Duke Armeneasca Suites by Olala!

When me and my friend arrived and we checked-in we got the same room nr, as of a double booking even if we ordered our rooms separately. So we were in total shock and we had to stressfully and already tired from our trip, contact and describe the situation. We did not know if this hotel really could be trusted at all and we actually thought about maybe book another hotel (never felt this way before). After a time we received separate rooms and we went to have some dinner after we both checked-in. Later when we head back to hotel, we then realized that we once again got same room nr so later I contacted the host and told about the situation. The host refused to acknowledge my problem first that I had been given a separate room and I was so much in stress since I had stored my clothes and valuables in my room before going out for dinner. Only after multiple hours of conversation (the time was 3-4 in the morning next day) I called them and then I could get my stuff back and was given another room. But the amount of stress we had to go through ever since then was at a crazy level. We both did still check our room status update every day to see our rooms would not be double booked again and strangers coming in. Also towels were never changed once. Having to endure all this, the host was still not willing to show good will to truly compensate for what we had to go through. I encourage to stay away from this hotel at any price and choose a hotel with On-Site reception!

There is nobody at the reception desk. The online application didn't work. I had to call the help line 5 times until somebody answered (the first four times the message said that there are no agents available). The code for the room didn't work at the door in the loby; so I had to call again several time and they gave me the generic code; that is a safety issue. Tere is no phone in the room; so guests can't call for help if needed and since the front desk door is loked the police can not enter the hotel in case of emergency. They give clean towels only after five days and there is nowere shown that; so, I had to use the towels I left on the floor. The front sliding door was broken and twice during my 10 days stay. Despite the fact that the hotel is in Romania, the receptionist who answered the phone doesn't speak Romanian, only english and spanish. This was the worst hospitability exparience I had in sixty years.

A good place to stay if you require just a room to sleep in with a private toilet. Very central location close to Romania’s famous old town. Nothing sophisticated… No special amenities or services. The staff will provide you with instructions to access the hotel and your room digitally, since the front desk does not operate 24/7. If you’re looking for a place to sleep and take a shower and spend your entire day exploring the country, this hotel would make a good and an affordable choice.
