Motel 6-Palm Springs, CA - Downtown

Affordable place to stay while in Palm Springs. Rooms are decent and always available. Pool was dirty this time and they close the ice machine at 10pm. They reopen it at 7am now. It’s very inconvenient since there is nowhere else around the hotel to purchase ice. It might be a security issue, there are always odd people staying at this location. Again it’s affordable for a reason don’t expect anything special. If you just need a room for the day stay here, otherwise you have plenty of other options.

Location is great, elevator was broken entire stay. Hot tub water was not warm. Easy walk to all of downtown PS.

What I didn't like was that I was charged $20 a day to park my car even though there was nothing online about parking fees or anything said about it when reservations were made. There was just a sign on the registration dessk statting there was now a parking fee. Very underhanded way of doing business. Almost like a bait and switch practice.

The service I received was not indicative of the typical service you expect to receive at a Motel 6. I walked into the lobby a little early. I believe it was before check in time. There was a gentleman speaking with the front desk clerk, and it was taking a little bit of time. A lady came from behind and apologized for me having to wait. She opened up the other computer to check me in. She told me that the room that has been assigned to me may not be ready and that she would be happy to check the room or move me to another room. She checked the room and told me it would be a few minutes because they were finishing up the bathroom. She was apologetic and so sweet. I could not believe the service she was providing and I was the one that was there checking in early. I later found out that this was the manager and her name was Alma. She defined Customer Service. I could not have asked for a better welcome to the hotel. My only comment would be to have a microwave available in the room with the vending machines and ice machine. I needed something reheated and there was no microwave at all on the property for me to use. Again kudos to Alma for making me have a very very positive experience at this Motel session.

It's in a good location, not far to walk to downtown street market and restaurants. The staff are excellent, very courteous and helpful... excellent customer service! The rooms are very basic but clean and has the essentials in a good location. Very good value... would recommend it if only staying for a couple of nights. The only negative was paying for parking...don't think paying guests should pay extra for parking.

The first Motel 6 ever where you had to pay for parking. Should have been included in the price.

They charged $5.75 extra to park your car, while is ridiculous, never saw that before. Hot tub was excellent but we got locked inside and gate had no way to get back out. Had to yell until someone walked by to let us out. No coffee pot, no microwave. No mini fridge, no breakfast, only has front desk coffee in morning. A guy with huge wire cutters in parking lot at night, people hanging out in the parking lot make it a bit uncomfortable.

Pool warm and jacuzzi was very nice. Pool is very big and Jacuzzi.

When checking in the person at the front desk was very helpful but the room was just dirty and the AC unit didn't work very well. I tried calling the front desk but the phone didn't work. The jazucci was green and the pool was full of leafs from the trees.

Exceeded expectations: budget hotel, clean (for the most part - could see where a deeper cleaning is in order, but ok). I'm sure cleaning staff do a good job given their constraints. Hotel is a good option if you want a standard cheap hotel, i.e. hotel is not the destination. Would stay here again for a short, budget stay.

The rooms are old and sheets had marks on them. I also got bug bites not sure if it was bed bugs or not. My wash rag had dark stains on it. I will never come back to this hotel

The room was dirty, sticky stuff all over the table and floor, mold around the heat/AC vent.

Convenient location. Walking distance from the Arenas. There were bugs and cockroaches on the floor, in the sink and there might be bed bugs because I noticed a swollen bug bite lookalike on my back. There was water leaking from the ceiling in the morning of checking out. I thought I had booked a room with a microwave. I even called to confirm before arriving and they told me their rooms had microwaves. They charged me extra money to have a microwave in my room.

This was the worst motel I have ever stayed at. Big regret not reading the reviews! This is a 3 story motel and the elevator was broken and it looked like it has been broken for a very long time. This place had homeless people hanging out in the parking lot and at least 5 or more people making drug deals and they charge you $5.00 to park, so are these homeless and drug peeps paying the motel so they can hang out. The room was filthy. There was a big clump of hair hanging from the curtain rod, in plain site and hair inside the shower. The headboards had crumbs around them and the floors were filthy with food crumbs, hair and trash. The door was messed up and didn’t close all the way so you could hear everything going on outside. No sleep for us that night. I will make sure nobody I know ever stays here. Oh and whomever owns this place or manager that reads this, do not send a scripted response like I read in every response you made to people who have already complained. I took a few pics but wish I had taken more so no one else gets sucked in to this dive.

Conveniently close to everything! Staff was friendly as well. Room looked a bit run down. The bed was dented/bent in. The floor had stuff stuck on it, possibly not well cleaned in the past and now too late to easily clean off.

I did not like that the room smelled like smoke despite being a non-smoking room. The shower was not clean. The bathroom area was not clean, having remnants from the last tenant. Towels had stains and blankets had cigarette burns.

We enjoyed the room but it was noisy! Upstairs, outside. And someone knocked on our door at midnight… seriously?! The bed was comfortable but wish it was a queen size bed and not just a double.

Very basic, not a good mattress and the air conditioner and room smelled musty. Couldn't get out of there fast enough in the morning.

Check in was unnecessarily difficult. Picture ID with name wasn't good enough. After going back to car to get Driver's License then they wanted ID for passenger as well. The room had two beds but there was only inches between the beds and walls. Seriously NOT as advertised. And the mattress was like a futon with rocks. No amenities in room at all, not even a box of Kleenex. The TV remote was missing the back holding the batteries in. Banging from somewhere throughout the night. We lived through it and in fairness it did the basics barely. Having said that, it was close to downtown which we wanted.

The room was as any Motel 6. Clean, reasonably comfortable. But the internet was so bad it might as well have been non-existent. They also randomly charge $5. A day for parking, and issue a card to put in your window, but no other car in the parking lot had the card but mine. I asked around and no one else had heard of a charge for parking. Very frustrating experience and I don’t think I will return. There’s a better Motel 6 down the street if you’re traveling with pets.

Room was clean, though spartan, and air con was good. Amenities close to none — no coffee maker, no iron, no microwave. No electronics charging ports. Management wanted me to surrender my ID to borrow an iron.

Pros - outdoor pool and free AM coffee in the lobby. Cons - bare bones rooms and lots of crackheads nearby and on property.

Basic Motel 6 but bathroom was less than desirable. AC is loud, place smells damp, and extremely loud - you could hear footsteps of people above. See daylight around door.

The beds were not as soft as we would prefer and a mini fridge would be nice since the hotel is in the desert, but we had a good stay and the room was clean.

Hotel is dated. Room wasn't clean when I checked in and told front desk and they didn't seem to care. I requested room cleaning on the 4th night 3 times and it was never done.

Stayed for Coachella, front desk was a sweet pie and we even bonded over horsegiirl;) will be back next year for sure!!

Staff was great, they had a room available for early check in. Unfortunately the toilet wasn't flushing properly and overflowed, so I reported to the front desk but maintenance didn't arrive for over 5 hours. So I decided to go back down to the office again, the housecleaner was a few units down and I asked if she could help. She was extremely accommodating and very helpful! Fixed the situation right away. So while the facility wasn't the greatest, the staff was excellent. Thank you for your help.

Rude - staff, not interested in being helpful. Everyone has bad days but their attitudes seemed routine.

Service from the service desk and was very rude and disrespectful gave me the wrong room that I had to reserved argued with me about it ultimately gave me the room that I did both originally after approving my point with that itinerary from hotel.com

The worse experience in hospitality to say the least. I waited 15 minutes to get any sort of help. I wouldn’t even call it help because the rude interaction I had with Marissa a child was the worst. Between having her roll her eyes at me, to never smiling or to even saying a “good afternoon”. I’ve worked in hospitality for over five years and the level of customer service at the Downtown Motel six very poor. I asked for a non smoking and was given a smoking room. Without a smoke detector. The roof was caving due to accumulation of water from the AC. There was a puddle of water from the AC’s condensation. I had to leave because I felt unsafe. There was drug activity throughout the hotel. An individual tried to get into my room. I tried to report it but again I was treated poorly by staff.

Very good accommodation for the price. Nicely centrally located. It’s a good idea to be aware of your surroundings here though.

There was only one clerk at the desk to check people in, with a line going out the door. Surprise added fee of $5 per night for parking. Neighborhood is EXTREMELY sketchy, with homeless people and shopping carts everywhere. Hotel should have an armed security guard.

For travelers who want a very simple, clean room within walking distance to "downtown" Palm Springs for a very modest price, this Motel 6 is perfect. Room prices fluctuate wildly depending on the season and whether there are events bringing visitors to town. It is my "go to" place when I'm traveling solo and just want a quiet room to spend the night.

I stay in this hotel many times because it is closer to the downtown Palm Springs .However because of the homeless problem the location has become very dangerous and felty . The homeles come to the outside of the hotel lobby smoking and leaving their garbage around so sad about this . They put the guest and employees of the hotel in a lot danger

Good location for downtown. Good bed, pillows, shower. Room clean on arrival. No housekeeping during stay. Listing showed continental breakfast but only coffee offered in office 6-10. No coffee pot in room. Our room next to pool so very noisy a lot of times.

This Motel 6 does the job. Its location is good; the nearby area has some eateries. My room was fairly clean and satisfactory. The staff was welcoming.
