Amazing staff and a great family vibe without being juvenile. The property is the throwback to the mid-century, but it's in excellent condition and a haven from the busyness outside. They're generous with amenities and parking was simple. Loved it!

The rooms were clean, the staff was super friendly and helpful, and lots of free snacks, coffee, water/sparkling, pop, ice cream and basic breakfast items. There are a lot of stairs, and the ones by the pool area became slippery when it rained. Biggest issue is that the walls are paper thin - could hear our neighbors conversations and bathroom noises 😦. Bring earplugs and do not get room 212.

“Cheap and Cheerful” is how I would sum up The Magic Castle Hotel. Each of the staff I encountered were friendly, helpful, and professional. The amenities are great, especially for families (heated pool, popsicle hotline, soft serve ice cream machine, free endless snacks, fountain soda/ice machine, free Wi-Fi, continental breakfast, free detergent on-site laundry, and outdoor movies). The mini bar was stocked for a good time (liquor/beer/pre-mixed cocktails) with reasonable prices! There were also several easy DoorDash-able restaurant suggestions provided at check-in. Parking is limited, so the garage can fill up. I’m not sure what the alternative parking arrangement could be. There were a couple of very narrow spots that could accommodate a Mini or Prius-sized vehicle, but not a regular sedan or SUV, FYI. The property felt secure, requiring key cards to enter the garage or lobby. The room had everything one needs for a comfortable stay, but it’s best suited for the sleep shower crowd. If you’re into hotel-style lounging, it’s probably not ideal. (Although, the robes and towels were soft and comfy.) The property is old, the rooms are small, and there isn’t a lot of natural light. The rooms and property are kept up just fine, but they show their age. If I ever need to stay in the Hollywood area again, I’ll definitely book here without hesitation.

We travelled with a large group of mostly teens and booked two rooms. At first glance of the building facade, I wasn't expecting much to experience from the hotel. But from the moment we stepped into the Lobby with our chaotic group of teens, we were greeted by very kind staff members who excitedly checked us in and gave us a quick rundown of the perks of the hotel. From 24/7 pool hours, to free fountain drinks, popsicles, snacks & 24/7 access to it's free laundry facility. It was the perfect place for us. The central courtyard had lots of space for our teens to hang out and relax. The hotel is on a quiet street but just down the road and a quick walk away from the Hollywood walk of fame and many iconic locations in Hollywood including a Metro station which we took to Universal Studios.

Great staff. They remembered everyone by name. Helpful with luggage. Remember to request 1st floor if disabled. There are stairs from parking lot and all floors. There is a small elevator on the outside entrance to get you up and down those stairs to the lobby and the rest of the resort. Free snacks, ice cream, non alcolholic drinks, 24 hot heated pool, popcicle hotline and breakfast were wonderful amenities.

This property is unique in that its right next to the Magic Castle. It is an older property so if you are strictly 5 star hotel person it might not be a satisfying experience but for my trip up to see a band it worked great! Staff was friendly and nice and parking was convenient which can be a hassle in that area.

The staff, the magicians, the snack options, pool side popsicles are awesome, 5 stars. The motel itself was a tad dated and minor things, overall the room seemed clean. Perfect for walking over to the dinner and show at the Castle, This is a fun one night stay, with kids going to universal or for couples going next door to the castle. Parking is tight, if you have a big suv or truck. You’ll have to park on the outside next to a hedge.

Alex was incredible and was very attentive and helpful. He gave us a ride up the hill to the magic castle so we wouldn’t have to walk in our high heels. The atmosphere was fun and the popsicle phone and goodies are amazing. The room was big but dirty. I had a big black hair in my bed when I got in. The place is old and has signs of wear but all in all good time and perfect location.

This is n a convenient location and the staff is very nice. The rooms are large and beds are comfortable.However, the bathroom was runned down, shower barely a drizzle and filled with mold and in need of renovation. We couldn’t wash our hair the whole vacation because the shower head and pressure was too poor. It is extremely loud with cars literally drag racing on the street outside at night and traffic sounds all night. The views out the windows were of runned down fences and shacks. Stairs to room are narrow and smelled like urine. Lighting is poor with many bulbs burned out. Overall it is like staying at an old, stark apartment with a dirty bathroom you don’t really want to use.

We love Magic Castle and this was our second stay after honeymooning here in 2012. Staff are amazingly friendly and the free drinks, ice cream and snacks are all great. We’d recommend staying here for a few nights. You must visit Yamashiro up the hill behind the hotel. The only downside is the standard of furniture. A few pieces, like a coffee table were very worn to the point where the room would look nicer without it. The suite we had was spacious. Definitely stay here if you love excellent service.

My husband most accurately described it as "a kids all-inclusive hotel." We love, love, loved the free snacks, all you can eat soft serve and the popsicle hotline. As a family of 5, we were really grateful for the spacious apartment style setup. It was super convenient and easy for our trip to Universal Studios. More than anything, the staff was SO WONDERFUL. Truly above and beyond, top-notch customer service.

I liked the hotel friendliness and amenities offered. The rooms were ok but my main complaint is the extra bed (pullout sofa) is so uncomfortable - you can feel the wires the mattress is so thin/worn. Big deal for families traveling with larger group that need an extra bed. I would not stay again if I need the extra bed.

Great older hotel/motel in the middle of Hollywood. The pool is nice and surrounded by the hotel rooms, some with balconies. We were on the first floor and it was super loud because the people above us were apparently wrestling or doing gymnastics for most of the night and there was a great deal of street noise BUT the location is great for walking to many different tourist attractions including the Hollywood bowl. The staff were spectacular!!! Loved all the free snacks and ease of check in/out. The continental breakfast was also a plus. Definitely would stay here again, maybe on the top floor though.

My only complaint about this hotel is the room we checked into was very ran down. Floors were scratched up walls were dirty and the sink was stopped up. They knew the sink was stopped up because a plumber showed up while we were there he was unable to fix the sink so we were moved to the exact same make and model room and it was an excellent condition. So why did you give us the ran down room from the start. Other than that customer service amenities the staff the people the comfort was the best I've ever experienced in my 47 years of life. From Seattle to California to Las Vegas this is the best hotel I ever stayed at I just wish they would have gave us the nicer room from the beginning.

What makes this hotel five star is undoubtedly the staff. They couldn't do enough to help and always with a smile. I was especially grateful to the reception staff. Although I arrived safely at LA Airport, my 2 suitcases did not, and the info given to me at the airport would not give me access to trace them. The staff made phone calls for me and thankfully they turned up 24 hours later just in time for me to get my taxi to my cruise ship. Without my suitcases I would have had to return home. Another great thing about this hotel is the free snacks available 24 hours and ice cream available all day from 10.00am. The included continental breakfast was plentiful. Although my room did not have a balcony (I was only staying 2 nights) there were plenty of rooms that did. The swimming pool is open 24 hours and was being much enjoyed by children and adults. I would certainly use it again if I was staying in LA

My husband most accurately described it as "a kids all-inclusive hotel." We love, love, loved the free snacks, all you can eat soft serve and the popsicle hotline. As a family of 5, we were really grateful for the spacious apartment style setup. It was super convenient and easy for our trip to Universal Studios. More than anything, the staff was SO WONDERFUL. Truly above and beyond, top-notch customer service.

You MUST stay at this hotel if you want to stay in Hollywood especially with a family. It came highly recommended from friends and we booked it immediately without even doing our usual exhaustive research. In doing this, we made the greatest and easiest travel decision we’ve ever made. The personal greeting we received by manager Darren as we checked in was both calming and a wonderful indication of the week we were about to experience. The customer was the very first priority of all staff and they made us feel special, relaxed, cared for, safe, overly provided for and “at home”. The service, and how it was so warmly provided by all staff, was far above and beyond any hotel that we have ever stayed at. Complimentary continental breakfast, and unlimited all day soft / hot drinks, ice cream machine and full size snacks was an amazing feature of this hotel. This is a great place for families. My kids were so impressed with all of the free snacks and the friendly service. My son said that I couldn’t have picked a better place for us to stay. We had an event at the Hollywood Bowl, and it was an easy walk from the property. I wish more places would offer perks like Magic Castle. We will definitely stay there again. We loved our large apartment that slept 5.

I loved this hotel. The moment we walked in after a lengthy flight from Australia the staff were so friendly and made us feel so welcome with their fantastic service. We were given pamphlets of information which was so so helpful. They gave us places to eat, maps and attractions nearby, and tours they recommended. Prime location. I would definitely stay again.

This property is unique in that its right next to the Magic Castle. It is an older property so if you are strictly 5 star hotel person it might not be a satisfying experience but for my trip up to see a band it worked great! Staff was friendly and nice and parking was convenient which can be a hassle in that area.

The staff is super-friendly. All of the perks are real; there is a soda machine and a soft-serve machine and the front desk is happy to hand you candy or snacks whenever you ask. There are free warm pastries every morning. They did our laundry and gave it back to us with a sprig of lavender. The pool is heated so swimming is fun even if the weather isn't very warm. They have a bunch of pool toys for your kids to play with. Our room was huge, and the bed was comfortable. It's an easy stroll down to Hollywood Boulevard from the hotel.

“Cheap and Cheerful” is how I would sum up The Magic Castle Hotel. Each of the staff I encountered were friendly, helpful, and professional. The amenities are great, especially for families (heated pool, popsicle hotline, soft serve ice cream machine, free endless snacks, fountain soda/ice machine, free Wi-Fi, continental breakfast, free detergent on-site laundry, and outdoor movies). The mini bar was stocked for a good time (liquor/beer/pre-mixed cocktails) with reasonable prices! There were also several easy DoorDash-able restaurant suggestions provided at check-in. Parking is limited, so the garage can fill up. I’m not sure what the alternative parking arrangement could be. There were a couple of very narrow spots that could accommodate a Mini or Prius-sized vehicle, but not a regular sedan or SUV, FYI. The property felt secure, requiring key cards to enter the garage or lobby. The room had everything one needs for a comfortable stay, but it’s best suited for the sleep shower crowd. If you’re into hotel-style lounging, it’s probably not ideal. (Although, the robes and towels were soft and comfy.) The property is old, the rooms are small, and there isn’t a lot of natural light. Don’t know when they property was built, but it hasn’t been updated since. Everything in the place is tenuously being held together by what seems silicone or glue, but only just. No lights in the room other than lamps. The breakfast was ordinary, at least heat the pastries to get rid of their stale taste. Someone commented that the outside looks like a crack house. I can’t disagree. They really should do something to make the outside look more inviting. They make up for it though with their friendly service and freebies. Soft serve ice cream, popsicle hot line, candy, snacks and the continental breakfast. Room was big and clean. Just old. We would have stayed there again but they had really raised their price for the next time we were coming for a concert. The only bummer was that I realized shortly after we left that I had forgot my swim suit hanging on the shower rod. It never made it to the lost and found.

The hotel is quite old, but it has been exceptionally well maintained and doesn't feel dated. The pool area has a whimsical and fun atmosphere. We didn't use the pool, but the breakfast was excellent. The staff were very helpful, and we felt warmly welcomed upon arrival. There were also plenty of complimentary extras, which was a lovely touch.
