The hotel was so outdated. Nothing like the picture on hotel.com The pool was dirty and gross and there was no hot tub as advertised The room smelled like weed and it took three hours for someone to come fix a sink issue we were having. The hotel photos show a hot tub and there was not a hot tub. When I asked the receptionist she said they filled it in a few years ago. Then they need to update their photos! I booked this place believing there would be a hot tub to use during our stay for a dance competition. The pool door was also broken and impossible to open. I don’t know how others got in but they had to let me in. The deadbolt on our room door was broken which felt unsafe. We had trouble getting the key to unlock our door every single time we needed back into our room. The lock needs to be replaced. It was incredibly frustrating. I would not stay here again.

False advertising. It is obvious that the photos listed on the hotel website were taken decades ago. For example: the pool photo shows an aesthetically pleasing pool and hot tub. The reality is that the pool is in a dingy/low-lit area, and the hot tub is CEMENTED OVER. Rust on all the near-ground doors, and the patio furniture is rusting and/or wood rotting. The room was average. The fold out bed was extremely uncomfortable, not level and had a painfully thin mattress. Service was below average. Key cards would de-magnetize regularly. I got stuck at the front desk at 5 o'clock in the morning because the front desk attendant was absent for about 10 minutes. Stay elsewhere.

This hotel needs a remodel desperately. Everything in the room was super worn and dated. There isn't enough parking, my husband had to park outside the hotel parking lot the 2nd night because there were no spaces left (this wasn't a gameday weekend).

Filthy bedding, hair and stains. The shower was clogged as was the sink. Sticky surfaces and the bed’s mattress had a huge dent in the middle that made you sink into it, not in the good way.

This was the worst experience I've had in a hotel in a long time. The room was not just out of date, but it was not clean. The number of stains on the carpet and bed was disgusting. Unfortunately, we were unable to find another room available in the area, and it was after midnight when we checked in, so we were limited in other choices, but if I could have found another room elsewhere, I would have moved! Every towel was stained or had hair on it. When I checked the bed for bed bugs, I was shocked to find the largest bloody-looking stain under the mattress. How that stain could have happened is beyond me. I literally went to the local Target the next day to buy Lysol wipes and shower shoes (flip flops). We had to wait a while to check in and the poor manager was dealing with a fight between employees because they were drunk? We also had to wiggle the card key vigorously for many minutes in order to open the door. Overall, will not go back!

The parking lot was being repaved, and we had to find parking elsewhere. They should have told us in advance. The rooms were never cleaned after 3 days. The front desk staff seemed annoyed. The carpets in the lobby had candy for 3 days all over them. The place needs help. Breakfast wasn't anything special, nothing healthy , no options.

The hotel room was dirty. There was mold in the showers, the carpets were stained, there was still some trash left on the floor from the previous guests. The pool has rust stains in the pool and the pool equipment room door was rusted through. There was rust on the ceiling. For breakfast they had toast, but no butter or jelly, just plain toast. We were very underwhelmed with the cleanliness of this place and I will never stay here again.

If I could attach pictures, I would. There were stains on the carpet, hairs in both beds, and food on the floor. Filthy. We checked out and didn't even stay the second night.

room door did not shut properly, televisions did not work correctly, they were too dim and flickered from normal brightness when turned on to very dim. TV settings were set to max brightness. outdated carpet and carpet humps (carpet needs to be streached again. also a fall hazard.

Overall our stay was fine but this hotel needs some work. I wouldn’t recommend staying here til they finish updating it. The certificate in the elevator said it hadn’t been inspected since 2020. We had no issues with it but that doesn’t make you feel safe. Our bathroom sink leaked onto the shelves below it and you could tell it had been happening for some time because the wood was damaged. We put a towel there to soak up the water. Breakfast was fine - hardly anyone there. The worst part was the cockroaches. We found 3 and I’m thinking there were more. We only stayed one night. I told the front desk about the sink and the bugs at checkout.

The room and hotel were adequate for my needs but I would describe the condition as well worn. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable but since housekeeping was only being done every 3rd day the cleanliness of the room suffered. A particular annoyance was that room door lock took multiple tries to unlock, and then in the morning it wouldn't latch. I tried to report this but no one was at the front desk and I had leave to make my appointment.

The gentleman who checked us in was super friendly and very quick and there was a hot complimentary breakfast that was very good. We like the pool and it was quiet and there were cookies and coffee in the lobby too which was nice. The lady that checked us out was super fast and friendly as well. Definitely a hotel worth staying.

The front desk staff unfriendly no customer service skills at all wasn’t sure if prejudice was a part this” had to leave room each night and go to front desk for a roll of toilet tissue for bathroom, and there was no lining on sofa bed “ no greeting from staff when leaving or entering the building” could not assist me with any questions TERRIBLE FRONT DESK!!!!!!!

Phone was broken, no extra blankets, heater didn’t work properly, only 1 coffee pod in the room. I called on my cell phone to report issues and that we needed to cancel our last day and the front desk, lady working morning shift on 12/14/24, was rude and kept speaking over me so, I had to just hang up. I have never experienced such a rude person in the hospitality business in my life. I will never go back, and I would never recommend this place to anyone.

When we checked in we found the only nice employee, outside of her most seemed like you were bugging them. We had a mess up with our reservation along with others, sounds like they need a system upgrade. The room was fair at best. Needs tlc bad. Mattress so thin and hard, not sure how you count their pillows as pillows, loose toilet seat. Several regular maintenance issues that appear to be ignored. Could hear traffic all night and the people above rearranging furniture. The breakfast is not good unless you want cereal. I have stayed at other country inns and this is a slap in their faces. The kitchen/cleaning ladies sitting in the breakfast area talking loudly across the room. They are not nice, rude and yelling in Spanish. The location is not good, there was a broken window on the hotel. Limited walking options for dining. Worst yet is that they are allowed to upcharge so bad for a game. Do your self a favor and go on down the road.

Convenient to St. Mary’s where a family member was. Lots of dining/groceries/shopping close by. Odd setup with all the doorways facing into the inside. Makes it noisy with the noise funneling upward. Lots of homeless in the area and apparently with no card access from the outside they use the stairwell as a restroom. STRONG urine smell! Staff was great when I asked at 0400 in the morning to move because next door was constantly coming and going very noisy from 0230 on.

This property was very clean. It was close to stores and restaurants. It is only about 6 miles from the college. The only thing, but not a major issue, the breakfast eggs and oatmeal wasnt cooked well. The beds were comfortable. I did get an accesible room due to knee issues. I could barely lift my knee to get in the shower. It should be a walk in if "accessible" room. I would definitely stay again.

Didn't look like much from the outside, but was surprised by the spacious interior. The room was like a suite (also unexpected, but maybe I didn't read the description online). Super firm bed and good hot shower. The free breakfast options were as dismal as they always are: I had a hardened puck of alleged sausage and a piece of bread and left in search of something better to start the day. Staff was super friendly and I'm sorry I didn't take time to check out the pool. Was content with the last-minute booking, and location was ideal.

Very disappointed with the condition of the property and noise in our room. We could clearly hear the phone conversation of the occupant in the room next door through the connecting door. The noise from the room above was disruptive to our sleep as we could hear walking and movement into the early morning hours. The scrambled eggs on the breakfast buffet were disgusting. I took one bite and didn’t swallow it. We were so dissatisfied that we cancelled our stay there a week later when we were returning home and made arrangements at another Athens hotel. We were shocked that Choice Hotels would allow this facility to represent their brand.
