Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Newark Liberty International Airport

They didnt have a microwave in the room, construction was ongoing all through my stay and the elevators were always shut down. They didnt let me know ahead that i would pay $16 per night for parking and i had 2 cars.

Great for a night before and after a trip to Iceland. Used the shuttle. Room was reasonably spacious and the bed comfortable. We managed to keep two large suitcases open on surfaces. The included breakfast (unusual these days ) was ample and good. One of two elevators not working, apparently for a long time. Allow time if you plan to use the elevator. There was coffee in the lobby which was nice since we had to spend time waiting there.

The Hotel was under construction which made it difficult to find a place to park as construction materials were taking up many parking spaces and which I was charged $17 a day for self-parking on top of it! The parking cost is a bit ridiculous when parking is right around the perimeter of the hotel! Just another way to get extra money from customers! In addition, it was 100 degrees outside and the hotel had one working ice machine in the entire hotel on the first floor! Ice machines on all other floors were out of order! There was also a main entrance door unavailable for use during my stay for no apparent reason! Very inconvenient to customers, especially when the main entrance wasn’t fully functional due to construction materials taking up space! Coffee, tea and ice water were available 24/7, however, due to construction, the morning continental breakfast was not operational! There should have been more done by the hotel to accommodate customers due to all inconveniences out of the customer’s control! On the plus side, the room was extremely clean and the beds were comfortable! Once construction is compete, I’m sure the Hotel will be extremely nice and fully functional and comfortable for customers! Daily parking charges should be eliminated!!!!!

They were doing renevation during our stay. We did not have access to any of the amenities like to gym or laundry and snack area which was very disappointing.

The hotel should have stated months ago when I was booking that they were on renovations. I wasn't able to experience pool etc or nothing for my daughter. I didn’t like the stay at all.

Hard to find parking even though I was charged for it. Construction dirt and noise. No pool, exercise room, or laundry due to construction.

The hotel was extremely difficult to get to especially if you are not familiar with NJ and the highways. Hotel is in process of being updated, and construction going on. There was supposed to be a pool, when asked about it they said it had been closed since 2020 to upgrade the exercise room which was also under construction still. I was not told there was a daily parking fee and only found out after they charged my card several days later.. Staff was nice is about the only good thing i can say. Won't be staying here again.

Room not clean (especially bathtub). The complimentary breakfast was atrocious- found mold on a bagel I was about to eat. Only stayed one night so just made the best of it but would not stay here again.

Roaches in the room, the phone in the room was not working, hair in the shower, and pillows smelled really bad. They didn't offer an apology after I told the front desk employees. No restaurants or stores around the area. I will never go back to this hotel.

My bed was dirty, I went from there to the emergency room with an allergy that caused my face to become inflamed. Until today, I thought it was something I ate, but the day I was going to check out, I found my face worse. When I removed the sheets the matre was stained as if with blood...

Area was loud and the hotel Smelled .

We were in town to attend a wedding. The first room had a huge stain in the entryway, and we needed to be moved to another room, due to water dripping under the bathroom sink. That room switch saved the rating for this hotel. The room we were switched to had an upgraded shower and was larger. Additionally, we did not have the eye sore of that large questionable stain in the entryway. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The shower had great pressure and temperature. Breakfast was so so. A variety would be great! There are two waffle makers which causes a backlog of people. We ended up standing behind a woman making waffles for her family of 5. It’s not a fault issue, it’s just an inconvenience when you’re time-limited. The workers are fantastic! Everyone we encountered was pleasant and customer service oriented. We really appreciated that. We would come back if ever in this area again. I’m willing to give this hotel a second chance. Hopefully, the room is up to par. Consistency is a key!

The breakfast was great! And super convenient to have pick up and drop off to the airport. I couldn’t hear much noise which was nice. The only thing I can say negative was the room and bathroom could have been a little cleaner.

Under renovation. Our room was new and spotless with a great bed. When I phoned from Canada about shuttle service I was told only the pickup times. We wasted some time finding out the pick up was from P4 . Upon arrival there there was no sign for this hotel. Again we had to ask many questions , All this frustration could have been answered avoided with better information on my original inquiry.

Pros: close to newark airport and newark prudential arena concerts Cons: the bolt to the toilet seat was coming off. The faucet was also not in the counter fully and rattled. When i went to open the fridge the whole thing fell of the shelf. There were cookie crumbs by the mirror in the medium. Some kind od garbahe or bottle caps shoved under the bed. Definitely will not ever go back here. The lobby was also under construction which wasnt mentioned when i booked the hotel

Clean rooms, streaming available if you have an acct to log in. Breakfast had many selections, very delicious. Only complaint is construction going on and the noises at night. Doors are thin.

Good place. Excellent price! The shuttle from EWR is on a regular schedule. The rooms are recently renovated and clean. You can stream Netflix and Prime through the television. Breakfast is complimentary and has a good selection. If you are going to the airport, shuttle driver will bring you to whatever terminal you request

I loved the suites, the cheap rate ($143/night), the great bed, and so on. The location is ugly, but what can you expect for a hotel near an airport?

The building was under construction but our room appeared recently redone and was very comfortable. The noise from the airport seemed to disappear by 11.

Fast and friendly service. Clean rooms that are a good size. Conveniently close to NYC.

The air conditioner is very noisy, especially near the bed, and there is also a loud noise from outside. Had a layover and needed a good sleep after a 12-hour flight, but was disappointed.

Jaselle was excellent at check in! She was dealing with many customers but was pleasant even though rooms were not ready.

Front desk staff is superb. My wife fell ill at Newark airport at the start of our final leg home from a European vacation. I picked the Fairfield as our respite, and I am glad I did. My wife was sick enough that she needed medical attention and the night clerk called paramedics for us. The desk staff extended our stay twice, gave us late check out, among other help.

The property was fine. What I am unhappy about is the shuttle service from the airport. To get to this hotel, you take 1 shuttle to get onto the air train which takes you too the shuttle that takes you to the hotel. That night the shuttle driver must have been taking a nap because myself and other folks waited for over an hour for

Only stayed one night, my room was clean and the staff was courteous.

They only have 1 working elevator that is shared with housekeeping & the current renovation crew. Elevator is slow & in poor condition. No restaurant for lunch or dinner onsite. The front desk were all helpful & friendly. Room was clean but a bit dated. We had to use the shuttle twice to the airport. The 1st driver was rude. The 2nd one was only a little better. Elevator situation was really annoying. If we ever need to stay near the airport again we will be trying a different hotel.

I had requested support bringing my bags from my room since I am in a wheelchair. This never arrived, and calling the front desk did not help.

The building? Well, it’s there. The room? Well, it’s there. Let’s just say the staff, the transportation, and the communication offered by the staff are all practically and essentially non-existent. Stay here at your own peril. You get what you deserve at this place. Never again.

Super friendly staff, very clean

Glad to have the airport shuttle, but I did have to wait a while for it to show up. The staff was really great and kind, the breakfast was decent. The elevator smelled a little like barf and one of my rooms smelled faintly of cigarettes. The other room I stayed in was really nice though! It was very convenient to get to the airport, but an expensive Lyft to get anywhere else. If you’re looking for a cheapish spot near the airport, this was a decent choice.

The ones working in dining room did an excellent thorough job of cleaning. Upon check in, young lady not as friendly and welcoming. She was not rude but not welcoming. We had questions and I had to ask further questions to get an answer. I realize the place is under constructions, then offer first what options are available to make my stay more comfortable. I needed the business center to make copies and asked where I can get copies. First reply was oh we’re under construction we don’t have a business center. Then I asked if she had a place where I can print out something. The reply was no. So I say I really need to get a print out. Then the reply was the hotel next door has a business center I could use. Good customer service would have mentioned to me when I first inquired about the business center, “ I apologize for the inconvenience, our business center is down due to the remodeling but we have an arrangement with the hotel next door to use their business center.” She made me feel uncomfortable and like I was bothering her for asking more questions. There was a couple more incidents with me asking further questions to get answers. The room set up was very comfortable. However the phone in our room was not hooked up and it was broken. The buttons were missing. I had to go downstairs to reach front desk. When I mentioned it to the same young lady. She just said oh we can’t fix it they would have to call a company. First, offer to check. Replace phone. Smile

The Hotel is right across from the Airport, yet inside it was very quiet. The Parking Lot has remnants of a parking gate, that is no longer in use. We arrived early enough to find a parking space. By the next morning people were parked wherever they could fit a car. The Staff was Friendly and Helpful. The Hotel didn't have food service in the evening but we were directed a couple of doors down where we could get dinner at the Courtyard. The Room was Clean, and Secure. I received a charge for parking, which I had not been made aware of. When I called to inquire, the person on the other end said she'd take care of it.

To get to location from NJ Turnpike was very confusing. Got lost several times. Need to provide guests with written driving instructions to get in and out of location otherwise everything else was very good.

Not good Ada. Staff told me multiple times shuttle was wheelchair friendly and it was not. Huge waste of time after a stressful day traveling

Not the fault of the hotel but Google maps showed that you can walk to a bus stop from here but it is sandwiched between two highways, and you have to take a shuttle to the airport in order to get any buses to go anywhere. Thus it was inconvenient to get any meals or sight see. Fine for one night before a flight but no more than that.

It is under renovation, but Expedia failed to show that status on their ad. If would have known, would not have book it. Plus - Staffs are friendly, morning breakfast was good, the renovation will add value. Minus - Location is horrible, even it’s close to EWR, but very difficult to get to. 2 miles away from airport, but will take 10-20 min to get to.. it even confuses the GPS. Wifi signal could use improvement.. especially in room. The streaming service was not working and they said they couldn’t get technicians to complete the upgrade. Hot water for shower was a bit challenge, for couple of days there was no hot water.. luckily the weather was warm. Definitely can use mattresses upgrade to match their renovation. As for getting something to eat and convenient stores.. good luck.. it’s a min. 15 min. Drive.. and best to know the neighborhood.. some parts are sketchy.

Ideal for a stay for a few nights away from Manhattan. Close to Newark airport with a free shuttle every 30 mins. We used the shuttle and then the NJ transit to get into New York Penn station, it took around 45 minutes for less than $20. The hotel was reasonable with the usual free hot breakfast. We’d stay here again as very handy for the airport. Downside was nothing really around in terms of restaurants etc so really used as just a base.

There is only one way to go to the hotel - shuttle to airport. No walk to other types of public transport.

We stayed for one night at the Fairfield Inn & Suites Newark Liberty International Airport (4 adults, 1 room) and had a great experience. The staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming, we arrived for an early check-in around 8 a.m., and they were very accommodating. The property has been newly renovated, and the updates look fantastic. Renovations to the lobby are almost complete, and it’s already looking fresh and modern. The complimentary breakfast was excellent, with a sizeable selection: different breads, cereals, fruits, a daily choice of hot food, boiled eggs, coffee, tea, and more. A great start to the day before heading out. Shuttle service to the airport runs every 30 minutes and must be reserved at the reception desk. Overall, a comfortable, clean, and convenient stay, especially for travelers flying in or out of Newark Liberty. The friendly staff and thoughtful amenities made it even better.

I like how despite of renos, my room was quiet. The housekeeping staff was very co-operative. The thing I didn’t like is - the food ( bagel had green fungus on it) - no healthy option of bread like multigrain, one of the waffle machines stops many times but no one comes to fix it. Coffee and tea refills are not done right at closing of breakfast so anyone who comes around 8:55 gets room temp. Coffee. Please have masala chai tea as an option for tea.

Just there 1 night after a long flight. Staff very friendly and helpful. Comfortable bed but no USB ports in room for phones. Breakfast is help your self and a bit cramped in the service area. That said didn’t go hungry. Would stay again.

Good location close to the Airport, clean rooms and a good breakfast.

This is my go to place anytime I am home visiting. They offer a good breakfast and located minutes to the airport. There is limited dining options if you do not have a vehicle.
