Overall an excellent location and property. Best unobstructed view of diamond head and partial ocean. Great happy hour specials and pool access. Gym is clean and has all essential equipment. Very nice hotel in great location right opposite of the zoo. We had a double room with diamond head view and balcony (no ocean view) in floor 16 which was quiet. Only the AC outside units have been loud and a bit annoying when being outside. The room was clean and well maintained. The door had a gap to the floor so you could hear a bit the noise from the corridor. The pool was very tiny - I think not even 10m in length - so we did not use it at all. No kettle/coffeemaker is provided in the room but a kettle was put into our room after request. But no cups. One of the three elevators was out of order, so during peak times be prepared to wait. Roomservice is provided daily.

It is one of our favorite Hawaii sites. We are staying there three times this visit. This was our first stay after arriving we didn’t get any VIP upgrades but we are back there now for our second visit this month & have got a room with balcony. The staff are fabulous - we come back again next week so hope our two rooms then will be what they should be. Doing Leo making Tuesday which will be fun. Gym is great.

Hotel is old and could use some remodeling. Upon arrival we were told by the valet(valet parking only) that there were no available places. This continued throughout our stay. We were to park our car across the street in a lot in which we had to pay $45 a day. We were not reimbursed even though we paid a resort fee. We were told by the reception desk that even if we complained the owners probably wouldn’t care. No glasses to drink out of and no coffee, tea of coffee pot. Coffee could be purchased in the lobby. No available places to sit by the pool. Nice view of Diamond Head. The bar/restaurant was very nice and the employees were friendly. Will not recommend this place due to the cost of the room and the lack of amenities and especially the parking situation.

Always love staying here for the staff, location, restaurant, views, etc. On the quieter side of Waikiki. Only downside is the elevator system is so slow, and my past few stays at least one of them was down. They need four, they have three, and two work. The restaurant traffic is half the problem, so they should build a separate entrance and elevator for this.

This is an affordable-for-Waikiki, clean, well-run hotel at the less tourist-mobbed, generally quieter, end of Waikiki. Splurge on a Diamond Head view room on a higher floor for sweeping views of the crater and park. Deck restaurant serves good food at Waikiki prices. The free yoga classes and lei making workshops enhance the vacation experience.

It looks very nice on the exterior, but the interior is dated. The mattress felt like the box springs were going to give through the mattress. The tub was stained, we knew it was clean because the room smelled like bleach upon entry. Spend the extra money and stay somewhere else.

I was out in a handicapped room with two beds instead of the single king I booked. Even after I asked to keep my original reservation the front desk refused to change my room back. There was construction happening in the pool so it was very loud all day and not relaxing at all. In order to use the pool we had to walk to another hotel but it was raining my entire stay so that was off the table. There was poop on the carpet right in front of the elevators that stayed there for a while day even after being reported.

Visited as part of family vacation for 4 nights. Choose hotel as it was close to beach as well as restaurants and shops. Location didnt disappoint. Pool area was nice, we had an ocean view room which had good view of ocean as well as Diamond head mountain. I was located right across from Honolulu zoo which was a nice morning sitting on balcony listening to monkeys have their morning song as.well.as.Lions roar.

Everything was amazing except for our first room, that does not have a balcony. I believe it’s called Studio, the only problem with that one is that the air conditioning unit is right next to the bed, and it is old so not only is it cumbersome, but it sounds like the plane taking off all night long

Value for money did not meet expectations. With retro they clearly just mean old. An attempt to put a semi fresh coat of paint to an old room doesn’t do the trick. The balconies are worn out and unpleasant. The noice level from the street is really bad. All in all, does not live up to its rating nor to expectations, even when the hotel is well located re: Waikiki beach.

The hotel has good qualities but nothing can compensate for the poor quality of the room. No hooks, no hangers, no racks, no place to hang clothes at all. They expect you to arrive with no suitcase and no extra clothing. In addition, the reservationist smirked when he said I was getting a room with ocean view, and I realized he was just taking me for a pushover. The window is the size of a pizza and yes, you can see the ocean if you get close enough. The room was more like a spare closet than a hotel room. Disgusted.

We’ve stayed here dozens of times and always satisfied. This time, upon arrival in our room, there were multiple items needing attention. After calling the front desk, all items were addressed, it took several hours. When I told the manager about this experience, he immediately offered some compensation. I will return. The location on Waikiki can’t be beat.

I have stayed around the world in 39 countries and this was my worst stay at any hotel. We had nothing but issues from check in to departure. The hotel was not willing to honor any guarantee d VIP items. We were double charged and told to deal with our bank and no help. Room had black mold in the shower with worn out doors and paint. For $400 a night and considered 5 stars we were very disappointed. If the staff was more helpful or at least nice I could have overlooked the room. We left Turtle Bay Resort to stay at this resort based on the great reviews. I would not recommend or ever stay again.

As usual a wonderful venue - close to Waikiki but out of main action. Staff were fabulous and we got our first ever VIP Upgrade at the Queen. We stay often & this trip it’s three visits there - the first we didn’t get any VIP EXCEPT wonderful staff remembering us!!! We have had our second stay & it was wonderful (make sure to book early for Lei making) now fingers crossed for upgrade for our next visit next week with two rooms doing a memorial for my 99 year old father who died just before Christmas. Hui hou Queen Kap 🌈🌈🌺🌺

This was my first time staying at this hotel. I appreciated to be able to text the hotel with any questions about the hotel before my stay. Upon arrival, the valet and bell hop was very pleasant and helpful. I was happy to be able to check in early and receive an upgrade to a suite. Our room was very clean and we had nice ocean view. We dined at The Deck. Our waitress was very friendly and the service very quick. We were there for Happy Hour and the food was really great! Check out was very fast and easy. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Your room is impacted by whether you book directly on the hotel’s website or third party website. The front desk told me ‘No, you booked through Expedia and that is only reserved for guests who book directly through the hotel’ when I asked for a king bed in my room and if there were suites available to upgrade to (with pay) from our ocean view studio. On top of feeling like a second class citizen for booking through a third party, the front desk originally said our room wasn’t ready then called to check. I could hear her asking if they were sure the room was ready again and again on the call. When we got to the room, it was small and crammed, smelt of must, buttons were broken on the ac unit that sounded like an airplane jet, a bed that seemed like a full size bed not nearly a queen sized bed, and the bathroom was not clean and towels used. We ask to switch rooms and ask us to ho back down to check into another room, however, they didn’t apologize and didn’t offer to help move our luggage to the next room as if they were doing us a favor. We were excited to try the dole whip at the shop in the lobby. To our surprise when you order it in a cup they will serve it in 1oz paper dixie cups. I recognized the same cups we use for our dental patients to rinse out their mouth after a cleaning. Won’t be staying here again and wouldn’t recommend it. The best thing going for this place is the advertising. There are better options within the same price range.

Awesome service, very well melted and clean, Pool area was very serene and relaxing. Hostess in the restaurant was rude and wouldn’t bring are food to us and when I asked for condiments she suggest I go down stairs to the cafe area and I said I ordered my food here and would like condiments she wasn’t happy but gave them to me.

Love staying here as it’s in a great location at the end of the “strip” and across the street from the zoo. 2 minute walk to the beach with magnificent unobstructed views of Diamond Head and the beach. Surf shop in the hotel with multi-day rentals and lockers, near the beach is very convenient. Being at the far end of the strip, across from the Zoo helps with the noise and makes you feel less part of the concrete jungle that is Waikiki, but still close to businesses.

This hotel had fantastic valet and front desk service. The gym was also wonderful. The housekeeping staff was very friendly and helpful. We were disappointed with the lack of adequate service at the onsite restaurant and bar and so we ate out in other restaurants during our 12 day stay. We but would be happy to stay at this location again!

Overall a really good value and location is great. Rooms were clean and there was room service daily. The drink selection could be better at the Deck restaurant. The hotel offered towels and beach chairs that you could use daily. The $50 per day resort fee though could have included more amenities than just towels and beach chairs (snacks, waters, free drink..) We only received one voucher for a light breakfast (coffee, fruit or yogurt, and a pastry) for one morning only.

The hotel itself is located in a great area. Close to the beach and shops and restaurants. The cleanliness of the lobby needs to be improved but our room was very clean. We paid extra to experience a view of Diamond Head and the ocean which was worth it. The staff were awesome. Restaurant is great for breakfast but dinner menu choices are limited.

Great hotel. Close to Waikiki Beach and Diamondhead SP. Room was clean. Hotel has a Concierge for easy your planning. Restaurant is a bit expensive but that's Hawaii. Love the bar. Bathroom was clean but could use some updates. Took a star off for lack of onsite parking. Valet is come first, serve first. Once parking is at capacity, patrons have to look elsewhere.
