La Quinta by Wyndham Longview North

The rooms and breakfasts were great but we booked this hotel for the in door pool and spa and the spa was cemented in which didn’t say that online. So we were disappointed about that. But everything else was great.

Walking into this hotel, I wasn’t even sure I was in the right place. There was construction everywhere. I had to move some chairs to get to the check-in desk, tarps, and dust in the breakfast area. The side door which I came and went through was not locked did not have a a card reader for security was that was very disconcerting to me that anyone could come and go through that door.

When I walked in the hotel there was tons of construction going on. So much so that you could not even walk up to the front desk cause they were building a front desk. The person working the front desk told me it was a $100 security hold for the room. I asked how long is the hold and he told me 7-10 business days. Needless to say I did that cash so that after an extensive room check upon checkout I could get that back. Then when I got in room it was very warm I had them come up to room and help me with ac. The guy was very nice and showed me how to work it but said needless to say the ac automatically shuts down every 4 hours. Well I left and came back at midnight and guess what? room was warm again. I then had the front desk come and look at it again and she suggested not to put the air on auto that seemed to fix it and the room stayed cool the rest of the night. I do think they need printed instructions on how to work the ac because that would have made things go so much easier all day. Pool was nice but the pool room is very warm needs some kind of air circulation. I did not eat the breakfast so cannot comment but they did serve a beef and noodles at night free to all guest. Thought that was a nice gesture. The hotel is a older hotel and do feel after all the renovations it will be a really nice place. The workers were all very nice and helpfull. But do not like the $100 hold they do.

Hotel was clean, however cosmetic damages in room to bathroom door/trim on shower and also no back to remote. However major disappointment that the pictures and search asked for hot tub and there is not one and the pool was too cold to even use.

Hotel is being worked on, remodeled I guess. Was directed to use the side door but there was no key reader there. Just a hole where it should be. Moved car to the other side door and its key reader was hanging on two wires but did work. Got to the room and the toilet was running. No telling for how long. Waste of water. Hope the remodel corrects these issues.

I didn’t like that the pool was out of order and closed until further notice

I stay at La quinta hotels a lot. This is the worst experience i've ever had. First thing I get there and there is construction. Then when we go to the elevator there is a note on the elevator stating that there will be no continental breakfast. Just grab and go, which means muffins. Waffles, etc. Nothing that you would find in a normal breakfast. The that you pay for. I get to the room and it's nice, but hot. The air conditioner kept turning from cold to heat. We told the staff we wanted room service. The next day and no one ever came. So we went down again and told them for the next day, and no one ever came. So we called down and had them send somebody up. We were so fed up at the time. We just asked for towels and for her to clean the bathroom. The bathroom shower drain was broken and kept moving. There was no body, wash and no hand soap. We made the front lady aware of that, and she said, that's not part of their job. We complained on friday night and no one returned our messages. Went down the next morning and the lady at the desk said she had forwarded to her general manager. Four days later, and I still have no return messages from anyone. If I was able to I was going to leave on Friday and find another hotel, but they never responded. And I didn't want to lose the $400. I had just spent renting that room. The water pressure in the shower was almost next to nothing. The pool was overchlorinated and super cold. There is no hot tub as the picture shows. Trash was full

My only issue was that I booked because it appeared there was a hot tub in the pictures, all to find its been cemented in, only reason I booked it...otherwise nice stay, allowed early check in too.

Disappointed that the pool was closed for renovations.

This is supposed to be a smoke free hotel, but our room reeked like a dirty ashtray. Every time the A/C would kick on I felt like I was taking a grad of a Marlboro. The listing said the hotel had an indoor pool and hot tub, but to our surprise the pool was closed till further notice and the spa was no more. I was glad that the hot breakfast was available.

It was comfortable and affordable. There was a big roach in the shower when i got there though. Seemed to be an anomaly and not indicative of the general upkeep of the hotel.

The floor in elevator and hallways were dirty and smelled like bug spray. The breakfast was very minimal and no regular coffee.

The room was clean with many amenities. The staff was efficient, professional and friendly. The breakfast varied every day.

Door frame to bathroom was completely rusted. Door was so swollen the door wouldn’t close. Room looked like it should never be rented. The next room was better except for the baby roaches.

Chemical smell hit strong upon entering room, ac was good, beds clean, floors were damp and dirty due to humidity. TV remotes weren't working, tried changing batteries but tv channels would not change

Never have I ever been at a hotel where the room trash is not picked up. This is the first time I am told this is considered full service! No tip was left at check out. The staff came in the room opened the curtains and changed the temp to the room, yet no one bothered to clean up the trash from the trash can. The room was dirty.Noticeable dirty, no vacuumed nor swept any floors. The elevator floors the halls every place you looked at needed a good mop.

Every time I go to Longview to visit my daughter I have stayed at that hotel because I felt good and it is close to everything and I could bring her Yorkie for her to see. I paid $10 for the dog to stay with us and that last time it was more, this last time, I couldn't sleep well, the room was not very clean and the smell of marijuana that was penetrating to our room, I felt like I was suffocating. The room wasn’t clean very well either this time.

Overall stay was fine. Bed was comfortable. Everything in bathroom was in working order (such as water pressure, drains not clogged, stopper on sink functions, etc). Mini fridge does NOT have a freezer, if you are carrying a cooler w ice blocks that need refreezing each night. Room had a pet urine smell when first entered.

Very clean, quiet & comfortable with good bed! Great to exercise in pool too. Good free breakfasts too! Nice front desk & staff.

I have stayed at this property twice…once on 2nd floor, then on 1st floor. If I stay here again, I will insist on 2nd floor. 1st floor is too bright, with sheer curtains right next to parking lot. Also the family of hippos above us stomped around all night.

Very quiet and pleasant. Only concern was the television connection. It was somewhat inconvenient to navigate considering there was not a guide available with operating instructions…

The staff was super Friendly's and nice. The room was Average.. the bed was VERY hard and the ac/ heat unti keeped turnig the heat on heatinge out of the room. Wall are supper thin Aouned like people eunning across the floorall night while it was just people walking xould hear the Neighboring. Rooms t v Location was great.

Room lights were so dim that we couldn’t read.

The room was clean and comfortable. However, the room in which I stayed was located directly above the dining area and the open lobby below. All night I could hear the guests coming in and out and the conversations at the front desk. When they were setting up the breakfast that could also be easily heard. Recommend the hotel just make sure to request a room that is not on the balcony end of the second floor.

Room was just okay, people above were fighting the first night from about 1 am to 2 am and second night from 1:30 am to 3:30 am, I should have called the desk when I talked to them in the morning other quest had complained so not sure why the noise went on so long. I addressed the mold in the bathroom about 4 x 2 inches and they said it comes and goes ? mold does not go away on its own. The staff was nice and the gym was clean and nice. Breakfast was okay and was included with room price, the room could use a few touch ups paint ect. Would probably try a different place next time.I cant blame the fighting on the motel workers but it should have been handled sooner,

We had to call the desk to send someone up to get the tv to work every time we turned it on. They admitted they needed a new tv.

Overall, stay was decent. Clean rooms, good shower, nice area. On the other hand, some of the other guests were inconsiderate and noisy at night. Surprisingly, one of the staff workers who was handling the breakfast area had an extremely bad attitude and cussed out one of the other guests there. It was the first time at a hotel where there was no coffee available for breakfast. Other staff workers were pleasant and helpful.

The hotel is very nice. We’ve stayed there several times. My complaint is with the front desk and check in. The lady working answered the phone just as I walked up and talked for probably 5 minutes and never acknowledged me. When she finally got around to looking up my reservation, she went to the back, out of sight and stayed another 3 or 4 minutes. No explanation. I stood at the desk no less than 10 minutes.

Staff was amazing

Horrible customer service. I wasn’t greeted when I came in after a long drive. I had to sit and wait while the woman behind the desk was on her phone chatting and showing pictures to someone in the lobby having a good ok time. She ignored me completely until I finally interrupted her and asked to please check me in. Even they they acted like it was an inconvenience. Horrible stay. Rude. The whole experience stunk and I’m planning on contacting their corporate office since their manager didn’t seem to care

Front desk staff was very unfriendly and continued to watch a loud video on her phone while I asked a few questions. Room was not clean, the shower leaked and the room smelled of mildew. They don’t clean your room even with a 4-night stay. Had to go get clean towels myself.

I paid next to nothing so I shouldn't really have been disappointed. At check in the front desk person probably represented the hotel as it was. Average/Fair at best. At check out the person at the desk was beyond helpful and friendly and extremely accommodating. We made the same request the night before and that person was neither helpful or accommodating. For less than $100 per night would stay again with low expectations.

It took 30 minutes to get checked in as no one was at the front desk. Finally after searching all three floors and my wife yelling “Is anyone here?” A small boy in his underwear came from a staff area and said he doesn’t know where any adults are. About 10 minutes later the front desk “worker” came in from smoking trying to claim she was helping someone else. The reason I know she was smoking is she smelled strongly of smoke and didn’t even have the sense to hide the perfume she tried to use to cover the scent. I will be calling corporate on this employee tomorrow.

Unfriendly staff

Upon arrival, we had to wait 45 minutes to check in. I was told it was due to an issue with Hotels.com. We had to wait in the lobby while the front desk person had to call and be put on hold to verify my check in. I had the confirmation email and proof of payment. We almost missed our appointment due to having to wait in the lobby, while they fixed a computer issue. The front desk person was friendly though.

My second stay at this hotel will be visiting Longview again real soon and plan on staying at this same hotel. Excellent customer service.

Repetitive attempts to reach front desk when needed unsuccessful. Hot tub advertised online not present. Getting away early on travel made use of "free breakfast" unavailable since service did not open until 7 am

We have stayed at 4 or 5 different La Quinta Inns in the past 6 months and this was the best one we stayed at. The room was really nice, the bathroom was excellent, it was the quietest place we stay at. I mean it was quiet, one place there were barking dogs on the floor we were on, another had construction that started outside at 4 AM, and another had a big truck with it's engine running all night outside our window. And they had the best breakfast of all the places we stayed at.

The beds are very comfortable and they have a very good and hot breakfast.

One of the reasons we picked this hotel was that it had an indoor pool. For our 4 day stay a sign on the pool entrance said temporarily closed. My grandson was so disappointed. When talking to the front desk they had no idea when it might open or alternate swimming pools around town. Everything else about the hotel was good except running out of breakfast food.

Exceptional customer service. Property well kept and clean
