Paid for a beach view room and that is what we had. Wish we could've been down a little more to see the sunset from our balcony. We watched volleyball tournaments and even got to watch a movie from our balcony during Southwest's movie at the beach night. The hotel lobby was always clean and they have complimentary Sunbum Sunscreen and After Sun Lotion. Still haven't made it to the pool because there are never available chairs when we want to go to the pool. It seems early morning or late afternoon are the best times to go. We did have the fire alarms go off the first night here at 11 pm and when I looked out my room door water was pouring down from floors above. Not sure exactly what happened but we never left our room, but the next day, all the elevators were down and we had to walk down 9 flights of stairs to find new check-ins waiting in the lobby to walk up the stairs to go to their rooms. The got one elevator up finally by the afternoon and the elevators have been hit or miss until yesterday when they finally got all 3 working.

Our room was amazing with views of Waikiki Beach and Diamond Head Crater! Stunning every moment. Of course, the room was clean. The staff was consistently friendly, helpful, and warm, bringing blankets and towels whenever we needed them, even during a storm. The location of the hotel was perfect with beach access across the street, and the hotel provided all the beach gear you need for relaxing under an umbrella on the beach. There was free coffee in the lobby in the morning. ABC convenience store right outside the lobby was helpful. The Japanese restaurant in the lobby was also excellent. Super authentic. We had a wonderful time.

Pros: near beach, near Zoo, near Diamond Head, near publics surf break, easy to walk to beach, restaurants, stores, etc. Discount at Lulu's restaurant. Cons: Waikiki is overpriced for everything, nothing is affordable anymore. Hotel is overpriced and outdated but as noted EVERYTHING IS CRAZY EXPENSIVE in Honolulu, but clean and across the street from the beach, nice welcoming staff, decent pool, but no hot tub. Overall positive experience with two kids.
