Maison Grinder

Warning: No Elevators and Over 20 steep stairs just get to the reception, then another 20 stairs to get to your room! This should have been posted and they do get complaints but don’t publish this because people would not book. We were lucky at arrival and had a lovely young lady to help us with the luggage to our room and we were not so lucky on checkout, the young girl did not want to provide help and did not have anyone designated available. The design is amazing, but not functional. Open shower without a door so the water pours out and it’s exposed glass shower with soap/shampoo dispensers and removable shower head mounted at level bellow the the waist of an average person. No tables to place a breakfast tray on (breakfast was nice and simple). Only one towel hook, so nowhere to hang more than one towel. Nice robes, bedding. Very dark, lighting is cool but does not allow you to see much. Milk frother provided, but not milk?? Looks good but not functional really. Design over function and the intentional hiding the fact that there are over 40 steep steps and No Elevator is a huge issue. So if you are one person with a tiny suitcase or a back pack and need aerobic workout- this is a nice hotel.

We arrived with our puppy, who hadn’t travelled much yet in his life, and we were greeted with belly rubs (well, we weren’t but HE was!), a dog bed and bowls in the room and a beautiful room! Everyone was so friendly and helpful, especially Julie on our first day (she was AMAZING!). We will FOR SURE be back! Thanks for a great stay!

Lovely boutique hotel in a very quiet part of the neighborhood, walkable to pubs, cafes.

Nice fresh breakfast

Lovely place to stay. I felt more like I was checking into a spa as opposed to a hotel.
