The Greens Hotel on Del Paso

Property was clean, and staff was nice, but the area of town was not kid friendly. Room was missing hand soap. Had only two towels for 4 people. Kids couldn't use the bunk bed because the mattress was so thick that the railing on the top bunk was non-existent. (They could have fallen off). There were no sheets or blankets for the bunk beds in the room. There is a nice brewery with good pizza across the street. The property was gated with free parking. I would not have felt safe otherwise.

I enjoyed this hotel and it was pleased with the gate that was keeping people out it was kind of inconvenient to have to call each time to open it but overall it made me feel safer

Given concerns with security In Sacramento and high rates of car break in, this property has a fully secured parking area and common space behind solid metal gates that cannot be walked through.

There was not enough parking for me on the Saturday! I had to park in the street. I was worried if my vehicle was going to be

Friendly staff. Clean and safe. However, no coffee machine, no place to hang clothes, and only bath towels. Parking was sparse. We came in late and got the last one.

I stayed at this hotel on Saturday and had a very disappointing experience. The bathroom was dirty and there was no toilet paper. Later that night, no one opened the garage gate, so I had to park on the street and sleep in my car. I called them around 15 times and no one ever answered. Completely unacceptable. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

I like the clean and simple layout of the room, and the comfortable bed. The staff was welcoming and helpful. It's interesting that you need to call to get buzzed into the gated property, but they were efficient with answering each time, and it felt safer because of it. I'd definitely stay here again.

so this is in a small part of the city and it is an older Neighborhood on its way to be transformed. But there is great food within walking disrance and actually the same block of its locationfrom great B-fast diner on the property, Mexican food across the road, and a wonderful hole in the wall BBQ place just outside the gate of the exit. Our room was very spacious and Large TV. My only complaint is if you go out late and come back late you have to call the office to open the gate to be able to drive your car inside the property, whoch is noce knowing your vehicle is safe and secure.

Easy check-in, room was ready a bit after check in time. As a female, not so happy of how the door locks. Not very secure to me. Felt bad cause front gate didn't work, so had to call office when came back (around midnight)

The parking is minimal,i think the hotel was booked, with little parking for guests. There is a nice little coffee shop connected to the north side of the hotel. Fyi, there are 2 Greens Hotels, we ended up almost 15 away cause we put the wrong one in our maps.

I would not recommend. Other peoples hair and fluids were on the bathroom walls. My towels were on the toilet because their shelves are extremely tilted. If parking is filled up you have to park outside of hotel gate. Service was great but facility is not.

Kind of dirty. Got bug bites and was itchy while sleeping in the bed.

Cockroach is the room.

The hotel is located in a rough area, but I appreciate its aesthetic decor and the added security of tall gates. Unfortunately, my stay was marred by multiple issues that left me frustrated and disappointed. Check-in was a nightmare. Our room wasn’t ready until 6 PM. Even though check-in time was stated at 3 PM. Upon arrival, the office was locked and it took some time for the receptionist to appear. While she apologized and suggested we go eat while they cleaned the room, this delay threw off our already tight schedule. When we returned with our food, the room was still unprepared, with full trash bins, an unmade bed, and overall poor cleanliness. Housekeeping seemed unaware of the situation And while they rushed to clean it, there was no urgency or offer to make amends for the inconvenience. Adding to the frustration, we were prohibited from eating by the pool, which felt unnecessarily restrictive. Once the room was finally ready, it had an overpowering chemical smell that required ventilation. Later, we discovered the TV wasn’t working, and there was no phone in the room to contact the front desk. When we eventually got a hold of someone they couldn’t fix the issue and said it would have to wait until morning - Which books unacceptable. To top it off the next morning, we encountered a COCKROACH in the room. That was the final straw.

There was a cockroach living inside the bathroom light. We also were asked to wait 30 minutes to check in at 8:00pm and had an important event to be at that made us late. Area was sketchy as well. Wouldn’t stay again

Unsafe, the door didnt lock and was flimsy, the hotel room was dirty with feces still on the toilet and everything was unclean. The outside was filthy with trash and spills all over the stairs and walkways and parking lot. Do not stay there! The pictures are 100% decieving. It looks post apocalyptic compared to the photos. They also took a $100 deposit after I had paid for the 75 dollar room. I left as I was not going to stay in a disgusting room with a door that didn't lock. Expedia will not give me a refund or even say they are going to vet the hotel. Lost my trust and will not be using expedia again.

the staff was nice. you need to call everytime you want to enter the property. they were always so quick to open the gate though. the rooms were not clean there were hairs all throughout the bathroom and stains on the bedsheets. The doors were tricky to close. our relative staying in another rooms toilet wouldnt flush. the sink in our room would take forever to drain. i felt like the pictures on the website were misleading

Absolutely dilapidated and disgusting. We stayed all of 15 minutes. I found numerous places where there was unusual wear and filth. I also found an empty condom wrapper on the floor. It was unacceptable. I contacted Hotels.com and they did nothing. We found another hotel nearby. Suffice to say I will not be staying at the Greens Hotel or any other Hotels.com property any time soon.

You really get what you pay for. Neighborhood is sketchy. Room was dirty (old food left in the fridge, hair in the shower, stains and holes in the sheets). Bed was comfy enough to sleep. You have to call each time so they let you in, which is pretty annoying. Save your money and look elsewhere.

It was not too dirty to sleep there. There are little bits or unknown grime or splatters here and there that would be ok at home. But not OK in a hotel room. Passable. Take sandals for walking around the room.

Had funky smell in the room. The doors to the room were not sturdy. Someone xould of easilt broken in the room.

Decent sized space for ultimately a good price. My only complaints are that some of the tenants on the property were partaking in some questionable late night activities that may make some guest uncomfortable. The locks on the doors are old and somewhat weathered too making them not feel that secure. Ultimately you get what you pay for

But the immediate area has a lot to offer for food and drink. The hotel property is gated, creating an oasis of a compound. It's quiet, not terribly busy except on weekends, they often sell out. The hotel was built back when things were solid. You do not hear the next room through the walls, better than most hotels these days, by far. It's overseen by a kind Indian family that do a good job and keep things clean, and most of the riff raff out. All of the food establishments on the block are good, the brewery across the street is exceptional, the bbq place on the corner is a great value. Mass transportation (RT Light Rail+ busses) is a block away. A VERY convenient location for anything Sacramento. The rates are among the lowest in the entire city. If you book 6 nights, you get a weekly rate that's even better. The rooms are large, and come with a regular upright fridge/freezer, a decent microwave, and sink. The bathrooms are good size with an easy 2 person size shower. Threre is a pool, that sems functioning, but apparantly not open till next year. And finally, and most important to me: Dog Friendly

It’s was a cool hotel, newly remodeled. Sketchy front door, floors were not clean, there was a used wash cloth and soap in the shower. I got to the hotel on second night and there was no parking, I was told to park somewhere else, everywhere else was only 2 hr parking I had to park in an area that was pretty dicey, wasn’t sure if my rental was going to be there or have a ticket or broken jnto

I loved the set up of my room. Very cozy, came with a full sized fridge, kitchen sink, cute sized bathroom. Great air conditioning. And the best part, the room was SUCH an affordable price!

The location was nice, the room was good. But the heater/air conditioning did not let me sleep. It was turn on very loud every hour and woke me up. If the air units are replaced then this place would have been much better off. But in my particular stay, i did not enjoy the sleep. Unit "P"

It had a bad odor- no closet - no furniture-no where to put our clothes - no coffee pot- ice machine looked dirty not maintain.

This property is very unique in style but very comfortable and clean. The rooms are modern and updated with all the essentials that you need.

I had a hard time finding the place but staff was professional and helpful. The write up said that there was in room, coffee and tea, but there was nothing of the sort. It also didn’t say there was a microwave, but there was which would’ve been helpful. The door was very difficult to unlock, and we needed assistance. Once inside the door was difficult to close completely. There were three security locks on the inside, but none of them worked. It was clean and did not smell bad. There was not much in the way of restaurants within walking distance. They were already closed at 5:30 PM. The walls were very thin and the noise outside and in other rooms was loud. Lots of cars, trains, and church bells. I would not choose to stay here again.

Comfortable beds for a low price. It needs a towel rack. Maybe another mirror and a chair

Upon arrival, there was a sign on the office door that stated they would return in 45 minutes. I called the number on the sign and they said they'd be there in 30 minutes. So I sat in my daughter's car and ate dinner with her and waited. Some time had passed and my daughter asked how long it had been since we arrived, I told her about 25-30 minutes. So we waited for another 10 minutes and it didn't look like anyone was coming in 45 minutes as the sign on the door had stated. My daughter stated that it had been almost an hour, so she proceeded to call the number provided on the sign and a male answered and she asked how much longer that they would be and they couldn't give her an estimated time, but she demanded an eta and proceeded to mention we had been waiting for an hour now. When she said that they said they would be there in a few minutes and not to soon after they arrived. Need I mind you that there were two other guests waiting to check in as well. Finally checking in at 10:35 pm, he stated that it was fourth of July and wasn't expecting new guests. He then took my license, entered it into his system and handed me my key and also said he'd waive the deposit for having me wait. On entering my room, it was clean, but didn't have soap to wash your hands in the bathroom as well as toilet paper, which I didn't notice till I had to use the restroom at midnight. There wasn't anyone at front desk in the morning to check out and leave key, left the key on a clip on the door.

I really enjoyed my stay the staff was frendly and extremely helpful and friendly. They checked to see if everything was good and if i needed anything. I will definitely be staying there again.

Clean Rm, GREAT Staff

I did not get to stay at this hotel because we could not get to check in. We got there at 7:30. There’s nobody there to let us in to the hotel. We rang their intercom at least 10 times and there is no one of the other end round for half an hour, trying to get, we finally gave up Feeling so scared. We money to find an another hotel by two hours later and stay the night there. We went back on Sunday, second day and found someone who is there Manager. He said that we did not tried to contact him, which is not true, and we are still waiting to hear from yourself, Expedia of a complaint. In our opinion we should be refunded for for two days. Stay very unhappy stressful customer.

The office was usually closed and you needed a code to go in and out! There was a shower, but no towels!

Gate requires calling every time you want to Enter the parking lot, check in was supposed to be 3, i arrived at 5:30, and wasn’t able to check in until 6, almost 7pm making me late. Had to transfer rooms in the middle of the night and to upstairs due to plumbing issues.

Very inviting, well-kept and appealing property. The manager/owner was extremely pleasant, friendly, respectful, helpful and always available. I will be staying here again when I return to Sacramento! Thank you so much!

Thee Neighborhood seemed to feel a little sketchy a lot of stores closed down and empty shops. And a lot of Graffiti, but when you step back for a minute and spend some time in the neighborhood there are a bunch of little shops and restraints you don't realize exist. The Mexican restaurant across the road has the nicest employees and great food &service. The hole in the wall BBQ joint that is on the side street out the back gate across the street with a $3.95 Single cheese burger or $5.95 Double Cheeseburger. Awesome Barbeque plate for $30. Includes 4 meats 3 sides. Joes diner in front for breakfast and Lunch.

We very much enjoyed our stay. The hotel is cute and very conveniently located. The room was very spacious and accommodating. My only criticism is that the floors and shower needed to be cleaned better. Other than that, great stay and we will be back.

The property owners get five stars for trying to make the property safe by putting tall metal fences around the property. But while staying here I quickly learned this is a baaad area. I was woken by a verbal argument, followed by the phrase I will kill you, followed by several gun shots….

Hotel feels like a prison with its metal gates and metal doors on lobby and all rooms. Room was clean; staff, polite (if often nervous). Terrible neighborhood, one of two "worst areas" I've stayed in, and I've lived in a few Bay Area neighborhoods suffering from "urban blight." Only one open restaurant in a three-block area. A discount grocery store (on Del Paso Blvd.) is six blocks away from hotel. FOUR people, in two hours, without me prompting them, advised: "Don't walk around here more than you have to, and especially not at night." Spend extra money and stay in a better area. . . avoid what my Sacramento-familiar friend called "The Stroll."

My stay at the green is always awesome its clean the staff is super friendly ready to fix any problems. The restaurant out front is great ."eat at little joes" will always stay at the green

Great staff. Really pleasant safe courtyard surrounded by plants and incorporating a cafe and art facility. Could use a hot water pot as microwave was marginal to boil water.

Screw Hyatt, Hilton, Marriott, and all the others. Give your hard earned money to people that are really trying. 4 very cool places to eat right next to hotel. Shift, Joe's BBQ, King Cong's, and another I can't remember. This hotel is my favorite in Sacramento. Great job!😀🤔💪😎
