Checkin was easy and friendly. Our room had a wet towel on the floor, and one of the cups opened, as though someone had started there but then asked for another room. The desk clerk offered us another room, but we said we just wanted to turn in the wet towel, and get another glass. She fixed that, and gave us a couple of complimentary bottles of water. The laundry was easy to use, and no problem getting the needed number of quarters from the desk. The shuttle was there and ready at 3:15 AM, and we got to the airport quickly. We missed out on the take-away snack, but I think it wasn't so great anyway. (I heard from someone else checking in that breakfast was great, so sorry to have missed that)

Great airport hotel. Very clean, very quiet. Shuttles to the airport every 15-20 minutes every 24 hours. Exactly what you need to catch an early flight.

Shuttle was fast and convenient. Staff were friendly. Rooms were standard with comfortable beds. Outdoor pool area very nice. Limited food options in the area. Hotel does prove a shuttle at night to local food area. Noise from airport and street was relatively loud, but quieted at night.

The shuttle never showed up at the designated site #13 at the airport. Waited for an hr. Hotel email states every 20 min shuttle service. Then took the taxi. Too many guys there try to get money from you and the taxi wants $50 to go one km to hotel. So had a very bad exprience. And other clients might have the same experience. This was the second time. Happening. Hope the manger of the hotel correct this problem. Thank you.

Typisches Hotel einer US Kette - ohne Charakter. Perfekte Lage zum Flughafen. Großee Pool. Frühstück aus Wegwerfbesteck und -tellern schlimm - auch wenn überall steht, dass selbst das Plastikbesteck recyclebar sei ... Nichts im Hotel, was mit dem Standort Costa Rica zu tun hätte. Ganz schlechtes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis Habe meinen folgenden Aufenthalt sofort storniert. Es gibt ausreichend bessere Alternativen. Flughafentransfer: Ich erhielt am Vortag eine Mail, die Shuttles würden alle 20 Min vom Flughafen abfahren. Wir haben 40 Min. am angegebenen Ort gewartet: Nichts. Erst nach Anruf kam der Shuttle, und dann sehr schnell Warum erhält man nicht eine Mail, dass man anrufen soll ... ???

The pool area was a pleasant surprise - much nicer than the neighbouring Hampton Inn. We were especially delighted with the evening dinner shuttle service - a free shuttle into the dining areas of the city to enjoy much more variety that offered within walking distance - smart idea!

I have stayed at Holiday Inns in the states that were not as nice as this. Our room was clean, comfortable and in good repair. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially given how late we arrived on our flight. They recommended the Dennys next door so we could get a meal after a long travel day. The breakfast next morning was wonderful!

The room was clean and the staff was exceptional. Very close to the airport for convenience. Breakfast was okay. The breakfast staff was exceptional. The only reason that I gave it a good and not excellent is because the air conditioning wasn't high enough and it smelled a little moldy.

The property is close to Danny's and a Mexican chain restaurant that is very good. The wifi in the room is terrible. Good in the lobby. We picked it because of the early morning free shuttle to the airport. Blankets and pillows could be improved. TV had only 2 English stations Fox and Bloomberg. To put movies on the TV from your phone you need an app called Air something which i didn’t have.

Incredibly friendly and helpful staff from the door, to checkin, breakfast and check out. Clean rooms, comfortable beds and pillows and solid AC (though a bit noisy at times). Breakfast included had a wide selection and was good for a continental.

The breakfast was great, with a very helpful staff. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The train stop was right behind the hotel, so we could go into the city to see the museums (highly recommended!) without driving. The front desk staff, with great grace, bailed us out of a problem we created accidentally. Definitely would stay here again.

The property made my wife feel unsafe. The property gave her a room with another person (gentleman) inside. This person invited her inside so he can fulfill his pleasures and it absolutely make me sick knowing how the hotel treated my wife I’m very unhappy with management and how things were handle.

Staff were extremely helpful, polite and courteous, including the buffet person who cut up fresh fruit for us to try, and the groundskeeper/ maintenance person whom provided a brief tour of the herb garden, a very nice touch!

After checking in and going to our room we realized we had been sent to an unmade room. We went back to the lobby and asked for another room- we were given a room with 2 small beds when I had booked and paid for a king room. We are both tall so this was a recipe for a bad nights sleep. I asked if there was any other room available but was told not. I also asked if a room in a quieter location was available but again was told no. We were woken up early by all the guests and noisy children going to get breakfast. The room (113) was on a ridiculously noisy corridor. I expressed my concern about this ahead of time to the lady at check in but she couldn’t care less. Really poorly thought out for an airport hotel. The last thing you want arriving at 1:30am after a day of travel is a poor nights sleep in a small bed.

It was amazing thr rooms and beds so comfortable. The staff especially in the complimentary breakfast the food and fruit were the best, staff and cleaning staff so kind and helpful , these employees, Minor, Esteban y Raul in the breakfast went above and beyond to serve and please the guests! I will definitely pass on to friends and family and for sure return on another trip to Costa Rica!

Best Continental Breakfast we have ever had. Friendly service and great healthy food. Check in was quick and efficient and woman behind the desk very friendly and helpful on getting my family organized to catch the shuttle to the airport. Great experience!

Like...close to ATM (casino) and restaurant (Denny's). Big problem - hotel staff barged into room with only brief knock at 11 p m. As we were getting into bed, allegedly to check if room was clean. Only a brief apology, and Mgr did not follow up with me the next day as requested.

The Holiday Inn Express is incredibly convenient to the airport and many of the car rental agencies. Our flights to Costa Rica tend to land late (and leave early) and the Holiday Inn Express gives us a good opportunity to get a good night sleep before we collect our car and head out on our adventure.

We needed a hotel close to the airport with convenient airport shuttle. This hotel fits the criteria very well. It is only half a mile from the airport and they have very good shuttle service. The service at the hotel is really good . Breakfast was good , the rooms are very comfortable. Overall we liked the hotel

We stayed in two airport hotels at either end of our trip, the Holiday Inn Express and the Fairfield. Both were similarly priced. We much preferred the Fairfield - they have way more airport shuttles (I waited for 30 mins for the HIE shuttle and it never arrived). The Holiday Inn Express does not have a restaurant and so you have to eat at one of two options nearby (Rosti and Dennys), which are both awful. We stayed on the first floor and the noise was really bad. Constantly people shouting in the corridor up to 2am.

This is a very convenient hotel, especially if arriving late at night or very early morning. Free hotel shuttle easy to find and very quick pickup. The free breakfast was especially good, actually the best hotel breakfast we have ever experienced. Lots of fresh tropical fruit and local Costa Rican choices.

Dennys and a local restaurant were right across from the hotel, and the breakfast was wonderful with fresh fruit, hot entrees, yogurt, bagels, etc. A great place to stay near the SJO airport.
