Microtel Inn & Suites Columbus North

First of all I found out when checking in that the elevator did not work. Then I needed to stay over an extra night so I booked another night. I went to the front desk to let them know and they told me that everything was fine with me staying over. The next morning the front desk started calling me to say that I had booked the wrong type room for my stay over and that I had to pack up all of my things and get out of the room by 11:00 and then I had to wait 4 hours to check into my new room. I offered to pay any difference in price to keep my room but they said since I paid thru a 3rd party that I would have to go thru the 3rd party. My third party called and offered to pay the difference in price and they were told that it was not an option. So I had to hurredly get out of the room. I left and went to another hotel. I have never had a problem like that at any other hotel. I do not feel like this hotel was very hospitable or accomodating to my needs.

ALL the staff were very friendly, accommodating and welcoming. We brought our pet, Abbey a dog, and the staff loved on her every time they saw her. Abbey loved her stay too and always wanted to go to the front desk since she treats and extra attention. The room was clean and welcoming.

The staff was very nice, but due to the elevator issue, very distracted. Slow..took at least a half hour to get checked in. I'm 82 and it was hard climbing stairs. Due to the problems I really think they could have refunded the pet fee. That being said, the rooms were great! Clean and the bed and pillows were wonderful!

Was fine, disappointed there was no iron and board.

Enjoyed my stay, staff was pleasant, building was clean and the bed was quite comfortable. I was disappointed in having to pay an early check-in fee, on top of an incidental fee, also that i had to leave the comfort of my room and go downstairs for the iron and ironing board because there was not a place built in for it inside of the room

It was amazing and the staff were extraordinary. My elderly disabled mother decided to stay at the hotel one day of our trip and she could not get her dog out. She asked the front desk and they took him out and checked on her. Will stay here every time i find myself in Columbus.

Very clean room and friendly staff. Not a very big parking lot so parking can get tight but that’s the only thing even remotely negative.

The hotel is very clean and nicely decorated. LaQuisha provided great customer service. The breakfast could use a few additions and the fitness room was not what I was hoping for, but overall, I still enjoyed my stay and will be staying there again.

Very clean staff was amazing from the ladies that took care of the rooms to the front desk everyone was friendly speaking to you the atmosphere was above and beyond anything like I've ever stayed in. I will be back

The hallway of the hotel, and our room had a very bad smell. The room we were placed in had an ac unit on which all the buttons except for the on/off switch were broken off so we had to guess which ones turned the ac up and down. We never could figure out how to turn off the fan. I asked the desk clerk if we could switch rooms but he said we could not because we had booked with a third-party (Expedia). Overall the room felt not clean. (There was a stan on the seat of the window bench which made us not want to sit there.) I was pretty disappointed.

My room had roaches so I had to be moved in the middle of the night to a new room.

Could hear every last word of the room next to ours as if we were in the same room. Pictures are deceiving the room is very small and we had to kill 3 roaches

The room ,bathroom area has mildew ceiling,,shower curtain needs to be replaced,,needs new caulking around toilets/baseboards...a found a lot of hair in the shower ....good staff...a/c unit smell funny needs to be clean .....

The room that we were in and 103 had roaches and they told us that they didn’t have any rooms to move us to and then I have to wait until Monday to reach out to the manager to see if I can get a money back because all they were offering me was $10 off my bill and 1000 points for Microtel, which I will probably never go to another Microtel again

The place was clean but small. For a room with 2 queen beds you expect to have a little space. Not hear, it's very much by design. The pillows are even half size. Felt cramped with a very tiny bathroom without even a counter to put things out on. The staff was friendly and helpful. Just glad it was just two of us, I could not imagine even a family of four in that room.

I was impressed by the cleanliness of the entire facility. The staff were also excellent and helpful in every way - especially Lisa who I was able to talk with prior to our visit and several times during our visit. Her professionalism and customer service skills were excellent as were Ty's the one time we met with her. I was surprised at the lack of space once inside our room - there was no rack to hold my suitcase, so I used the desk for it and the chair for my tote bag. Fortunately there was a padded "window seat" which provided space for my husband's suitcase, etc. There were only two large "pegs" to hold hanging clothes but it was doable. My suggestions for the bathroom would be: 1) to add an additional hand rail in the shower closer to the middle or back of the tub as it's a bit slick for senior citizens. 2) to add a small "bar" to the side of the basin for a wash cloth and a "peg" next to it (on the wall) for a towel . For the price it was excellent, and again, I was very impressed with the cleanliness and customer service personnel.

We could hear everything from the room beside us. The shower had very bad pressure too. Other than that, the stay was good. The bed was very comfortable.

Although clean, the bed was in need of replacement. The buttons were completely missing from the air handling unit, so it took quite a bit of hit and miss work to adjust the temp and fan. The walls were paper thin (our neighbor had to be removed by authorities in the middle of the night) and we could hear every word said. Finally, the food for breakfast included rubber pre-packaged donuts and essentially instant coffee. All that said, the desk clerk on checkin was incredibly nice and patient dealing with other demanding guests.

Other than it not being cool enough, it was a good stay.

Walls are paper thin and people next door kept slamming their door at 1 am. Then I heard them peeing, then showering, then talking. Had to shove towels under both hall door and connecting room door to muffle the noise. Toilet in my room kept running which added to the xtra noise. Staff was very friendly and room was cheap. But if a good nights sleep is important to you, maybe spend the extra money

The staff was great, the room was ok. The laminate flooring in the entry and the bathroom was lifting terribly. Otherwise, clean and worked for my one night stay

Very modest room. I had a room right next to the front door and reception counter so at times it was noisy. I’ll try to get a room away from that next time.

Room 122 & 124 are connected by an interior door and you can hear the person in the next room talk on the cell phone which kept me up late at night. Suggestion is to remove the door and put a wall there. Everything else was great.

Clean, nice for the price; small room, no closet

Check in was absolutely horrible. We were standing 20 minutes in front of close door , nobody was at the front desk, we called the property 3 times no one answered. Ringing the bell seriously multiple times. Finally young lady showed up , with no explanation or apology! So unprofessional and rude!!!!! Property it self was very clean, breakfast was okay. Only pancakes were hot everything else was cold refrigerated.

Front desk gave another guest key to my room in error and at 11pm tried breaking into my room for 39 minutes. Then the guests were yelling/screaming/ running up and down the hall until 12:30 and 2 nights in a row.

Front desk clerk was super rude and unhelpful. I had already paid for the room, had my credit card that I made reservation but I didn't have my license and they refused to let me stay or refund me.

I was here to watch my son graduate from basic training and I asked for late checkout to attend and return to gather my things instead of bringing it all with us and was told I couldn’t have late check out

My recent stay at Microtel was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly by the front desk staff, who were not only professional but also incredibly accommodating throughout my visit. The General Manager, Herman went above and beyond with his duties as a Manager during our stay and I would stay again, just because of his level of professionalism and how he made us feel special and welcomed as guests. The cleanliness of the hotel exceeded our expectations; the rooms are cute, modern and clean. The amenities provided were top-notch, offering everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The complimentary breakfast was perfect for what we needed and offered a variety of options, more than most complimentary breakfasts. My daughter loved making her pancakes and eating their breakfast sandwiches. The location of the hotel is convenient, with easy access to local attractions and dining options. Despite its central location, the rooms were quiet and provided a peaceful environment for relaxation. And, they are pet friendly!! They have a cute little board with photos of fur-babies that have stayed here in the lobby. So cute! Overall, I would highly recommend Microtel to anyone looking for a fantastic hotel experience. Whether for business or leisure, you can expect excellent service, cleanliness, and amenities that make for a truly memorable stay. I will definitely be returning on my next trip to the area!

Right off the expressway and one exit up from veterans Blvd that has a lot of shopping and dining options. Quiet very clean. Problem on check in with computer system declining my card. I called my bank and verified that no transactions came through. I told the desk clerk there must be a problem with your system. She snapped at me and said no I just checked those people in??. The banker on the phone verified there was no transaction and then the clerk knew she was wrong and then apologized.

I arrived at about 6:45am and Ty was able to get me checked into a room with the quickness. I had just come in from a long drive and really needed/wanted to lay down and sleep. Best service and I definitely will be using this hotel for my future stays. Thank you! 😊

We liked this place a lot. The room was small, but that was expected in a place called "Microtel." The room was very clean and the furnishings were really nice. The breakfast was good, although limited in its options. The surrounding area seemed quite and safe, and there were plenty of restaurants within a short drive from the hotel.

The facility was clean and convenient to the highway.

Near to the hospital. Convenience of finding a good place to eat. Excellent staff. Rooms clean supplied with coffee. Big bathroom. would recommend 😄

Rooms were clean, staff was great. Room was a great price for the quality. It was also located right beside a nice neighborhood. In Columbus GA, it was in a great location easy to access surrounding area.

Good place to stay and convenient to interstate.

It was VERY VERY musty smelling,and the laminate in front of the door was bubbled up. I didn't like the fact, that I wanted to check out a day early, which Expedia called the Hotel to cancel for me,and Rene at the front desk said, I could NOT get a refund,so I had to stay another day.The Continental breakfast is very small. I was more upset with not being able to check out early,and not being able to get a refund than anything. So make sure you KNOW if you can get a refund or NOT before booking. The area is ok, but not really convenient to restaurants. The staff was very nice! If I had to stay there again, would do I? No..... That's just my opinion.

The hotel is very nice and the staff are wonderful. I loved that they always spoke and said welcome back when you returned from somewhere. I dont like the doors. I guess people pull hard to shut them and the slamming made me jumpy. I startle easily. Other than that. Its a great place to stay. I was there for two weeks. Right near the interstate. Which was great because there is not much in the general area.

The staff was great and very helpful. The rooms were clean and quiet with a small reading nook by the window, the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was okay, nothing fancy. But the pancake maker was great. We would definitely stay again.

Clean room, room not ready at 3 pm, breakfast terrible and most hotels have apple or cookie for snack. Coffee was terrible.

The previous reviews on line for this hotel were right on. Room very clean; great service; great buffet breakfast available every morning. All staff very personable and helpful especially Crystal. It’s about 15-20 minutes to Fort Moore. Price also very reasonable. I would definitely stay here if ever in Columbus Georgia again.

Breakfast could be a bit better but rooms are clean and the staff i dealt with were excellent.

Everything was great, with the exception of the breakfast. Not much there. And there aren't any breakfast restaurants near the hotel. If you want to eat, you'll have to drive. It would be great if they had a real hot breakfast in this hotel.

Only complaint was coffee was watered down and slim selection for a breakfast. Would stay again though.
