Great location, close to three muni lines. Self parking is easy but expensive. The only downside was related to other guests not knowing how to park and almost missing the checkout time having to wait more than half an hour for an elevator due to heavy traffic on the top floors.

I would rate this hotel around 4 stars, but unfortunately the overall quality seems to be declining. The breakfast was disappointing, especially considering the high price. Parking is also quite expensive. For one night it was okay, but if I had a choice next time, I would look for a different option for the same money.

This has to be the worst Doubletree I have ever been to. What is the point of having pre-check-in with a digital key when they make you stand on line, where only 2 people were working with an extremely long line, to get your parking ticket stamped?I know this is Los Angeles but $64 for valet parking is extremely steep.I don't know if there were broken elevators but they were so slow and whenever one would come they would be completely filled. It took us over 15 minutes to get to our room. We went to their Japanese Garden which was one flight above the lobby. There wasn't a stair case for us to use so once again we had to wait for an elevator that wasn't packed, which again took us another 15-20 minutes.In our bathroom, there must have been a leak because there was water damage on the ceiling. We had to call maintenance because the shower head was turned so tightly we couldn't move it. I am a light sleeper, and at 3am people returned to the room adjoining ours. They were not yelling, they were not having a loud party, they were just having a normal conversation. It felt like they were sitting on my bed talking to me. This is an old hotel and needs major renovation. I don't recommend .

3rd stay. Appreciated the staff for holding my bags prior to checking-in while I explored L.A. as my train from Chicago had arrived well before 4pm. The Garden was nice and the walk to/from Union Station (10-15 mins) was close enough for me.

The staff was very nice and professional. The restaurant and bar closed to early. When trying to call the restaurant to place a carryout order because I was checking out no one answered the phone. The wait for an elevator was very long most times. I only saw 2 out of the 4 elevators in use during my stay. The neighborhood was less than desirable. There waa a 7eleven conveniently across the street but it did not feel safe. Nor did the area when trying to find a restaurant in walking distance. Because the area is unsafe it wouls be nice if the hotel bar & restaurant offered later hours.

I love how close it is to Little Tokyo and 7Eleven. The rooms are kind of old and bathroom could be renovated. However, the gym and garden were beautiful.

For a family trip they did not have a pool. Clean place. They did have an issue with no hot water for a couple of hours. Love the restaurant on site which offered different choices.

I paid for my hotel room up front and still got charged to park on the property. I was like really? Where am I gana park. They charged me 51 dollars to park. That should be included when you book a room at any hotel. Ridiculous fee

The hotel is dark and old. Bathroom is tiny, carpet looks dirty and old. There is no slipper plus the carpet is so dirty to walk with bare feet. My kids do not feel comfortable because they are so itching. There were red spots all over her body and it took a good amount of time for her to fall asleep due to the itchiness. Customer service in the front is good just the hotel itself needs improvement. Will not recommend if traveling with little kids.

Unfortunately, our one-night stay was disappointing and not worth the $190 rate, plus a $75 deposit and $47.50 for parking. The bathtub had visible rust around the edges of the drain making it look and feel unclean. In addition, both the sink and tub drained very slowly, which was unpleasant. The parking structure itself felt sketchy—we had to park all the way at the bottom level, where there was no cellphone signal at all. It felt unsafe, especially arriving so late at night. Upon check-in at 2:30 AM, we were given rock hard cookies, and the front desk simply apologized, which felt odd and unwelcoming. We requested a late check-out due to our late arrival, but housekeeping came by twice in the morning to check if we were still in the room. As we were leaving at 12:06 PM, I reminded the staff member that we had a late check-out, but he responded with an attitude, incorrectly stating that it was already 12:15. The entire departure felt rushed and unprofessional, as if we were being hurried out rather than treated as guests. Overall, the experience did not reflect the cost or expected level of hospitality.

The cookies were key. They gave me two and I really needed one and saved the other in my purse and I had to work through lunch and was thankful for the cookies. The wifi connection was frustrating. It did not work. I called downstairs and no one answered (it was 6am). I called the help line and they were not useful. I called again later and the front desk told me to use code Guest20. Why couldn't they post that in the room? I spent 40 minutes trying to connect. The eating options in the adjacent plaza were good. Nori and Rice was super good and cheap!

So I almost did not choose this hotel because all the hotels in downtown LA received such awful reviews (especially on Google). However, I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel was lovely, had a great view of the grounds from my room. I felt safe and it had lots of bar/restaurant options. Only complaint was thin windows.

This hotel is close enough and walking distance from the Amtrak station and to the historic Broadway Station to take the Metro. It's also I'm walking distance to other places like liyttle Tokyo, Olvera Street and Grand Central Market. The only thing I question about safety at this hotel is why there are No Locks on the windows. I could hear outside noises really well so I went to check to make sure my window was closed. On our last stay, I noticed that there were no locks on the windows of the 18th floor and it seems very unsafe for everyone especially children.

Hotel was pleasant enough but oh my word, the area is well dodgy! Not safe to walk around day or night without encountering dubious characters. We stayed because of the proximity to Union Station but Little Tokyo is not somewhere you would choose to be. Restrooms in reception area were not accessible without a key which I guess is to do with the area it’s in. Room was fine, bed was comfortable but noisy with sirens day and night. Windows must be very thin. Convenient 7-11 store just opposite. Did not eat at the hotel.

Overall, my stay at this hotel was quite good. The room was spacious and clean, which made for a comfortable experience. However, there were a couple of things that could use improvement. The television had some lag issues, and sometimes it would turn off when switching channels. Additionally, the lighting by the closet went out completely during my stay. As well as some outside noise, but hey it’s downtown LA. These were small inconveniences, but they didn’t overshadow the overall experience. A solid, decent hotel that I’d recommend for a short stay.

The room was really nice and the location was great — no complaints there. However, the front desk experience with Sofie was disappointing. Her attitude came off rude, and when my elderly mother needed to urgently use the restroom, she still made us wait instead of helping. It definitely took away from an otherwise good stay. We first dropped our bags off due to the room not being ready, and we were able to get a key to change in bathroom . When we got back to check in we asked for the key and Sofie said the keys don’t work it would work once she checked us.. I advise my mother needed to use the restroom and she still made us wait. She gave ZERO information about parking or that the machine was down. She wasnt helpful at all.

Asked for adjoining room with family when we booked room, told we got, but didn’t upon checkin. Room was dirty, carpet not vaccuumed, hard surfaces not wiped down and lacked ongoing maintenance. Hotel in general needed many many repairs. No hot water in room for showers, eventually remedied. Wasn’t given water bottles upon check in, when I asked about getting some I was told I had to be a Hilton honors member - which I am. Front desk attendants always rude and bothered when asked for help.

Clean comfortable room. Easy walk to public transport. However, LA downtown is certainly not picturesque or a nice part of LA. Lots of homeless people. Lots of empty shops. Seems like a city centre that is dying.

Lots of dining options nearby. Bed was comfortable and the garden is lovely. Lots of street noise on a Friday night. The bottle of conditioner was empty in the shower. Very nice lobby. Staff was polite and check-in was easy.

i enjoyed our stay here at the hotel, it was comfy and very convenient to Japan town. Walking distance to all the restaurants. Rooms were clean and bed was soft, we enjoyed our stay. Front desk was very courteous and checking in was seem less. Love the complementary cookies. I would stay here next time I am DTLA near Japantown.

I always stay here if I am going to an event in downtown. The location is super walkable to little tokyo and many restaurants. Rooms are nice and spacious. Parking can be a hassle but I usually just parking in an alternate lot next door for much cheaper.

This place served it's purpose nicely for a somewhat inexpensive one night stay near the train station. I was misled that breakfast was included, it was actually $32 per person if you wanted breakfast, NO THANKS! Glad we didn't have a car, as parking is insane as well.

Property is outdated. The room was ok but not worth $250 a night. Location is convenient if you're going to a Dodger game. $50 for a breakfast buffet is outrages. We woke up to cigar smoke coming through the ventilation. Staff was accommodating and friendly otherwise it would have been a 2-star rating.

Bathrooms are very clean but poorly designed. No fans in bathroom. Poor lighting. Due to a solid glass panel you must be in the shower to turn water on. Sprays everywhere. Eating and drinking options are very expensive. $36 plus tip for 2 mixed drinks. Staff was great. Hotel very clean.
