Easy to get to. Close enough to walk to the shops, bars & restaurants. Bonus of having a small carpark. Clean & tidy. The lady that gave us the key was very helpful & informative.

Great little last minute get away. Great location with free parking. Easy self check in. Owner was so friendly & very helpful. Highly recommend

We had a lovely stay at the White Lodge Hotel. The hosts were very accommodating and when we had a few parking issues (due to the car park being quite small) the host offered lifts. In the morning we lost our car keys and the host helped search the streets for them and came to the police station to see if theyd been handed in! He offered for us to stay there as long as we needed while we sorted it.

Great location and price, should have asked for a room on a lower floor as I have trouble with stairs, room was a little cramped but had everything you need

The hotel is conveniently located but there was no parking due to on going works. The room is tired, the tv at a peculiar angle to the bed so difficult to watch. The remote control for the tv didn’t match the tv. The room was right at the top of the building after some difficult and steep stairs.

We were in Room 9 at the very top of 3 floors (no lift) this room is tiny, on entering the room you go down 5 steps to a double bed pushed up against the wall. There is a tiny wardrobe at the bottom of the bed & a very small sink in the corner, there is virtually no room at the side of the bed. The bathroom has a shower & toilet you have to dry yourself at the side of the bed as there is no room when stepping out of the shower because the toilet almost touches the shower door. There is no shelving in the bathroom just a towel rail the sink, next to the bed is too small to rest toothbrushes on, there is no shelf or rail for a hand towel. There is no fan in the room & the Iron/Ironing board are well used with the Iron having a burnt brown plate. The room itself appeared clean we had booked for 2 nights but checked out after one, the host was on site & said to my husband he wasn't surprised as when he saw we had 2 small cases he knew the room would be too small. Maybe this information should have been available at the time of booking. We were booked in for 2 nights but were not offered a refund for only staying the one night, I know the saying "you get what you pay for" but I wouldnt recommend this property even if the price was reduced.

No on site parking on saturday evening. Booked room 5 which was a deluxe room but ended up in room 8 which was mich smaller.

Hotel/Guest House was nice enough and bed really comfortable, but the construction site adjacent began work at 8am - banging, hammering, drilling and loud music. The hotel must’ve been aware of this as the construction workers were using their car park. I feel that we should’ve been made aware of this beforehand and given us the opportunity to choose somewhere else.

As soon as I arrived in the hotel car park, one of the hosts came out to ask why I was parking there (my guess is they have a lot of people trying to park who don’t stay there), he then took my name, told me to move my car because they were fully booked for the night. I moved as per his request, he then said reverse more to which I said how do you expect me to get my things out the boot. It was all a bit much especially when there was plenty of space for others to get in (When I got back from the town and left the same cars were parked there so not sure why he made a fuss, if they don’t want people to park in certain parts of the car park put a sign there). His whole approach was not very welcoming. Once I finally got inside his wife seemed nice, she explained where my room is, what to do, etc. but felt the start of the experience was ruined by her interrogating husband. I made my way up to room 9 and the smell was horrible. The window was left open which had let several bugs and moths in. The room was so small the only standing space was taken up by my suitcase. I went out to grab food to watch the sunset which didn’t happen, the sunset was blocked by a hill in the lake. Went to three pubs that stopped serving food at approximately 20:00, I did find one eventually. The bed was uncomfortable and was kept up by the noise of cars and people walking past. It was also very cold but they had provided a heater. The bathroom was tiny and had hair in the shower and a dead bug on the

Basic, stained towel, 3 x 3 space in room for 2 at that price is too much.

Not clean no heating just a small electric fire it was minus 2 and freezing in the room bed linen did not look clean and a very very thin quilt cover how this place could be 4 stars is a joke were not offered breakfast and customer service was none existant no water no suger sanitary towel box empty i would rate this establishment 2 stars we paid £100 for this worth £50 at most

Room as shown on photograph. Only issue we had was with the door, very difficult to open/lock. Room was clean overall but the carpets had a few stains on them. Bed was comfy and shower powerful. Nice place for a short stay near the lake.

Lovely place to stay and very friendly owner's. They allowed us to check in earlier and advised us of popular places to visit during our stay. The room was lovely and the cleanliness was excellent. Location was great as well. Would definitely go back.

Lovely hotel and lovely friendly owners who even greeted us on arrival . Lovely location however felt the place itself was a bit tired looking …. No nice toiletries and all the coffee sachets had sugar in . We couldn’t see the stunning view due to excess condensation to the inside of the window. There was no bath plug either .

Room was very small but adequate for our 2 night stay. The shower tray kept filling up with water which was very annoying. The room wasn't cleaned for our 2nd night so had to use wet towels.See older reviews ,shower issue has been ongoing. Would stay again but ask for a different room. Location and parking was great.

Property smelt damp throughout, with mold around the window. Room was far smaller than the description with risk of falling out of window.

Parking was on site,walking distance into bowness and local amenities. Collection of keys straight forward. Accommodation was very clean and true to the discretion. Central very pleased with whole of visit. Would definitely stay again and recommend to friends

Lovely stay clean and convenient close to amenities and both Bowness and Windermere and is walkable . The room was very small but for price and lotion fair . Dont book if you struggle with stairs . The shower could do with updating as the door didn’t close and buttons fall off and shower head Loose.

The room looked very different to the room in the booking photo, a lot smaller, and the shower was very compact, however the room was clean and tidy and ideal just to get our heads down for the night. No dealings with the staff as didn’t see anyone.

First time at the white lodge, we stayed in room 3 lovely spacious room , the bed was so comfy the room very clean, even had a sofa in , for the price was excellent, only stayed 1 night but would book again , very close to the shops , plenty of walking done , very pleased with our stay .

Let’s just say it’s a good job we didn’t take the cat, because we couldn’t have swung it round. Compact is the term I would use, like a caravan.

Additionally great bus links although we chose to drive which was equally convenient as there was onsite parking. You can take boat trip a 15/20 min walk away. Shower is basic but the hotel room was stunning and a really comfy bed with smart tv. Overall extremely happy and would stay again :)

Dont stay in room 9 its a cupboard with a bed its far to small to even be considered as a room

I was greeted by Jenny when I arrived at the hotel. She was very polite and friendly even though I did not follow the check-in guidelines which was to call the property 24-hours prior to arrival. On top of that I arrived to the property later than I expected due to never disappointing train travel delays. To my surprise, I was even given a room upgrade as I booked four nights. 😉 The room was clean, and neatly made. It had a view of the big lake which was bonus. Long story short, I would recommend staying here. The property is also a stones throw to some good restaurants, pubs, post office, bus access points, and of course the Bowness Pier.

They sold me room 3 which was advertised as a room with a king size bed, with a bay window, sofa etc. just a generally nice looking room. The guy who checked us took payment for the room and gave us our keys. When we got to our room it was a small double bed, the room was small, dated, ripped bath towels, ripped wallpaper. When I asked to be put in the correct room I was told it was unavailable and his son lives in that room. Apparently it was Expedia’s fault and not there’s even though I tried to say I booked through hotels.com He said he’d refund me but only on his terms of waiting 5 hours for his wife to come home. It escalated in me calling the police and he was gesturing an offensive sign to me. Lots of videos to follow of the room and the owner so show how disgusting this place is. Don’t ever stay here it’s awful and scammers.

Really nice stay. After booking an extra night on a whim we found a beautiful room at a really reasonable cost. Decor is lovely and the host, Jennifer was very friendly; greeting us at the door and upgrading our room. We will definitely be coming back; hopefully sooner rather than later.

Central and comfortable, functional rooms, easy check in and check out experience. Slightly struggled to get in touch with the property ahead of time.

Arrived at the property and found ample space to park the car. We were greeted by Jenny the owner and she gave us the keys to our room explaining which key was for the propertys front door and which was our room door key. We found our room to be well presented and clean and the room had lovely view of Windermere being on the top floor. The Lodge was within walking distance for all the amenities like shops restaurants etc. Overall our stay was great and we would recommend the property for anybody wanting a shortbreak in the Lakes

Really convenient location and free parking. Made a good spot for an overnight stop as we were out for a meal. The room was small and fairly basic but not much of an issue as we were only sleeping there.

Had a great time, owners friendly and welcoming. Only a few minutes walk from lake.

Advertised on internet as having room service and full english breakfast. No. Central heating . No. Wouldn't have booked it had we known. Definitely not worth the money we paid for two nights. We would have left after first night but monies had already been taken off our bank account and we let it go more fool us.

Close to amenities Great bed fab sleep . Room very clean but a bit attention to detail needed as not like on photos . Paint on wall paper and no plug in the bath which is oversized for area and door bumped bath every time went to toilet but shower available . Bit of a chew on going out to get breakfast on a morning as don't provide any . A top up of milk for morning tea would of been appreciated .

basicly to not bore you keys for front door and room stuffed in an unlocked safe box with combination. no dreakfast though says on dite it is available no running hot water in sink to was hands after using loo no plug for bath tub was told we cant use baths . park close to road as if you park further in you wont get out in morning without waking up rooms to move car . only booked hotel in first place because it had a bath and was close to town.

At the moment there are building works ongoing, but I'm sure that will be short lived. A little confusion around the breakfast situation, I read on Expedia that you can book a breakfast that will be served in a hamper to your room, when we mentioned this to the guy at check in, he told us that they haven't provided that service for years! Only to read on the guest information sheet supplied in the room that you can book a breakfast that will be provided in a hamper to your room!!!! This mis information needs sorted to avoid further confusion for guests. Other than that we had a great stay, location is great, parking was no problem. Could do with some way of providing further milk and sugars for the tea and coffee making.
