All of the floors above the 5th floor are currently under renovation until October 2025 or so we heard. We were on the 5th floor and could definitely hear all the work going on. Pool is closed also. Construction workers took over the elevator one day we were there so had to walk down via the stairs. Normally, we like to stay here but will find somewhere else until renovations are complete.

Good location and very friendly staff. The carpet in the room smells and should be changed. The elevators are slow and the keys were problematic. They worked either getting on the elevator but not when we open the room or one key would not work on the elevator but would work when opening the room.

Google Maps placed us on the backside of the hotel where there was no parking for check-in. The clerk was behind a plastic partition making it difficult to understand one another. Parking was an extra fee of $33/night. The clerk gave unclear instructions for parking and there is no signage for guest parking. The is a parking ramp across the street that says Pagoda Parking but, is NOT affiliated with Pagoda Hotel and is $20/hour. The first thing you noticed stepping off the elevator was the smell of old fish being reheated. There was no soundproofing in the walls or doors, and you could hear everything from doors slamming to garage trucks at 0500 hours. The show/tub was moldy and there was hair on the toilet. I did not use the hotel’s WIFI as I did not feel secure using it. I would not recommend this location for any long-term stays. If you do so, I recommend taking your valuables with you each time you leave the room. There is a $30 amenity fee for WIFI, newspaper, in-room safe, coffee packets, and local and toll-free calls. And a $5 breakfast voucher. I never got a receipt from Expedia and will be keeping a close eye on my credit card bill.

Good location near the Ala Moana Center and next to Biki Bike stands and not far from downtown Waikiki area. Decent $5 breakfast/person. Kind of dated, pool is closed. Unexpected facility fee on check-in. Still, a better value than Waikiki hotels if you don't need close beach access.

Pogoda Hotel is off CBD (Waikiki) so it's a lot quieter and potentially more affordable than those in CBD hotels. Parking is $29 / day, roughly half of private parking garages in CBD. Parking spot is abundant but usually pretty close to fully occupied in late evenings if you arrive back to the hotel late. Staff is friendly and easy to work with. Amenities fees at $30/day is too much considering most of the guests don't need that at all. Also, the hotel building and rooms are very dated, not the cleanest or newest and walls aren't that sound proof, but they are price appropriate.

We’ve had a long day at the airport, flights delayed. Pagoda was our last resort to hop in to catch some sleep for only a couple hours . I have booked and paid for our stay here in hotels.com, and when we showed up to check in, no one was at the window . They explained there was only one of them working and rest were security guards. I was upset of how many extra taxes and fees they ended up charging me. $200+ for just booking the rooms. Once we got there I was charged $80 in amenities fees per room which we never used. Checked in by 12pm and checked out by 7am. + $200 more per room for security deposit. It was ridiculous. For a motel I think that was way over priced. As for cleanliness, Horrible. My room carpet was wet and moist. The room smelt muggy and moldy. Just disgusting.

We didn't stay because it was so dirty. They were carrying beds out of the hotel and actively spraying pesticides when we went to look at the room. It was so filthy we did not stay. I would like a refund

Our overall stay wasn’t bad. The location was ideal for shopping, restaurants, the beach and walking distance from mall. Unfortunately we found roaches in our bathroom. House keeping only comes to clean the rooms every 4 days. But they took out the trash daily as long as you put It outside your door. Although I loved the location. I wouldn’t stay here again in the future.

The bathtub was not clean. When the water was running, dirts were come out from the drain. I had to clean the bathtub before shower. I arrived the hotel very late due to my flight schedule. There was no water bottle in the room. From my hotel experience, hotel provide at least one water bottle. I wouldn’t mind paying for it.

Great central location for riding the bus. Beautiful lobby and pool area. Just a few cleanliness issues that come with an older hotel. Our room still showed signs of its former (rude) guests: gum in the cracks of the shower walls, lipstick on the mirror, group signatures on the mirror when the bathroom fogs up. We didn't end up using the kitchenette partially due to the few cockroaches we saw. We were told that housekeeping would come on the 4th day but apparently the first day we checked in doesn't count (?). They came after the 4th night (which is the 5th day). Housekeeping also came at 8 am and told us they had to enter right then and won't come back later so we had to wake up and get out right away. Front desk was always very helpful. Air conditioning unit was a bit loud but effective. Fairly comfortable stay for a good price. $5 breakfast was delicious!

The hotel had a horrible cockroach infestation. I killed about 16 a night and found them on the silverware, toilet seat, etc. Also had a moldy substance blowing from the air conditioner into the room so found black flakes on bedspread every day. I felt trapped with a non refundable rate.

The room was clean. The bathroom fan didn't work. We noticed cockroaches in the bathroom several times - asked the hotel staff to come and spray the area but during our 10 day stay they didn't send anybody. Had to keep all my suitcases zipped as was fearing to bring them home. First time staying here and apparently the last time.

There was a lot of noise in the morning because of construction work going on nearby. You need a room key to take the elevator to your floor. The key is to insert it and then remove it quickly. The room was spacious and nice

Location is great. Rooms are spacious. AC works. There is a refer and a microwave. Second sink is great. Beds were a little too soft from over use. Bathroom tub is very old, stained and pitted. Shower head is clogged with calcium buildup and shower stream extremely weak. The breakfast coupons were outstanding.

Good -The place is convenient for a stay as it is in the center of Honolulu. Walkable to Walmart, Ala Moana and the Catholic Church. It is near to Waikiki beach. Deficient - The room carpet needs a deep clean (bad odour), windows needs cleaning from outside (for clear vision of the surrounding) and lastly to have a more set of cooking utensils Overall the place serves your needs and requirement

The building appears run down. I lived in Hawaii in the 80’s. The garden and the building’s exterior were immaculate back then. Currently, the Sorabol sign is too big and is an eyesore. The interior hallways are dark and creepy. The rooms were neat but the bathroom cabinetry and tub are worn out. The window was dirty. I’m sorry for the negative comments but I used to dine there with my family and have returned for sentimental reasons but those attributes are no longer apparent.

The room was big and bed comfortable, but the property is quite dated and the AC very loud, requiring me to sleep with earplugs. We were also woken up at 6am by major construction noise for a new build right outside our window, which wasn’t mentioned anywhere at the time of booking. I made a complaint to the front desk but they didn’t take any action and we had the same issue the next morning, and didn’t get much sleep throughout our stay. The restaurant staff on the other hand was super friendly and the breakfast deal was great.

Im only here for medical, location is perfect no need to drive you can walk to walmart and ala moana. I do recommend at least 2 hotel representative to assist customers when checking in. Line can be quite long and slow. Everything else was great.

Your desk clerk is extremely SLOW. A long line of us merely needed to check in, and the desk clerk wasted about 40 minutes on each customer for simple check-ins. Then your desk-clerk charged me an additional resort-fee that was not listed in Orbitz's advertisement for The Pagoda, which is extremely misleading. Pagoda needs to be more honest about its fees, and Pagoda needs to switch to an automated check-in. I am not going to return as a customer. Terrible service.

This hotel is very convenient if you like shopping at Walmart, Sam’s Club, Don Quixote, and Ala Moana Shopping Center. All are within walking distance. However, there are renovations going on in the hotel making for long waits to get in the elevator. $5 breakfast is the best!

I particularly like the fact that it was in a central area to get to the freeway to go anywhere on the island and you're not stuck in Waikiki. It's good to be away from all that sometimes. Don Quiote is the best also! Its within walking distance and convenient and has everything! There were other shops within walking distance and places to eat. Convenient!

The homeless population around the hotel has increased. I like the fact that you needed a key card to operate the elevator. The onsite security kept the vagrants out and the place safer. Not bad at all for the price. I would stay here again. The construction across the street couldn't be helped so be prepared to wake up at 7am every day

We had a great time. We did not come to Honolulu for the beach, we came for Diamond Head, snorkeling Hanauma Bay and Pearl Harbor. It’s very centrally located. Just a few blocks from the Alamoana shopping center.

This is an old hotel. So the room door was cracked. The tub was dirty. The fridge made a noise all night and there was no soap we had to ask for it. But the restaurant my Lord everything was delicious the staff was amazing the juice was fresh and we paid like $30 with tax and tip. That’s why this place gets 5 stars for me. Plus it is in a very convenient location. There’s a Ross, Walmart, Starbucks, and about a mile down is a mall and the beach.
