Convenient and within easy walking distance of just about every attraction in Hannibal. - lots of restaurants to choose from. Easy parking. The hotel is rather unique in that the pool and hot tub is open and located adjacent to the lobby. Very convenient, but the chlorine odour can be strong at times.

While clean, the property did show its age. The unique feature was the swimming in the LOBBY. I asked the front desk clerk about it. Apparently it’s a hold over from when it was built in the early 1980’s. After that, laws were passed requiring the pools behind walls. As cool as it was to see a swimming pool in the lobby, it does affect your stay. The whole hotel smells like chlorine and is warm and humid. In your room, you can alter the temp, but you hear the echos from the people playing in the pool. They have strict pool hours to limit the noise, however. Overall, it was fine…clean, comfortable beds, etc. Breakfast was typical of this style of hotel. So you be the judge of that.

It was odd that the outdoor pool was not at the main building, but it was very nice and kept well. Some staff are very strict in the quiet time rules, even the lounge area.

Staff was great! Pool and breakfast good. Room could’ve been cleaner. The tile portion of floor was filthy. Tub had mold. And I know they don’t wash the comforter and blanket each time but they were beyond gross. Otherwise enjoyed the place

Staff was pleasant. Room was tidy. Our light in the bathroom was out and our toilet wasn’t bolted down but it all was perfectly fine. They really are trying to keep up with everything and we had a great night sleep

This place has real potential, great location, and nice employees. But they need to have a serious talk with maintenance AND housecleaning. We arrived late, and realized the light switch at the door did not turn on a light, so we entered in the dark and found the one lamp/bulb out of 4 that worked; the switches on the lamp appeared to be beaten off, so I told the nice young lady working, because I didn't want to be accused of doing the damage. Told her we were fine with one light, because it was late and we were tired. I noticed it appeared that towel racks, lamp shades and a few other places were extremely dusty like they had not been touched in a long, long time. My husband wanted a shower, and realized the shower head didn't work and I planned to take one in the am, so that was another trip to the desk. She moved us to another room; most of the lights and the shower worked (we checked before unpacking this time); but the towel racks & lamp shades still excessively dusty and dirty. None of these are hard things to fix; hopefully they will take attention to these simple matters very quickly!!

My husband and I went for the weekend. Check in was great. Fast. Room was clean. Beds a little uncomfortable but we made it. We were on the 3rd flood so when we walked out, we could see the river. Breakfast was good. Eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy along with cereal etc. they have an indoor pool. We didn’t use it but it was very busy with families. Will definitely stay here again.

The room was comfortable and breakfast was good. The staff were helpful. However, the room had no external windows and therefore very dark. The property has an indoor pool and the rooms open towards the pool. This makes the chlorine odor/fumes very strong inside the hotel room.

Good location and walking distance to shops and the river. Our room was very hot and lowering thermostat didn't help. We had to adjust the fan and vent to get cooled down. The pool is in the center of the rooms and the odor of chlorine was strong and even penetrated our clothing.

I appreciated the cleanliness and size of the room, the view of the river and the helpful staff. Breakfast was ok, i liked the biscuits and gravy. The sausage was too salty for me. The train whistle was a surprise. The curtains did not close sufficiently to keep out all the light. The TV channels/guide were confusing-a list of channels with their numbers would have been helpful. Thanks!

Front desk lady wonderful. Windows dirty which is frustrating when paying a premium for Mississippi River view. Rooms at back of hotel only look into the hotel. Could be disappointing for people who travel a long way to see the Mississippi and end up staring at a grey wall. Expedia should specify on site rooms that have no outside window

The property is clean and seems well located if you are wanting to check out downtown Hannibal. Even though we had a first floor room next to the pool it was super quiet. Pool area looked nice but we didn’t use it. The hotel needs some updating though, feels like a hotel I would have stayed at on a road trip as a kid in the 1980’s. Rooms are smaller, parking tight, room kept losing TV and wifi signal. Almost $150/night seems rather high for this hotel.

I’ve stayed here a few times. It’s always been fine. But I don’t think I’ll ever stay again. The last few times, the internet has been incredibly bad. Makes it impossible to work, or stream anything.

Absolutely the most appalling, belligerent and rude night clerk I’ve encountered anywhere in the world. My decade long run at this property just concluded. There are now great options in Hannibal. Take them.

Staff was friendly and courteous, the room was exceptional and the location made my vacation activities a convenient walking distance ( 2 to 3 blocks). My stay was thoroughly enjoyable and I recommend this hotel to anyone.

I had a 5 star review ready for our stay until...on the 2nd day of our 3 day stay, our room card wouldn't let us into the building. We walked around to the front and I asked the lady working if our card had been deactivated? She raises her voice and says they do not deactivate cards. Well, ok...why is my card deactivated? She proceeds to blame it on the lady who checked us in and only said we were staying 2 nights instead of 3 or it could have been their new system. I wasn't looking for lip and excuses in a very loud voice. I was looking for an apology for the inconvenience of shutting our cards off early. I was very taken aback by this ladies tone with me. I didn't do anything wrong. You all did. Own it!!!

I was taken ill while there and Mary and Grace at the desk could not have been more helpful in getting me linked up with medical care. Matt was wonderful as he took me to the pharmacy to pick up prescriptions. They were just wonderful.

What can we say! We chose this hotel because of the review responses. The way they invite people not to return over miniscule inconveniences that lead to bad reviews made my day! Our experience was unique. Last minute weekend away and we met Tony! He was an absolute GEM!!!! He met us with hilarity and humor and let us check in a little early since we were exhausted from the drive. Our room wasn’t a river view, (which was not a big deal) actually made sleeping amazing. He gave us a map, gave us all the highlights as to live music for the evening and all the best restaurants. He helped us with tourist attractions of course. Especially since it was off season. We will be back! Mainly because of his charm, wit and above all kindness.

Went to check in and was told that I had canceled the reservation, which I hadn’t. In fact I had already paid in advance. The desk clerk told me to get out of the line and contact Expedia. So I did. Expedia also showed that the reservation had not been canceled. The unhelpful man at the front desk told us we would have to repay so we did because we needed a place to stay. Still waiting for refund since we ended up having to pay twice for a room. And to top it off best western charged us more money for a downgrade since they were out of King rooms (which is what we had already paid for!) the whole experience was so frustrating and the man at the front desk couldn’t have been less helpful.

The property was conveniently located and clean. The main issue we had was the breakfast. It was from 6:30-9:30. We arrived down there about 7:30. We found only a partial piece of sausage, no bread for toast, out of apple juice, the only fruit being 2 apples and some mixed fruit cups. The attendant came in once - stirred the gravy and added some sausage. Did not ever appear again. We’ve been to numerous hotels that provide breakfast and this was the weakest.

The room was clean. The bathroom was fine. The shower head was somewhat rusty and didn't operate all that efficiently. Throw-away shampoo and soap is a bit out-of-date compared to other hotel chains. The room temperature was very good. The breakfast offering was not great. The coffee was in much need of improvement.

The staff at the front desk were amazing!! So friendly, helpful and overall awesome! The building is old, but they are trying to update. The breakfast needs to be revamped, it was awful! The pool was great and the room was clean, just old.
