The Beaufort Inn

Property is undergoing renovation. You park in the dirt parking lot across the street. The location of the inn is very close to downtown which is nice.

Had an overnight stay and throughly enjoyed it. Our room was ready early. The reception process easy and friendly. The inn itself, along with the grounds, and room were very nice. The reception provided us with use of bikes as well as a park pass to use on check out day on the honor system. I will be back again. We loved it.

The Beaufort Inn was an absolutely magical stay! The cafe lights and the fire pits made it one amazing stay! I couldn’t recommend it enough!

Underwhelming to say the least. Floor and rugs were filthy. Bathroom was dirty. Lock on door was loose. No WiFi password was provided, I tried calling and texting front desk with zero response. Parking was not anywhere near our room. Location and area are lovely and that was the only redeeming quality besides being able to bring our dog.

The Beaufort Inn is conveniently located in the historical district. There are many choices for shopping and eating within walking distance. We took advantage of the free passes for Hunting Island State Park and used the Inn's bicycles. If I had to mention negative - the breakfast wasn't exceptional, but it was free.

Convenient location near Bay Street in the historic district. A short walk to pretty much everything worth seeing in Beaufort. Ongoing restoration work takes away from the experience somewhat.

Great service and lovely room. The bikes and park pass was a bonus because they can be checked out and used for free for the day. The staff was lovely and kind to my service dog too.

This was a nice property. It is located close to everything in the historic district. No restaurant onsite. You are given a voucher for two restaurants nearby. This complex of building are older homes and have stairs so if your elderly or have a lot of luggage ask for a ground floor room. Mattress in our room needed to be replaced. For the amount of money spent I would expect better.

Lovely historic inn with lots of charm! Great outdoor spaces and nice extras like bikes to ride around the historic neighborhoods, s’more kits for the fire tables, and breakfast vouchers for two local restaurants.

It is a beautiful boutique inn. It is right in the old town area. The Inn provided bikes for quests to ride which we enjoyed. There is some construction going on close by though, but it didn’t spoil our stay. The staff is very friendly.

Very disappointing. The hotel was under construction. And worse was that when I was ready for my morning shower the next morning the shower floor had lots of black mold all along the edge and shower entrance The shower was not cleaned at all. The only positive was the hotels location

This hotel was a room outside ,it is a little outdated ,the shower was dirty and y he wooden flor was also dirty and ugly, the lamps were full of dust and smelled bad, it smelled old ,the mattress was uncomfortable, the cafeteria is far from the hotel, I did not go to breakfast even one day ,the surroundings are pleasant and had seats to relax but there were many mosquitoes, you culd not stay there I not recommend it.

Beautiful place and friendly staff. However, our room smelled of mold and had sticky carpet and peeling wallpaper. The place as a whole is beautiful and convenient.

Nice charming old house but needs some TLC. Don’t stay in Room 2. Horrible smell of bleach trying to cover up mold. Mold in shower and probably behind moldy tiles. Also not a real bed and breakfast since just give you a $10 voucher to a restaurant. Probably won’t be back.

After our recent stay at The Beaufort Inn I was fully prepared to write a scathing review of the less then stellar accommodations but I first want to fully acknowledge John. I’m not sure if he was a front desk attendant or a manager but if he’s not a manager he should be. When we initially arrived at check in we were greeted by another attendant who took us to a dark, dusty two bedroom suite in what I think is the Fisher Cottage. The first thing I noticed was the musty, stale smell of the room, the worn furniture, filthy fireplace and dirty walls. We tried to ignore these shortcomings acknowledging this is an old property, but historic doesn’t excuse inadequate cleaning. From there our evening went from bad to worst once we discovered the air conditioning was inoperable and room temperature was 80 degrees and rising. In addition to the broken air conditioner the bed frame on the king bed was broken which caused the bed to droop to one side and the numerous area rugs looked as if they hadn’t been shampooed in years. After receiving no response from the 24 hr front desk we packed and fully intended to leave the next morning and find other accommodations. That’s when John showed up. John didn’t just call but he walked over to our suite and immediately apologized for what was a hot and miserable night of no sleep. After speaking briefly John returned within minutes holding the keys to our new room as well as adjusting our entire bill. In closing I must say the new room was

Photographs of this property, make it look as though it is clean, charming, and a great place to stay. The reality is much different peeling paint stain wallpaper in the lobby completely in need of a revamp. Our first drum was up to flights of stairs with old dirty carpeting. When we requested another room it was on the ground floor. We open the door and we greeted by the smell of some sort of cleaning product Aroma and mold … my husband has breathing it is so we were forced to find another hotel if the right company got in there and did a complete overhaul. It’s a great location in the middle of town.

Wonderful stay! Spotless & comfortable. Friendly staff. We’ll be back!

Clean room

We were greeted by Patricia and she was both welcoming and knowledgeable about the historic property. We had some cleanliness issues and Patricia moved us to a new room. We had to overlook some cleanliness issues with the bathtub in the second room and only used the shower. Housekeeping has such an important role and they need to better understand the impact they have on guests.

I was so excited to stay here based on the reviews but first and foremost they changed the main house color from pink to white and believe it or not that’s why I booked it because it was so cute and different. Secondly, I have to say the bathroom was very disappointing. There was only a rain showerhead and for some of us that do not wash our hair every day, it was almost impossible to get washed because there was not enough room between the walls and the water pouring out from above you to get cleaned up properly. The toilet took forever to refill. The staff was very nice but extremely disappointed and you changing the color and your bathroom set up.

I understand an inn is not the same as a hotel but I wished there was hot water in my room. I only stayed two nights and made due. I’m non confrontational and didn’t say anything to the staff. Hope they check that rooms have these basic amenities in the future prior to guest arrivals.

The room and bathroom were lovely and very spacious. I also enjoyed my time in the rocking chair on the balcony. The Inn is within walking distance of great restaurants, shopping and views. Highly recommend!

The grounds are wonderful. Very nice staff. The main house's public areas and continental breakfast are quite nice. I would rank the property as "excellent" once the rooms in the main old house where we stayed are remodeled. The rooms have a very 1994 feel to them. The wallpaper needs to be stripped off and the walls freshly painted. The bathrooms need to be upgraded with standing showers, new floor tiles, and the base boards repainted. I'd stay at The Beaufort Inn again but in a room or cottage that's been updated.

We stayed in one of the newer buildings on the property, King bedroom. It was very large, huge walk in shower, very comfortable and perfectly clean. Staff was very pleasant. Very convenient location walk to main drag (Bay St) waterfront, and lots of shopping and restaurants, bars, etc. Would highly recommend!

The Inn is comprised of several historic buildings with original details. You have to know y The property consists of many historic cottages and building and i like the charm. However, my cottage had no drapes and ill fitting blinds that let the security light in and ruined my stay. My room was so bright at night and if you were outside you could see inside the room because of the gaps. The beds and accommodations were comfortable, but sadly, until they add drapes I wont be back.

Charming inn with nicely furnished room that was conveniently located in the heart of Beaufort. Vouchers were given for breakfasts but we exceeded the amount. In our 3rd floor room the AC control did not work so the temperature went below 65 degrees. l

So I'll make this review short and not-so-sweet. My shower did not turn on at all. Luckily, there was a separate bathtub available; however, this is inexcusable for a supposedly 5-star hotel. The room's phone was disconnected. To me, this was a safety issue. Also, the breakfast was mediocre at best. And lastly, I was only given a $50 refund for enduring this mess. I don't recommend anyone staying here.

This Inn is gorgeous, and rooms are spacious with comfortable furniture. Great walking distance to all that downtown Beaufort has to offer. Highly recommend.

Had a great time at the Beaufort Inn staying three nights for our wedding anniversay. Staff were extremely helpful. Our original room was on the worst side for the really high temperatures during our stay. The staff quickly and helpfully moved us to another excellent room. Highly recommend the Beaufort Inn!

I liked the personal touch upon check in. They give you an overview of the history of this lovely home. Walk with you to show you tbe location of your room. The location is close to Bay St and the historical area of downtown Beaufort. Very walkable.

Staff poorly trained. Nervous with lots of guests at check in. Not helpful and don’t listen when asked questions!

Arrive late - the night security, Kennedy was an excellent host -- showed us room and got a couple of glasses for wine for us so we could eat a late dinner on the porch. During the stay hotel staff were excellent and Beaufort Inn had a great deal of Southern Charm which was why we chose the Inn rather than a standard chain hotel

My husband and I had a quick visit to Beaufort Inn late August and would not recommend this hotel. When we arrived the staff were both extremely friendly, but that was about the only positive. We waited 15 minutes for our reservation to be found. We had to move our car to an off site lot. After our reservation was found and keys were made we were taken to our room. The room was outside of the main house in a rear building. There was not an elevator just some rickety stairs. We entered the room and noticed the blinds were broken and dirty. The linens on the bed had hair on them. The bathroom was old and also had hair on the small shelf where our towels were set out. The fan overhead the bed did not have a means to turn off and was unbalanced so made a noise throughout the night. We had four packets of coffee in the room and all but one happened to be decaf. The description of the hotel states breakfast included and I guess it was if you want to travel a block away to one of the two restaurants that the hotel provides breakfast vouchers for. The restaurants were both very crowded we could not get into one and we were on a time frame. We did get a bagel with our breakfast voucher from another restaurant. I personally would not recommend this hotel and will not be returning in the future.

Beautiful property with several options for rooms. Parking is easy, everything downtown is walkable and the staff is great.

Cute property right downtown in Beaufort, walking distance to everything in town. We were first time visitors to Beaufort and it is a charming and aesthetically awesome village and the the Beaufort Inn was a great spot to be for a couple nights!

The Beaufort Inn is a beautiful, boutique style hotel, ideally located in the heart of downtown and close to everything. The staff was friendly, our room was immaculate and the beds were comfortable. I would definitely stay here again. The only reason I give it 4 and not 5 stars is due to the amount of steps to our room (no elevator). There was no mention of this prior to booking, and the pictures of the room led me to believe there would only be a small number of steps leading to the front porch. There were, indeed, 4-5 steps up to the porch, but we were on floor 2 (again, no mention) and there were a good 15-20 additional steps leading up to our room. This may not be a problem for some, but I’m in my 60’s with a bad back and knees. It took multiple trips hauling luggage up and down those steps before we were able to get settled. Having my daughter with me helped tremendously! The room, itself, was gorgeous and roomy, with a lovely little balcony out back for morning coffee. We were also given vouchers for breakfast each morning at either of two local restaurants. It did not cover the entire cost, but a significant chunk of it, and the food at both places was quite good. Those steps were a bear though, and I will now be wiser when making future reservations. Hopefully, those reading this with similar concerns will be better informed too. Otherwise, we really enjoyed our stay in charming Beaufort!

Fantastic hotel, would come back any time. The free breakfast is not that, they give $10 per person for a restaurant across the street.

Breakfast arrangement is confusing. No breakfast at the Inn. 2 coupons given. One to bagel place ($7) and one to full breakfast place. Staff nice at bagel shop but premises run down. Coupon for full breakfast place is worth $10, but when I ordered a muffin and coffee, I was told coupon only covered full order breakfast choices. All more than $10. Resort fee covers “ beach access and towels” but no beach in Beaufort. When I checked out,I was told pass to state park would be given. But I had to return the pass to the Inn. This info not given at check in

The stay was great. Only comment is that it was offered as breakfast included. Which isn’t true. Their is no restaurant on-site. We got a voucher for a nearby place which only covered a small portion of the bill.

Easy check in. Prompt repair to heating issue. Two good choices for breakfast nearby. Quiet, comfortable room.

The property is beautiful, comfortable, and the staff wonderful! We were just disappointed that they give us breakfast vouchers instead of offering the actual breakfast like they listed on their ad. Usually historic inns that offer breakfast provides on site in their nice dining rooms and most even serve on nice China to offer the full experience to their guest. The voucher was also not enough to pay for even a simple breakfast.
