Hotel is obviously past its prime. Lift was absent due to being under replacement. Rats running around outside. Room was ok. Telly was stuck with unremovable subtitles. Staff were nice an friendly, breakfast was good.

Plenty of parking at the hotel that was free. Breakfast was plentiful and room was large. Beds were comfortable. Only thing - our room was next to the main road which was noisy during the night with cars racing up and down.

My expectations were high, I was disappointed. Reception staff were varied in relatability. All helpful but there’s a clear hierarchy, amongst members. I had an issue with a shower light not working, three times I enquired. To be told needs a new part and I could change rooms. The first night not offered that as there was no space. I wasn’t recognised as an IHG MEMBER by initial team member. So I missed out on their goody bag offering. My request for room on lower level and close to lift not honoured although I was told it was. Room was dowdy, especially in the bathroom. Excellent mobility shower. Large and a seat. Clean towels daily. (4 night stay) FREE PARKING, is the bonus here. INCLUSIVE BREAKFAST, but make sure you take a bag to pack. Food can go quickly. No change up each day but lots offered. Replenishing is laboured.

Hadn't realised that they don't have restaurant open on Sunday night. Open Monday to Saturday. Luckily we'd had a Sunday lunch. Bar was pretty busy so I'm surprised they didn't sell snacks, sandwiches, cakes etc.

Doesn t seem like there is any one on the reception desk especially in a morning Staff not really attentive to customers but rather very chatty to each other bar was empty only us in there Told food had finished till I pointed out that the sign on the bar said pizza and chips served till 2am Outside room 001 carpet is disgusting and needs replacing it s not a very goodfirst impression when you arrive to a red carpet which is stained BLACK Breakfast area where food is should be extended it s all squashed in with to many people trying to get food Coffee from the machine is not nice, a better quality please On the whole it was an ok stay for one night Positives are free wifi parking and cooked breakfast Shower pressure and water really hot , but a larger shower head would be better i gmorning

Due to roadworks the hotel was a little difficult to get to, though this was not something the hotel could do anything about. The hotel sign is set back from the road and partially obscured by bushes. It can only be spotted at the last minute. However, once in the hotel the staff were welcoming and helpful. The rooms and public areas are clea and tidy and there is a handy bar and restaurant available.

The room was dirty and the bed broken. Waited a hour for another room which was dirtier, bathroom was filthy. Breakfast wasn’t cooked. Wouldn’t cook it more for me. Only had a drink at breakfast and that was taken away half way through. Overall shocking hotel unapproachable staff.

Room was cold, turned AC temp up for the hearing but wasn’t working. Bedding had hair particles all over bed sheet, there was hair on the toilet seat and around the toilet basin. The toilet seat was broken ao it kept moving from side to side

Dirty, stairwell had a poop stained tissue dumped when we were there Friday and was still there when we left Sunday. Rats everywhere. There was blood on the curtains. Staff, other then one blonde lady were very lazy, loads of free tables available for breakfast but all covered in plates, 2 girls sat on reception chatting instead of clearing while the other woman did everything. Nothing to eat in evening but nothing on website to say that, website says restaurant and bar food available. Wall paper peeling in room and hooks on wall fell off when coat was put on. Avoid at all costs. Never had a bad HI until now and won't use again.

Checked in by very helpful and polite staff. The room was much bigger than I thought; it was spotlessly clean and bed was really comfortable. Hotel was by busy road, but there was no sound of traffic. The breakfast offered a really nice selection of cooked and vestals with choice of nondairy milks. I have stayed at a regular Holiday Inn and would say this Holiday Inn Express room was a lot bigger and more comfortable. I would most definitely recommend as a very relaxing and comfortable stay.

Cleanliness is marked down due to tables at breakfast where our crockery stuck to the table as it was so sticky. Bedrooms themselves were nice and clean. Despite the hotel being right next to a busy road the room was nice and quiet and road noise did not disturb due to good windows. Manager and staff were lovely and welcoming.

The location of the property is great, breakfast is included which is great and there is a good variety of food, rooms are big and clean. However 2 of the 3 rooms that we booked had broken air conditioning and the other room didn't have USB pots by the bedside. We are yet to receive compensation for the air con that we paid for, but didn't receive. This would put me off going to this hotel again.

We particularly chose this property because it had air conditioning and for it's location and because it is a Holiday Inn hotel. We booked 3 rooms for a family event. At check in the staff got confused because we all had the same surname and it took some time to work out who was already here and we had to confirm the book reference to prove that 3 rooms had been booked. This was sorted though and rooms were found for us. However, despite being advertised as having air conditioning it was only in 1 room that it was working! When we enquired about this we were told that the engineer had been called a few weeks ago, but they were still waiting for them to arrive! They couldn't move us to other rooms because they were already over booked!! We have complained to the company and are hoping for compensation as we were misold rooms. The rooms are clean, nice and large and the beds comfortable. There are very few plugs and there should be USB points by the bedside, but these were missing in one on the rooms and we were told that head office only provide a limited number each week, not enough for a whole hotel! Some of the seats in the rooms are a bit grubby and desk chairs appear to be missing from some rooms. We've not had breakfast yet, so I hope that's great. At least there's air conditioning in the dining area! It just leaves me with lots of questions about the company and doubt as to whether we will stay in this hotel again.

Unfortunately I was on the 3rd floor overlooking the car park which backs onto a dual carriageway and it was noisy, ambient background of almost 40db All it needs is secondary glazing fitted to all road facing g rooms for much quieter results and happies customers

The Reception staff on duty on Friday 24th Oct were absolutely fantastic, especially Anastasia and her sister. They were so polite, helpful and attentive. Went above and beyond duties. Bedroom and hotel very clean. Downside, our room was to the front of the building and next to a main road, which was very noisy even during the night. It sounded like the window was open, which it wasnt. Whether it was poorly sealed but the noise disturbance was not good. Didnt get much sleep. Again, the friendly face of Anastasia and her sister made up for it and they apologised for me not getting much sleep. The breakfast was good. We normally do not partake as often find the food cold but Anastasia sister and other colleagues kept topping up with fresh, hot food

Great hotel all round. Staff and food both excellent, especially the breakfast. Superb and the staff constantly topping up with freshly cooked items, fresh baked croissants and wonderful choice of cereals and toppings. Our room was spotless and cleaned ready for our second night stay. You could smell the freshness as you walked to your room. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff were friendly and polite, working hard to make pur short stay enjoyable. The price for our room plus free breakfast each morning was very reasonable and free parking too. Well done to the hotel for everything

The staff were helpful but the room was not clean. The underside of the rails and sink had stuff on them. They also didn't offer any suggestion or tempary lighting when the area had a power cut. I am handicapped and was on the first floor. During checkout the elevator did not work. I had to use the stairs. No help was offered.

I arrived after a long work day and of travelling. I booked a room and paid in advance and when I arrived I was told there was no rooms available. I was confused as to what I paid for if there was no room. The manager was very rude and acted like I was an inconvenience. Then gave me a room and told me it’s over there go find it. And when I complained the next day a worker told me I was lying as the person was not there at the time I said even though I had evidence. I was disgusted with my experience.

Resold my room, saying they tried to contact me (no missed call or emails) but because I didn’t check in they resold my room. Arrived late, hungry and tired, to be told this and no rooms left, so nowhere to sleep. Only offer partial refund. Absolutely appalling!

We stayed here for an overnight stopover as we had visited attractions in the Birmingham area whilst en-route from the south coast of England to Lancashire and due to its location, close to the M6. My wife is in a wheelchair and only has one leg so we booked an accessible room. However, it could only be described as partially adapted as there was no walk-in shower only a bath with shower over, which she could not use. In the bathroom, there was a lot of grout missing from the floor tiles, which needs sorting out. Overall, the room was very large with plenty of space for manoeuvring the wheelchair and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was OK, not the best quality, but it was included in the room price so all in all very good value.

Rooms, especially the bathrooms could do with an update. Breakfast was OK the second morning, the first morning most of the options were empty and were not refilled in the time we were there. Staff was indifferent when informed.

Good for one night stay , clean and tidy , room good and bed comfy , could do with more teabags only 2 on tray and a pkt of 3 cheap biscuits between two of us Breakfast offered is plenty to start the day except we had to wait 20mins for items to be replaced , no eggs , no beans , food was cold , would have been so much better if all food trays were full and hot , asked staff and were quite nonchalant about it telling me " it's being cooked "
