Hard Days Night Hotel Liverpool

Grander than expected. Large building that may once have been a bank. Warm welcome. Upgraded room with balcony. Really nice. Only negative was musty smell in bathroom despite the fact they had the fan running 24/7 Restaurant dinner and breakfast were really good. Live music at 8 and Happy Hour in the bar from 4-8pm Excellent themed decor.

Having an issue of the water randomly turning off for the hotel, and only finding out about it via a sign on arrival, is poor service, honesty and etiquette. Made worse by, of course, it happening while I’m in the middle of showering and rushing to get ready for an event..

No parking lot

Hotel was right next to the Cavern club great location hotel was clean and tidy, No parking but was discounted for a car park around the corner.

The hotel itself is in a nice building, centrally located, comfy rooms. It felt a little under staffed thought the staff they did have were VERY friendly and accommodating. There is a large set of stairs to access the building, no elevator and the service elevator was BROKEN. Given the demographics of the guests this seems very important to get fixed asap. Do not consider if mobility is an issue.

We were given a terrible room which was noisy until 2am due to the proximity of bars. There was no window. The lifts were broken and the air conditioning faulty. And it cost £180 for one night.

Well located with friendly staff but the hotel is starting to sum up the term ‘faded glory’ unfortunately. Carpets are looking worn, as are the bedrooms generally, and the air con wasn’t working anywhere in the building which meant a very uncomfortable night. A week after our visit, a family member is staying in the hotel as I write this review and it still isn’t working. For the price we paid, the hotel was fine but it really does need renovation otherwise it will begin to get a negative reputation.

We stayed at the Hard Days Night Hotel in Liverpool for one night in a deluxe balcony room. While the hotel itself has a great location, and the staff were friendly, our experience was let down by a significant issue with the water supply. During the night, we had no water at all in our room. I woke up needing a drink but had no access to water, and by morning, when it returned, the pressure was extremely low, making showering difficult. Upon check-out, I raised this with reception and was simply shown a small sign stating that the hotel was experiencing water problems. While I appreciate that unexpected issues can happen, this should have been communicated to us at check-in so we could have prepared accordingly. The room only had two small bottles of water, which we had already used, and for the price we paid, I would have expected more provisions—especially considering other hotels at a lower price point offer stocked fridges with drinks as standard. I was advised to email the hotel manager to follow up, which I did over two weeks ago, but I have yet to receive any response. Given the size and reputation of the hotel, I find this lack of communication and customer care quite poor. We stay in hotels regularly, and unfortunately, this experience didn’t meet the standard we expected for the cost. A lovely hotel in many ways, but the lack of transparency and follow-up on issues leaves a lot to be desired.

Nice hotel but….no parking( its a few blocks away) stairs at front you have to being your bags up, bed was pretty firm( i guess thats uk) and our room over the beatles alley ( which is cool, but also loud when a busker with a drum kit sets up belows you) also restaurant and bar close at 9 on a friday night. And its almost impossible to get food near there after 9 except the corner take away( though it wasnt terrible)

Had a good stay room very good lovely and clean would stay again.

Check in was fine, luggage stored. No information given about the hotel. Room very small but ample. Cleanliness of room was poor. Bedside lamps covered in visible dust, bathroom floor tiles cracked, grout missing,shower screen mouldy, We when returned around midnight, nice to see security on the door. When we got to our room we had no running water, phoned reception to be told they would reset the pump again. Then we noticed our sink didn’t drain either. Overall disappointed with our stay in reflection to the cost.

Fantastic hotel, very friendly staff, very clean every where, room was very clean and comfortable even had hair dryer and ironing board and iron, toiletries as well and what made it great for me was my favourite Beatle Ringo right above my bed ❤️. Seen some reviws that were really horrible and i can't understand why it was amazing and very central 1 minutes walk to Mathew street. Definitely stay there again 10/10

Not what we expected! The reception area was full of Beatles memorabilia but looked tired. When checking in we produced our Apple pay credit card to be told that was not expectable and if we could not produce a physical card they would not check is in! Even though we had paid in full before arriving. We got round this issue but left a sour taste in our mouths. We then went up to our very plain room. If it wasn’t for the one picture of John Lennon we could have been anywhere. There was heavy dust along the skirting, which we discovered when we tried to get to the socket to plug in our chargers. There were no glasses in the room for water. Breakfast was good and plenty of it, we tended to go about 9.30 and it wasn’t too busy. Be very aware of noise, not only from Matthew’s Street but also the trains running under the hotel!

The room was ok, very noisy The windows has not been cleaned for years, hard to look out through them. There are no fridge, no glasses and no amenities in the room. If you forget to hang out a message, nobody cleans the room. Might be green policy, but it’s not visual in the price. There are no hooks to hang your clothes on.

Definitely needs upgrading & better cleaning

Arrived hot and tired, got to the room. There was no air conditioning and a fan on the nightstand. It looked like someone had laid in the bed, made a cup of coffee, ate a biscuit. Left dirty cup and spoon, hairs in sink. Not impressed. Walked out and went to the Municipal Hotel and Spa which was wonderful.

We stayed in a classic double bedroom, it was very spacious and clean but there are no sockets by any of the mirrors so if you want to wash yr hair you cannot use a hairdryer or straighteners by a mirror. You also have problems putting make up on as the lighting in the rooms are rubbish.

Very clean, comfortable, and updated. Great restaurant and bar on site. Close to Cavern Club and related sites. Would definitely stay there again. Great staff!

Nice room and comfy bed

No view from the balcony. No mini fridge. The pillows were small old and flat. Coffee in the room terrible.

Great sized rooms. We opted for a balcony room which was nice to have! Such a huge and comfy bed! Usual shower facilities (not too much space to move in it but it did the job) but also had a really good sized bath! Everything everywhere from entrance to bars to corridors to rooms was immaculately clean.the staff were all incredibly up beat, polite and friendly. We will definitely be staying again on our next visit to Liverpool. Great location right at the side of the cavern quarter and near all shops and a short walk to Concert Square and Albert Docks. And of course, all things Beatles - amazing to walk around and see memorabilia and photographs!

Great location. Nice room- bug enough to open a suitcase. The air con wasn't working, so we opened the sliding door (nice balcony- another plus), but there was significant street noise, particularly early mornings (trask pickup, perhaps, though it was extended) which was a bit frustrating. No biggie, but something to be mindful of if you're a light sleeper.

I have wanted to go to Liverpool for A Long Time. I’m a huge Beatles fan and when I heard about Hard Day’s Night I decided to stay there. I had a fabulous trip and the hotel was fine. My only complain is the lack of air conditioning. Our room stayed around 27 to 28 degrees the entire visit. Now we really only stay in the hotel to sleep and then shower and dress for the next day. The bed and toilet facilities were fine. But sleeping and dressing in a room that hot was miserable. The front desk attendant told us that many rooms were without AC. She said the problem was being addressed. They provided us with an oscillating fan but that didn’t lower the room temp. It really was like sleeping and dressing in a sauna. We were very uncomfortable in our room, but everyone was so nice that we simply tolerated the adverse conditions until we could step out into the hall where the temperature was much more bearable. The room windows did not open, so that did not help. The location of the hotel, price, and overall aesthetic was A+ and 5 stars. If only that AC had worked.

We stayed in a room on the 3rd floor, however, there wasn’t a single plug socket by any of the mirrors installed in the room. I asked at reception for a portable mirror but they don’t supply so I then requested an extension lead as I could stand at a mirror to do my makeup or dry my hair. This was a very special occasion for my husbands 60th birthday celebrations and I had to use the camera on my phone to dry my hair and put my makeup on as the lighting was also very poor. I would like to speak to someone regarding a compensation refund for the room. Will never use again

We had a wonderful stay at this excellent hotel. The staff couldn’t be anymore helpful and the location was perfect. A special mention to the girl in the bar. She was lovely, friendly and made the nicest cocktails. The reception staff were also so friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

Staff were rude, avoided eye contact, never smiled or friendly. They seem to be really unhappy, male, glasses, in his 50s had stinking attitude to the point I asked him if he was ok. Hotel looking a bit tired in areas, carpet in main area torn and frayed. Was advised bar would be open at 3pm, 3:05 still waiting for staff who never apologised for being late. Decent hotel but lost its charm and sadly customer service.

Every member of staff we came across from reception at check in, check out and the bar staff. Were extremely welcoming friendly and efficient. A special mention for the comedian Eric.

Lovely hotel, unfortunately reception service was not great. We ordered 2 Lattes and they were cold. Struggled to identify accountability and still awaiting a refund.

The staff were fantastic. They went above and beyond. The hotel is gorgeous in a great area of town. Can’t say enough good things about this hotel. Mahmoud the manager was amazing. And Johnny the in-house musician was fantastic

The hotel was good until it was time to check out. I called reception trying to get help with my luggage and no one answered. I went down lagging my luggage and complain but was told they were busy with guests checking out. The kind of response you don't want.

Just spent a great evening in lovely Liverpool and I highly recommend other visitors to choose Hard Days Night Hotel as their place to stay. Lovely friendly staff that were informative with all questions asked. No request was too big or small. When I visit again, I will definitely be staying there once more. Thank you to all the staff for making my stay pleasant. Eric & Mo are an asset to the hotel.

Great friendly staff and a lovely hotel

We could hear the music from Matthew Street until the wee hours of the morning.

This hotel was perfect for us as big Beatles fans. It is located directly next door to Mathew street where the Cavern club and many Beatles themed bars are. Walking in the opposite direction out of the hotel brings you into a huge pedestrian shopping area with every type of store or restaurant you could want plus a movie theater. The hotel itself is filled with all things Beatles and we enjoyed just taking them all in. Staff there were friendly and helpful as well. Due to its location, it can be a bit loud at night so be aware of that possibility.

Really enjoyed the stay and oerfevt location for Beatles experiences and Mathew Street. Right beside shopping area abd plenty of bars and restaurants on the doorstep too.

Good hotel with friendly staff but our room was on the corner of the Main Street and a street with lots of bars that played loud music until 3/4am in the morning so it put a dampener on our experience

For three nights we had no sleep due to the loud music from the famous Cavern Club until past 2 AM. No one should be given rooms on the side of the hotel. Stayed in rooms 204 and 208.

An excellent hotel in a perfect location for Beatles fans like myself. The Cavern club, literally around the corner ! The staff are friendly and helpful at all times. Worth stopping for the breakfasts alone ! Highly recommended.

Great location for everything but does get a litle loud outside on weekend

Nice hotel, centrally located with friendly staff, good bar and clean and spacious room, one downside was our room faced onto Mathew Street so it was very loud!

The location near most attractions and restaurants is great. Breakfasts can be a little hectic, but food is good and the staff are very helpful.

Great stay! We visit Liverpool often but this is the 1st time weve stayed overnight. The hotel is a great base in the centre of the city. Our room was very comfortable, the staff were all very helpful and friendly, and the breakfast was lovely. We will be back ☺️

We thought the food at the restaurant was great! And of course, all the music to go with it and pictures. We were very pleased.

Great hotel and really friendly staff. Our room was really spacious and nicely decorated. Breakfast was decent, good spread although they do seem to run out hot buffet items quickly so better replenishing would be greatly appreciated. The Beatles theme seems to run throughout the hotel and it’s lovely to see! I would say they would benefit from a live band but there is live music on the road just adjacent to the hotel in lots of bars so don’t think this was necessary. Location is perfect. We would definitely stay here again. Excellent value for money

Breakfast was absolutly terrible , couldnt even get hot drinks using flasks with water which was luke warm and filter coffee in flask also luke warm , breakfast cold worst breakfast iv had anywere I only eat fruit and yogurt at £13 I complained to reception got nowere just told to E mail food manager which I did and got no reply disgusting

Great property right next to Cavern club, bars with live singers and6 if you are interested sports on tv in most bars. Check in easy and staff great. Breakfast however was chaos, not enough staff, poor Chef trying to get enough food out for fully booked hotel, and trying to cook special requests. Few staff and no enthusiasm to clear tables. When they finally did, a huge trolley came in and they were stacking dirty plates on there. Not the look for a 4 star hotel. We would have been mad if we had paid for breakfast. It was very poor, not the chefs fault. Coffee machines not working. Nightmare. This was the only thing that let this place down. Otherwise it was great.

Great location, overall though facilities were lacking. Breakfast was sub-optimal, the hotel bar was poor, when it could have been a great sanctuary to unwind after the chaos of the Cavern Quarter.

Great location for shops, bars and restaurants. Hotel bar also good with happy hour (actaully 3 hours) on cocktails, a lager, and shots. Good atmosphere in bar. Comfy bed and pillows in room. Good size tv. Bathroom clean and all amenities.
