Comfort Inn Oxford - University Area

Pool was closed "for maintenance." Breakfast buffet trays were empty the first morning. Otherwise a nice stay.

Initially at check-in we were told the pool was closed for maintenance. Then later, was told it was fixed and open. There was a layer of film on top of the water and it was freezing cold. The room itself smelled weird but appeared clean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was awful. We ended up going out for breakfast. The photos listed on the website are not of the hotel itself.

Clean room, great beds and bedding. The shower was just a plastic shower pan and water got all over the place. Otherwise was a good room. Air conditioning worked great too. The pool was under renovation. Breakfast was sparse and not that great.

Pool was down is my only complaint

Tired property needs some remodeling. Adequate for a short stay but expensive due to its close location to Miami of Ohio. Small gym with broken machines.

Claimed to have a pool, but it was closed. And had been closed for many months.

This hotel was so gross we barely made it through the stay. Hair all over the bed, dirty old toilets and sinks, just not a good experience. The front desk staff was all extremely kind but the cleanliness was a huge issue.

Run down and overpriced. Did not shower as moldy .

The hotel was not clean. Your feet will be black after walking on the carpet from the bathroom. It is an older hotel in a college town so not much was expected. Breakfast was just cereal and muffins. We stay at a lot of hotels and this one is one we will not be visiting again.

I read the reviews for this hotel and I thought maybe people were being a bit dramatic but then I stayed a night and they were not being dramatic. The room was exceptionally dirty. There were rips in the sheets, and the faucet was covered in lime scale. The sink didn’t drain. There were dead bugs and flies on the windowsill. The toilet was exceptionally dirty. The towels had not been washed they were just re-folded from whoever stayed blast and every surface was covered in dust dirt and a film. I was very disappointed in the facilities at this place.

No one expects Comfort Inn to be fancy, but it should be clean. The carpet was poorly vacuumed, and the chair in our room was filthy. Flooring was peeling away by the air conditioning unit to reveal mold. Everything is shabby and badly in need of cleaning and/or replacing. I gave 2 stars for a convenient and safe location.

This hotel is in desperate need of a facelift. While clean, the bathroom had visible mold and mildew around the shower.

Dirty & Run Down. Really Dirty. The facility is run down and simply dirty throughout. The photographs online are deceptive and not representative of the current state of the facility. My first clue was the common hall, followed by the room where there were stains in the carpet, the toilet not fully cleaned, nor the sink. The iron warmed but did not fully work, the ironing board was torn and more. The dining area is awful. Over the two days there the tables were only wiped down once I think, if that, as I constantly saw that no one cleaned up after breakfast and the table tops were dirty when we arrived at the hotel the first night and only cleaned late the next night. Food that I saw left in the waffle maker was there the next day and many items were not restocked which is a shame for such a small kitchen. We stayed 2 nights and after stopping back in on the first day I asked for the room to be serviced as it had not been by 1.00. We returned around 11.00 that night and it had never been serviced. I received an apology and an offer for a new room but that late we dealt with it and I feel housekeeping is such a basic that I should not have to ask for. I gave this a poor rating overall because of the location having stayed in Indiana previously where I will return to if the Hampton Inn is full. I gambled on the Comfort Inn, lost, and recommend you do not gamble on it either.

Unkept, musty smells and dirty feeling

1st room we were given the toilet did not flush and one of the beds was extremely slanted. We switched rooms and the 2nd room did not have any air conditioning. 3rd room was fine.

A standard 2-3 star hotel. Comfortable beds and good sized rooms. Aged infrastructure.

Shower temperature wasn't good. Starting as very cold and then mid shower would turn scalding hot.

The price was very high at $500 a night, the towels were old, the shower was warm at best, and the outside doors slam so it’s very noisy all night

Dated and need bathroom redone toilet wouldn’t flush correctly and shower kinda gross. Breakfast was not worth bothering with.

It’s fine for college move in and out. The beds are very comfortable.

Good location to the university, staff were pleasant and helpful. Hotel needs updates. Toilet was loose. Shower control moved off wall, and bed was tilted but comfortable.

Overall, my stay was great. However, it just seems that the overall facility is dated.

The bathtub was filthy. The shower head and faucet were leaking. There was debris from the ceiling or the wall in the trashcan. There was water damage on the ceiling. and there was no hot water to wash or shower with. Overall a terrible experience.

Safe. Clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking.

We used this place many times before, not sure if new owner or what, but staff having attitude when checking in, and rude when we drove for 12hrs got here too early, and when they explained it was too early for check in had such an attitude about it, i know we were early, but being tired and awake for 24hrs, we had to kill 6 hours and stay up longer just to wait to check in. The prices are ridiculous, how does it jump from 100 something to almost 500 something to ADD another day to our reservation… if you are staying in the area… stay away from this location

Our room was dirty, The breakfast was terrible—one of the sausages was dry as the Sahara and I fear had been reheated from the breakfast the day before. So glad I didn’t get food poisoning. The fried eggs looked like little yellow rubbery pancakes. The man at the check in desk was polite enough but cheerless, lethargic, and incredibly slow at his job. The equipment behind the desk used to process my payment and check us in looked like what they used back in the 1980s. I believe the staff should tour a few other hotels just to see how others manage guests. We asked the man at check in if he had any restaurant recommendations for us, and he couldn’t think of a single one. It was weird.

Would not honor a cancellation request. Incredibly difficult to get a hold of and not helpful at all.

When we arrived to check in, no one was at the desk for several minutes. The fitness room was inadequate. The breakfast buffet was out of milk and syrup and again, no one was at the desk to help.

Staff were very accommodating, location is close to campus. All around a pleasant experience.

Don’t waste your money. Due to travel delays, we checked into hotel at 1am. The hotel smelled terrible and our room was 80 degrees. Had to put cold washcloths on my kids to get them to sleep. Got to breakfast 1hr before it ended and there was nothing left (have pictures). Bold coffee was brown water. We travel a lot for sports and I’ve never experienced anything like this before.

The breakfast area was dirty. It had not been cleaned in a while. Missing utensils. Cold eggs and sausages. Unappealing presentation. Dark-I guess the lights were out. I will not stay here again.

Basic hotel. Inflated price for move in weekend. Entire place needs an update. Breakfast was not worth the effort.

Hair dry in room didn't work. The breakfast (where you actually get the food) was filthy. The syrup dispenser cup that catches the drips was never cleaned out, the spatula that you get the waffles out with was caked with food. One day there were no forks and the coffee came out as hot water and the reservoir for that was over flowing onto the counter and floor.. I've stayed here several times and have never had a problem. Didnt recognize any of the people working there.

Paint was peeling off wall in bathroom, sheet had crusty spot, ac made carpet wet, orange juice no good and turning brown. Staff was very nice
