Good value. Great pool and hot tub. The beach is a bit of a walk through grassy sand dunes, about 1/4 mile. Fully equipped kitchen in our suite. Great staff, Mandy at front desk was very helpful with recommendations and researching things she didn't know.

Liked the fireplace and spacious living/dining room. Didn't like the cold pool. The indoor pool was the main reason we chose this place, knowing we could have rainy days with 4 kids. Then the excuse that cold weather made the pool cold seemed flimsy. All the promises to warm it up didn't materialize.

The property was close to the beach and close to most ocean shores beaches. However, the deck on our room was rotting and angled down and away. We found mystery brown stains on the couch. The water pressure in shower was very low. It advertised 2 bathrooms, it is actually 1 and a half bathroom. One of the bedrooms the windows opened into the hallway which means you don't want them open. Also, the shampoo and conditioner they offered free of charge smells like chemicals bring your own. This property is not worth the price, it felt like a rundown apartment complex.

I have stayed at this Canterbury Inn many times. Almost every other vacation to the WA coast. I have stayed in this exact room 3 times. This is the first we had a very poor experience. Cleanliness was poor. Our dishwasher filter had pet hair, sand and old food stuck in the filter trap. The dishes in the cabinet had dried stuck on food. I used the outside hose at the sand washing station to clean the filter. The gentleman during the nightshift at the counter was super nice and helpful but I couldn't wait till the next morning to do the dishes. We needed clean ones the next morning. Pots and pans felt oily and had residue. We basically washed everything before we could use it. We had 4 families total at the Inn and 2 out 4 had similar experiences. We were all on different floors or halls. Our neighbors were loud! Playing loud music after 10pm. Barking dogs during the night. Dogs were unleashed outside. We basically didnt sleep for a few days. We checked out earlier than anticipated and cut our stay short due the neighbors. Again the gentleman at the night desk was super kind but his hands were tied. The only bathroom with a shower didn't have a working ceiling fan vent. We never heard back from housekeeping or maintenance. We placed one of the provided box fans in the bathroom to provide circulation. Overall it wasn't the experience we have had in the past.

This was the cleanest hotel we've EVER stayed at. Our room was beautifully decorated and felt very homey as did the whole building. The staff was very attentive and kind, even those working throughout the building. We loved the beach trail and conveniently located location. It was an easy walk or drive to multiple beaches, shops, and restaurants. We would definitely stay again.

Bottom line - very nice apartment-like hotel in Ocean Shores. Walkable to the beach although the beach is not close enough to really sit out and watch the waves. We were on the top floor and could see the ocean, but it is circa half a mile away behind the grassy dunes. Nonetheless, this is an excellent hotel with a really good price. The hotel is actually individually owned condos, but it is managed like a hotel in terms of check in and your stay. Kind and helpful staff. We stayed in a large two bedroom which was very clean and well kept up, although the furniture is a bit dated. This did not affect our enjoyment or comfort. Parking is easy. The best part of the hotel might have been the heated pool and hot tub. Very nicely maintained and mostly we had them to ourselves. It is a bit difficult to walk to restaurants or shops given limited sidewalks near the hotel, but everything in the town is a short drive away. We found some nice restaurants and shops in the town, and we really enjoyed that you can drive onto the beach. We went in the fall/midweek, and there were no crowds. Lovely area to get away from city life and really enjoy this quiet ocean town. Recommended.

Room 306. Overall it was a nice clean cozy studio with view of the ocean. Slept with the slider open all nite to hear the ocean which was awesome hearing the waves crashing all nite. Thats what we were after. Bed firmly comfy. Newer fridge, microwave. Negs - TV was smaller than in other rooms. Toilet flush sounds like a jet taking off. Walls seemed thin, can hear next room conversations (and other things!). Flooring on deck was delaminating a bit and had exposed nail heads. No a/c in room, but a large box fan in closet if needed. Only real annoying thing we experienced besides the loud neighbors at nite was the sliding curtain to the deck, it is one single pull curtain and not a split curtain so the window by the head of the bed let a lot of light in in the am...couldn't block the window unless you pulled the curtain all the way across blocking the access to the deck.

I really enjoyed this condominium style room. It had a lot of pluses. With the kitchen and the living room space and separate bedroom. I also liked that there was plenty of areas to walk my dog. The big negative is that even though there is supposed to be Wi-Fi good luck getting access to it and you absolutely cannot stream any tv or cable shows. You are stuck with watching the direct tv service that they provide. Also the rooms get very stuffy and could use some sort of air conditioning. They do provide a box fan but I could only imagine during the summer time how uncomfortable it would be. Also it takes quite a while for the water heater to heat up in the shower. Overall there are there are many more pluses than negatives and I would recommend this place. The staff was very friendly during check out/ check in.

The 2 br, 3rd fl unit had views all around and was sunny and bright. Fireplace was a nice touch. Unit was dog-friendly but you couldn’t tell. A little dated but very clean and well maintained. Pool was nice and warm but there weren’t any games to borrow and videos were rentals. Trails to beach were still underwater from winter rains so driving was necessary. Lots of fun family activities for the whole family in Ocean Shores!

The woman who checked us in was terrible! She started complaining about how the room I checked out was really weird but always checked out because it's the “cheapest room.” She spoke for about 5 minutes about how weird the room was and kept mentioning how cheap it was as if I couldn't afford more. When I asked her about upgrading the room because I thought our room had two beds and I'd be willing to pay for a better room, she firmly said no and that every room was booked all weekend. I later found out this was a lie as other staff told me there were other rooms available. She then talked to us at length about her family problems and then promptly told us she would “not be helping us anymore” because she was “off the clock and going home” so if we had any problems “don't talk to me.” The other staff were very kind and polite which is why this is not a one star. There is no beach access as advertised as the trail just leads to a swampy area about a quarter mile away from the actual beach. The DVD and TV system is also weird - in 2024 I would expect to at least be able to access and log into applications using the TV and not just cable TV or DVDs. For a hotel that cost over $100 a night I was expecting more even if I did get the “cheap room.” In short the very first experience with the receptionist who checked us in left a terrible taste in my mouth and I will not be returning to Canterbury regardless of the other things that are nice about this hotel.

Check in was a bit long wait due to the person ahead of us checking in to several rooms, but the lady apologized, and welcomed us. She was very nice. There were some dogs barking late through the night, which kept me up for awhile but it did finally quiet down.

This hotel sucks and I would never recommend it. They have no early check in even if your room is ready. Don’t get a pet friendly room unless you want a room that smells like piss. Rooms are dirty and hairy. Not family friendly at all. Kids can’t swim in the pool from 10-11pm even if no one is in the pool… staff is rude and has poor customer service.

This is by FAR the most well maintained property I have stayed at in Ocean Shores, and I’ve stayed at many. I loved it. As I’ve never stayed at The Canterbury before, I spent quite some time looking at reviews and came across multiple references to the ‘rules’. Once I booked and received the email, I realized it was all common sense. These are well maintained units in a nice establishment. If you want to sneak dogs in, or leave them unattended aside from a quick trip to the pool, don’t stay here. If you want people in your room who aren’t on your reservation, don’t stay here. If you want to let kids run rampant or drop them off at the pool without any adult supervision, don’t stay here. If you want to party, make a mess of your room, and it’s too much of an inconvenience to dispose of trash at the end of the hall, don’t stay here. The person who reserved the room is the person who needs to be present upon check-in. Don’t check in early if you don’t want to pay $25 and don’t check out late. I don’t understand the confusion. Common sense. Respect. If you DO want a place that takes pride in their establishment, has lovely grounds and clean, well stocked rooms, offers courteous 24 hour customer service, cares about its guests and respects the owners of the units, and knows that the only people who have a problem with ‘the rules’ are the people who want to break them, do yourself a favor and stay here. I look forward to another peaceful, lovely stay here and will return asap.

Fabulous place to stay. Booked for one night coming out of Olympic NP. Has a small apartment feel to it and a covered balcony overlooking the sand dunes to the Pacific Ocean. Would book this place again!

Our room had a kitchenette that was supplied with plates, a toaster, silverware, cooking pans and utensils. We brought our own coffee pot which was good. There was a tiny one in the room though. Our dog was supplied with his own towels and a blanket, snacks, and food and water dish. It is definitely dog friendly! The people that checked us in and out were friendly and efficient. We were so comfortable! Had such a nice three day stay for our 30th anniversary! There was a really strong deodorizer used in the hallways that was a bit much. It did not permeate into our room though.

These rooms are time-share condo studios that are rented as hotel rooms when not owner-occupied. Nice little kitchenette in the room, but only one packet of coffee, no creamer. Nice condition, clean, comfortable. NOT ocean view. Very friendly, helpful staff. No in-house breakfast or coffee/cooler in the lobby. Big parking lot, very little landscaping. At $145 for a single on a Friday night, good value - and I would stay here again without hesitation.

I got a good deal reserving two weeks ahead and getting a very competitive price for accommodations and all the extras such an indoor pool and Jacuzzi. My single bedroom suite had a four burner stove and microwave fridge freezer along with a microwave oven, which came in handy!
