They need bigger dining area, more beds for around pools

This is a great property, has an adult only section, service is great , food was always good. It also is right in the town of Sosua so take advantage and see the town

We liked the idea of having multiple pools and restaurants to choose from. The view of the beach is very beautiful.

Was too many children in the pool, and I can't swimming in there. Even the small pools behinds the bar have a sign adult only, was pack of children. After that, everything was fine.

Was old and in bad conditionr. 2 of the 3 pools i saw was dirty. The snack area was infested with roaches. Maintenance response in the event you have an issue in you room has none existence. Some areas was tapped off with yellow caution tap because it was hazardous to occupy. All this is because of property management failure to bring this place up the standards of a elite resort. So it is what is is. Inlight of all that, the shower water was hot. The room i was in was celan and comfortable. The restaurant in the back of the property had a good selection of food and service was good. The show at night was entertaining. Loved the micheal jackson part. Its a doable property if you can deal with sub standards of abtrue resort! Just my opinion! You should stayband rate it. Some my love it. Some won't!

I love the scenic view at the property. Very beautiful. I would’ve given a 4-5 rate but they have roaches in the room. In addition, upgrades to the rooms are needed. Also, the buffet food wasn’t that good. I was expecting more of a DR authentic experience/flavor and that wasn’t given much.

Food was great. The entertainment staff were friendly and really made us feel welcome. The evening shows were fun and entertaining. The actual property was very nice however the rooms were very tired and run down. Cockroaches were found periodically in our room. Limited amount of room keys per room was very inconvenient. Daily cleaning staff were pleasant and feel they did a good job. A few of our rooms had little to no running water and hence had to share with others for showering. There was no drinking water available and had to request extra bottles daily. The food was excellent. The manager Felix did a good job helping us when one of our family member was injured. The facility only had 1 operating wheelchair and was very difficult to have the medical staff support our needs. Location and views of the coast were magnificent. Maintenance was definitely required in many areas of the hotel.

The ac vent was really dirty so the AC was very poor horrible cus they don't want to spend money to clean the vents never again

It was terrible. Guest service was horrendous, beds dirty, moldy bathrooms, food horrible and lines for everything! I guess you get what you pay for, I learned my lesson!

We stayed here for 3 nights because it was one of the highest rated resorts in the puerto plata area. The grounds are nice but that was the only good thing to say. We aren’t very picky but this resort is was in terrible condition. The first room was dirty, old and had a terrible smell. The tv was super old and tiny and didn’t work. The slider door was broken and toilet didn’t flush. They did agree to change our room and that one was only slightly better. Customer service was not good. Food in the restaurants and buffet was horrible. Felt somewhat safe with all the security had some nice views

I had a wonderful stay except my room was near the high voltage systems and it was noise all around which interrupted my sleep. My room was clean, food was ok and staff services was good..very enjoyable!

Property was in beautiful location but could use some sprucing. Room was average. TV wasn’t working and never fixed even though requested multiple times.

Our shower backed up onto the bathroom floor all the way to the bathroom door. We let them know around 5:45 and around 10:15 I had to go up to the front desk and let them know that we couldn't use the bathroom because the smell was atrocious. When they came to fix it there was human waste and toilet paper all over the shower floor. They had to move us to another room that took 4 hours to cool down.

Listen, this isn’t the ritz Carlton. You get what you pay for. WiFi has to be paid for - doesn’t work in the room or any of the common areas. Food is decent - on par with other all inclusive resorts in this price range. They use absolute bottom shelf alcohol so I went to a liquor store down the road and bought my own. The place needs a facelift but most of the staff is pleasant and the beach and pool are nice. Definitely worth the price paid. Also, it’s a little sketchy when you leave the resort so be aware - I wouldn’t recommend walking around at night.

The rooms were clean and spacious, the staff was a bit overwhelmed with our checking and later on the front desk staff was kind of rude and condescending. They also charged me for Wi-Fi that never worked. The food was the best I’ve had in an all inclusive hotel and the views and amenities as well as the planned group activities were very good. Overall a very affordable family friendly place, but I would not be persuaded to visit again. There is nothing wrong with the place just not my style.

The only issue we had was the condition of our room. It desperately needs updating. The toilet ran constantly and was very noisy. The shower was very old, the tub was chipped and although it was clean it didn’t look clean. Otherwise we had a great time! The staff was friendly and helpful and The views were amazing! Met a lot of great people as well!

Great hotel, but it is a little old and it shows. The sheets were old, the towels were old, with holes on them. The toilet and shower were clogged. The air conditioning was a little loud. Some of the problems were solved with a call, but it took them more than 4 hour for some to get fixed. Despite these things we had a good time, the food was good, the atmosphere was nice, most of the shows were entertaining, and beach was great. I would stay here again. With good management this place would be 5 starts again.

This property could've been wonderful, but there were a few things that just ruined it for us. Overall, the room was substantial and we had no issues (although one member of our group could never get assistance with their clogged shower drain). The food was mostly great, although the service was terrible. We asked one lady for water and she said, "oh, that's a different service". The thing that absolutely ruined the vacation for us was the customer service. It was a disorganized mess, manned by people who were downright rude and inconvenienced by us being there. We had an issue with a reservation and we were told, "Expedia has to reinstate the reservation". I spent an hour working with Expedia (who was fantastic), only to be told by the front office staff, "Our reservation office is now closed". They made me jump through hoops, asserting it was Expedia's fault and giving me random email addresses to send things to. Most of the staff were so dismissive and rude. The people manning the front desk could not make any decisions and had to repeatedly go to a back office to "verify with the manager". One man at the front desk even started cleaning his ears while we were speaking. In addition, the people manning the bars were rude, always too busy to help and would never look anyone in the eye. I imagine this is a management issue, but if customer service is important to you, spare yourself the hassle and go elsewhere.

Algo a mejorar es que estuvimos en un día lluvioso y la habitación no tenía la disponibilidad de sombrillas, de igual forma no teníamos acceso a wifi y no disponía de plancha. The best part of this location is the people! The staff in all departments were fun and happy and smiling and laughing and joking and jovial and helpful and charismatic and sociable and helpful and seemed like they enjoyed being here. Moral of the story is “AND”. They were not enough ands to describe how great the staff was at this location! These were the best views I have ever seen of the ocean. I could not get enough of them.

Everything was great, bathroom really clean, just the hallways needs repair. Also did not like that I was not able to make a reservation at the restaurant, I was told just to confirm when checking in, the info provide it was incorrect and they kept sending me to different places and no one confirm the reservation.

first day experience was really bad, we checked in and I upgraded to VIP edition. the bellman who helped us with the luggage showed us the room, but he was kind a rushing though. he straight dropped the luggage and left as soon as i gave him a tip of $5 but later we found that there was another concierge desk for VIP edition and bellman was suppposed to give us a tour. anyway we were being back and forth with getting information. so later that night we made a reservation in Mexican restaurant, same there waiters were rushing and was not very welcoming. food and service were really bad. food in buffet is ok.. lots of options but low quality.. if you don’t care about taste and health then you will be alright but I wouldn’t go again. the staffs in buffet were more friendlier and were welcoming. the continental restaurant by the pool was good for dinner.. waiter and managers were more professional and friendly.. Ricardo at the concierge was very professional and would listen to us. I forgot the name but the one who took our luggage during our check out was very friendly and genuinely caring.. during our stay he would be smiling everytime we see him.. overall I don’t think I will stay here again. my advise will be not to upgrade and eat outside as there are lots of choices near by

The front desk staff was not that welcoming And hard to reach reception by phone.

Staff were super nice. First room filthy, second room better. After multiple requests- took 2 days to get 2 additional towels, 3 days to get 2 additional pillows. Never had hot (or even warm) water. Place has potential, beautiful location, needs better customer service and overall management.

If I could rate this property a -0 I would. The staff in this resort is extremely rude and unpleasant. Would not recommend. If visiting puerto plata I would highly recommend visiting Senator Resort instead which is 10/10.

I recently stayed at Casa Marina resort and had a fantastic experience! The beach was stunning, the amenities were top-notch, and I loved how close it was to town. I will definitely be coming back in the future.

I loved that is right in town and you can walk to town,restaurants and bars near by .

Overall good experience, food was good, staff was friendly. The only down side and not hotels fault is that it was too crowded. We got an upgrade to an ocean view room. Lots and lots of people. Specially on the weekend.

It's great, near everything. Waking distances from everything. The only downside is that you have to pay extra for Wi-Fi. The rooms are clean. Friendly staff. They don't have shuttle busses to the airport. Taxi is 25USD to go to the airport from the hotel.

The hotel needs to be updated and the food is not so good

Good and inexpensive option. Not too much variety at the buffet. Small private beach but had access to a larger public beach close by. No safe, mini fridge with free soda and water was included daily.

I would be good if they could update the process of making dinner reservation, you can`t do it over the phone, you have to go every morning to make the reservation on the day you want to dine. The food at the Mexican restaurant was terrible. We stayed 4 nights and had to eat at the buffet all the time because there was no other option. The spaces at the rest of the restaurantes were booked. The beer was terrible, sometimes it was ok and some it tasted like vinegar, like it was already spoiled. We went to the spa, the massage was great and then we had paid for a half an hour of jacuzzi and it was cold, the hot water wasnt`t working. There are a lot of things that they could make better, since the beach and place is beautiful!

Hotel turned off their water every day for hours in the morning till hours after lunch, in the entire property. You could not flush or wash your hands anywhere. The smell was terrible, especially in the buffet where many people used the bathroom with no water. They fumigated our room during our stay. My family got food poisoning. We paid for WiFi which was still terrible, and you had to wait online every day for 40 minutes to make a dinner reservation, otherwise you had to eat in the buffet (which was small and limited) every night.

Amazing! We only stayed one night. Service was great. The food even though it wasn’t like a huge options, but the taste was delicious. Overall its a very good resort for the price.

Nothing spectacular 3 restaurants only could eat at the buffet the drinks was terrible I stayed for six days and only drank two drinks Norton shelf liquor

El lugar es muy bonito y una playa preciosa y espectacular. Los bares estab un poco distantes de las zonas de piscina. El servicio del snack bar muy limitado y trato poco amable de algunas de las personas que atienden en el lugar. Si estas en la playa o piscina, no puedes llevarle nada a tus hijos o acompañantes porque todo debe ser consumido internamente y con horarios establecidos. En otros hoteles esto es permitido y con horarios mas extendidos.
