The spa needs to be updated

We loved the spa area and all it offered. Great entertainment nightly and the food options was great. The bars do make their drinks a little strong and we asked to ease up on the alcohol just a little. Overall, it was a great experience and we will definitely do it again.

The different pools need some attention to maintenance. A number of tiles are coming off and are starting to become noticeable. The butler service did not always go smoothly since the different shifts did not always transfer formation to the next shift. I will say that when brought to there attention, Iberostar did make it right with us. All in all a great place with a friendly staff that is always engaging with guests.

The property is very visually appealing and clean. Even though JOIA itself was somewhat small “small” having access to the other two adjoining properties made up for that. Of the three, JOIA to us had the nicest beach as even though small it had way less of the plagued seaweed that is sweeping across the Caribbean. Staff were courteous and helpful. The Iberostar app needs a little work but overall it added a layer of convenience and organization to our stay. Events were listed clearly on app and throughout the properties. Last point is on the food. Overall, to us nothing was mind blowingly delicious but most everything was decent. Buffets had good selections and offered some traditional foods to Jamaica as well. Definitely would visit again sometime.

Great property, restaurants, food, atmosphere were fantastic. It is an older property and some things need updating. The Spa pool/baths area is dated and some things needed repairs/replacement. If the Spa isn’t your thing then you have nothing to worry about. Rooms are large, clean and the Butler Service is outstanding! Owen and Orain were our Butlers and they went way above and beyond for us. Always having something special in our room when we returned. Would highly recommend building 5 floor 2 where they were working. Will be going back because of them! Beach area pools and bars are all conveniently located. Rum tasting with Michele at JOIA was also outstanding! Very knowledgeable and he took the time to explain the history of Rum and all its complexities. We’ve gained a newfound appreciation for Rum now. Recommendation to the resort would be to update Joia’s theatre entertainment but that’s a minor recommendation.

Gorgeous property! Food was excellent and the beach was beautiful! Only complaint was that I slipped and fell by the pool and messed up my knee. Why do builders always think it’s a good idea to put marble around a swimming pool??? And a swimming pool with a bar at that?? They’re not the only resort that does this - they all do it - but you’re just asking for a lawsuit if you ask me.

This is a very well-kept property and designed very nicely. The beach area has plenty of loungers and Palapas. There are servers who will bring you drinks while you were on the beach. The pool area is magnificent with a wonderful pool bar as well.

The pool needs some maintenance. The tiles were missing and outdated. Half of the staff was rude and seemed annoyed when you ordered food or drinks.

The service was great everywhere. Did not have one bad thing to eat. The pools were very clean/ well kept. The entertainment was very good quality.

The Staff was great, but our room smelled terribly of mold as well as other areas. Being in the Grand I would have expected more. I wish the staff would have been around more often when hanging out around the pool or at the bar. Need better notification of activities that are happening. The breakfast and lunch buffets were maybe a 6/10 items were often out and not refilled in a timely manner. The Surf and Turf as well as the Hibachi was fantastic. Again the staff all were very friendly but would have expected the room and the hotel to be in better condition for the cost. Overall a good experience though.

The property itself was beautiful. Check-in was wonderful with a private butler escort to our room and welcome drinks upon arrival. Our room could have been cleaner. It could have used a good dusting and some attention to detail in the bathroom.

My husband and I just dumped $894 into the ocean. The entrance to the hotel speaks volume. It was not a welcome area. It was mentioned online that this hotel was updated. The bedroom has a horrible smell. I wore mask to sleep. The smell was intoxicating - it is this moldy, musky smell. One of the housekeepers left some room scent to help with the odor. Thanks to her. However I still had to wear mask. We could see plastic bottle and a beer bottle from our porch. The food was horrible. There were not many people at the hotel. We were just coming from another hotel where it was buzzing with people. It is that bad that an employee wants to take a family member to a weekend getaway at a different hotel. I wish I could get my money back. I could not wait to check out and that's exactly what I communicated to the concierge.

The Iberostar Grand is a solid 4star resort. Service: Amazing! Everyone was very attentive and. pleasant. Rooms: The common areas are beautiful and in great shape. The rooms are pretty bad and in need of maintenance (generally outdated and with mold throughout the bathrooms). Food: As long as you have reasonable expectations, the food is very good. Breakfast + Lunch buffets are extensive and fresh. There's also a beach grill. We liked the French restaurant best. Skip the Italian restaurant. Spa: Highly recommend. We did a couples massage that was worth the money. The therapists listened to our requests and exceeded expectations. Other Notes: - They did a lot of upselling, which was tiresome. - This is a pretty lively resort with lots of games and music. You can find quiet areas if preferred too. - There was plenty of beach seating. The water wasn't very clear though. - They no longer offer free transport to / from airport so I recommend using a 3rd party (we used TCJ).

Loved this resort the staff was so friendly and nice always available to help the suites was beautiful and clean will be back.

Great service! My only critique is that the carpeting has a strong mildew-like scent that we could smell from our room and also rooms were pretty humid despite using AC and such. Otherwise great place to getaway with wonderful and attentive service.

Good experience at this resort. The food options were good except for the buffet. The food offered pool side, the steak, and hibachi restaurants, the day of the beach barbecue was delicious (especially the beach barbecue and at the Jamaican restaurant off the beach. Room service was even delicious! The staff were very helpful and accommodating! They made for me celebrating my birthday with my family a very memorable occasion. Pros: Food options, the drinks alcohol/ non-alcohol were good, beach is clean, has plenty of chairs, beds and umbrellas. Entertainment was good. Staff accommodating and very nice. Views from resort are beautiful. Our daughter had a pool view that was beautiful and we had an ocean front that was also beautiful. Cons: Our initial ocean front room was on the 4th floor where the balcony doesn’t have a roof that completely covers it. It’s the rainy season so it was hard to enjoy the balcony due to the furniture being wet. However, the resort did accommodate us and moved us to the 3rd floor where the balcony was covered and we were able to enjoy the balcony. We truly appreciated that! The snacks in the room are not individually wrapped and are in reusable containers that are refilled. I am all for preservation for the eco system by not having excessive waste, however, I am curious how often and how these containers are cleaned and filled. Sterilized reusable water bottles are given for you to drink. Bring your own water bottle to fill at watering stations.

I didn't like that it was old and you could tell. The staff was great though. There weren't many activities which was a shame. I also didn't like that there was a lot of construction, one elevator was down the whole time and one of the days, both elevators were down so we had to use stairs and our room was on the top floor. Also a shame that their restaurants fill out so fast, hard to get in. Their french restaurant didn't have the lamb rack which is my favorite dish, another shame. They need more sweets/cakes too, those options were very limited.

Overall the best all inclusive I’ve been to. By far the best food options and restaurants, A+, drinks were good as well. We went during their offseason and we think the entertainment wasn’t as great for that reason. Other reviews said the entertainment was excellent. The beds were very firm. My group of 6 all complained about the rock hard beds. Not to nit pick, but thats really the only real negative we encountered. This is a resort my group of 6 said we would all come back to.

Staff was great, food was great, loved the cabanas that were available to all, beach was nice. Room was large and well appointed. Decor was a tad dated but overall I would go back in an instant!

The staff was very kind and resource full the bartender Travis at the pool bar was great. The only thing I did not like was the room did not get cold enough for me..

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The room and property were great! We took full advantage of the spa amenities and were very satisfied. Our butlers, Rohan, Gary, and Owen, were amazing. We weren't expecting to even have butlers. The room, balcony, and view were gorgeous and so relaxing. We loved our time here!

The resort was beautifully maintained, and the service was top tier! Every request was handled quickly and efficiently. The food at the restaurants was delicious. I enjoyed the fact that the resort was not overly crowded, and we were able to easily get seats at the pool and beach each day. The bathrooms in the rooms could stand to be updated, but were otherwise clean and functional. A great resort if you are looking for quiet relaxation, we would definitely return!

This was our second stay this year. We didn’t hesitate to go back. At check-in, Donnae remembered us and even gave us an upgraded room. After checking us in, she walked us to our room making us feel welcome and completely at home. Then, of course, we made our way down to the pool bar where Shevaughn and Travis remembered us as well. Those two really know how to make a good time as well as being prompt with service. I highly recommend this resort. We may very well go a third time before the year’s end.

I want to tell you how horrible it was so you will never want to go, because I want to keep this gem all to myself! The moment you exit the vehicle you are treated like family. From the front desk to the restroom attendant’s. The food, the music, the drinks, the people. All Amazing and Beautiful from the inside out. So in short I do NOT recommend you go to JOIA Rosehall. I want to keep it and all if it’s beauty to myself!

Only issue was room service literally never picked up the phone on multiple nights and front desk did nothing to help

I would not consider this 5 star. Although the property is beautiful, clean, well maintained grounds and staff is amazing, the food needs work. Quality of the good is very inconsistent. Some days it's excellent, some days overcooked, and that goes for all restaurants and room service. Not a big fan of how the pressure you into meeting with their representatives to try to talk you into their Interstate membership (basically like a time share presentations). Our concierge guilted us into saying yes for accepting the presentation and was dishonest on the whole process which was supposed to take place, once we found out the truth on the presentation we backed out at the last minute. This really left a part of our overall experience disappointing.

It was definitely a 10/10. Customer service was exceptional! Staff went above and beyond to ensure my stay was awesome! Will definitely be going back, met some great people, and the food was on point every time!

Butlers, housekeeping and overall staff…AMAZIING!

This resort has both good and bad sides. The property itself is beautiful – the pools are amazing, the beach is nice (though not the best), and the restaurants serve good food. However, the service was very disappointing and absolutely not what you expect from a 5-star resort. Only about 15–20% of the staff were attentive and polite; the majority were slow, unhelpful, and sometimes outright rude, even when asking for something basic like water. Service in the restaurants, bars, and buffet was extremely slow. One restaurant requires reservations, but in the others, we waited up to an hour just to be seated. Even at breakfast, we had to wait to be seated, and the hostess was often missing from her station. Another big issue is that they don’t provide bottled water or straws anywhere on the property. For a luxury resort, this is unacceptable. Housekeeping and room service were also very poor. Our room was not clean upon arrival, and throughout our stay service remained slow and unfriendly. The steakhouse was the worst experience – the hostess (Tasha) and her manager were unprofessional. Despite having a confirmed reservation from the feedback department, we were told we didn’t have one and were placed on a waiting list. This felt dishonest and was by far the worst service I’ve ever experienced at a resort. Overall, the management urgently needs to take action. The location and facilities are beautiful, but the lack of proper service, bottled water, and basic hospitality stan

The room key/ wrist band made of wood did not work properly and was inconvenient to go to front desk to fix it- three times. The dining wait staff were rude on several occasions in serval dining areas.

The resort is stunning and impeccably maintained, with its location just a 25-minute drive from the airport. The entire staff—ranging from registration and concierge to waiters and housekeeping—exceeds expectations. They are all courteous and proficient in English. There are numerous dining options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, along with a delightful café area. I highly recommend this resort; your money is well spent on the all-inclusive package.

We just stayed at this resort March 2025. Food and beverages were delicious which can be so hard to find in an all inclusive. Nice welcome drinks when we arrived. Friendly staff. Cute cafe with great morning coffee and espresso. Located right on the ocean, access to all hotels if you stay at the Joia.

Staff was generally excellent and place was very clean. Was definitely one of the smaller resorts I’ve been to so we were limited in activities and food options but our stay was shorter so not the biggest concern. Things were great until our second to last day when maintenance thought it would be a good idea to spray paint the room right next door to us with no notice while we were in our swim out pool and clouds of spray paint was coming right out at us even though they seen us out there before they even started. Made it worse is that we had one of those connecting room doors and fumes just poured into the room. Room was full of heavy paint fumes for rest of our stay. We asked for a room swap and was not accommodated even though there was plenty of vacancy. We had to stuff the bottom of the doors with wet towels and leave the balcony door open with the fans running to make it remotely tolerable but that meant sacrificing a/c. Needless to say last night was horrible! Super poor planning when we were leaving next day and that work couldve be done upon our check out. I also was not crazy about the constant harassment from the local drug dealers everytime I stepped on the beach. I can even respect the first solicitation but once I tell you no I expect to be left alone. I can understand that I’m in a different part of the world and maybe this is not a big dealover there but most resorts do a better job controlling the beach with that sort of stuff and this place didn’t even try.

I chose this property due to the convenience of the beach. I wanted to be able to walk right to the beach and get in the water without swim shoes (beach is clean, no rocks and water is clear). I enjoyed this property as its adults only, but you have the option to use the other connected properties amenities which are family friendly. So, you get 3 resorts for 1. The staff is ok. Food is ok. Rooms are beautiful. Overall, I enjoyed my stay.

The resort is beautiful, the staff are very friendly and helpful. The only things we did not like were the fact that right when you check in they want you to go on a tour and they try to talk you into buying some sort of timeshare into the hotel chain. You can’t enjoy the beach because marijuana dealers are all over the beach and they won’t stop bugging you they were even sitting on some of the lawn chairs the hotel had out there and swinging on the swing that was supposed to be for the guests. The food was not good. The only food we enjoyed was the breakfast buffet in the morning.

If you are on the fence…book it now. This place is paradise and I never wanted to leave. Best vacation I had in a long time. Food is 5 star, staff are so pleasant and accommodating. Everywhere was spotless.

Loved the food and the hospitality from the staff was excellent. Room was great with excellent service from Butler and cleaning staff. Did not like the fact that Jamaican food restaurant evening dining options were not available Mon and Tues. Expected Jamaican food to be primary since we’re in Jamaica. Breakfast and lunch dining options were excellent with all my favorite Jamaican dishes.

Some foods request weren’t available. One day I never received my order poolside. They don’t tell you this until you receive the food. The beds were very comfortable. I did have to call twice throughout my stay to receive hand towels after they had service the room. Some of the staff for breakfast was rude. It took 40 minutes to receive room service. Dinner at Port Maria was a tragic. I asked the waitress for water and never received it, after mentioning it to her twice.

Waited to be seated at restaurant for an hour and after being seated found that almost half of the menu is not available.

We decided to spend New Years on an island and chose the Iberostar Grand at Rosehall from browing You Tube. It was an excellent choice. The breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets offered a rich variety of foods that made it hard to keep our diets as we found out when we returned home. The staff was friendly and extremely helpful. We met lots of interesting people with similar interests. Our room was spic and span. The grounds were inviting. The manager bent over backwards to help us when we had a small problem. I would recommend this hotel highly to anyone who wishes a carefree, delightful respite.

So many wonderful things about this resort. Check-in was quick and seamless, we arrived before our check-in time, we were given wrist bands to enjoy the resort until our room was ready. They have a change room if you need it. Everything was clean and fresh. Activities were plentiful whenever you needed them. Staff was quick to help. Food was always stocked and you never had to wait for than a few minutes for anything, if you had to wait. The only disappointment was the specialty restaurants, you never knew if there was going to be a 2 hour wait or you could go in immediately. This made dinner plans difficult. Japanese food was good. French and Italian were not good (my opinion). Surf and Turf was just ok. The best bet is going to the buffet. Food is always stocked and tastes delicious! I would recommend his resort every single time. A winner for any vacation you plan.

Staff were great, especially Travis and Kadeen. Steakhouse was terrible but the other restaurants were good.
