This hotel was perfectly located just walking distance from York city center. We very much appreciated the very friendly staff, spacious room snd convenient parking. The hotel room was clean, spacious and the bed was large and very comfortable. Breakfast was just fine.

We stayed on the top floor and had a beautiful time. Perfectly located for walking into the city centre and it had all the amenities you would want. The staff were lovely, especially Gemma who was on the night shift and made us feel so welcome and at home.

The hotel was ok, not bad, not good. The room was clean, but we were on the top floor and ceiling was too low for my husband. We had some problems with the showers - nothing major, but the pressure was low and there was a strange smell. The main disappointment was inflexibility of the staff for parking. This is something that was not communicated to us at the time of the booking - your parking is available overnight and only till 1 pm on the next day. We asked to extend the parking till 2-2:30pm but we were told that it was not possible as the hotel was fully booked. At 1pm the car park was 2/3rd full which was not a surprise considering the check in time was 3pm. I would love to support family-owned businesses, but I see hotel chains offering more flexibility to the customers than family-owned businesses. I was really hoping it would be other way around.
