed very loudly. Worst of all the mattress, was an older spring style, with subpar linens and pillows. Definitely one of the worst nights of sleep I've had at a Hilton property, ever. The bathroom was spacious but there were spots of mold in the shower, and a leak in the door that left water all over floor. With at least 5 other similar 3/4 star hotels within a 2 block radius, I'll definitely try somewhere else next time we're in town.
